Chapter 17 - Dorms [1]

"You have this entire day to pack. Tomorrow is your move of the day."

Amelia said with a pensive expression as Noah opened the door to the house.

It was twelve in the morning, Noah was driven home by Axin after they went to the association.

At the association Victor had to report the mission and the incidents that happened within the anomaly. He had gone into detail of the gruesome scene of Hazel's and Eunwoo's death, while leaving out what he had seen of Noah.

"Yes, this is all the stuff that happened."

Victor said as Anxin tried to ask if anything else happened after seeing a rather odd expression from Victor so he knew he was lying. But he could not convince him to speak.

Victor just avoid any more questions so Anxin gave up and dismissed everyone, when everything was somewhat done it was already really late in the evening. To add to it, it was friday and slowly approaching midnight, Noah was there waiting for Amelia to pick him up. And in seeing this offered him a ride instead since it would be much faster than waiting.

Noah sat down on the car seat and Anxin started to speak while sitting in front of Noah with his legs crossed and his arms on the arm rest.

"What happened for Victor to not report something?" He said.

Noah, remembering the flowers in the place, had to keep a poker face, so he looked a bit confused. The issue here was the confusion was odd to Anxin, rather than looking confused Noah looks a bit annoyed.

"Ask him, I have no clue what you are talking about."

[I think the flowers from the mana are affecting the connection between you and the body right now, you look annoyed.]

What?

Anxin shook his head while Satan and Noah were conversing telepathically. Then taking out a file and passing it over to Noah.

"I know you know about the flowers, give me any details not mentioned in the files. We need to add it to the database."

Anxin waited for Noah to say something, while just staring at him.

The sound of the wind pushing against the window and the mechanical noise from the car kept them company as it was silent.

Noah, who couldn't bear it anymore, spoke while throwing the file back at Axin. It hit the ground in front of him and Axin picked it up.

Noah the. Spoke, "I thought Victor told you the details."

Anxin looked at the cold monotone gaze of Noah and he could feel the throbbing headache he will have when inputting new data for the association.

"He did, I'm just asking if there were more to it."

"Nope."

Noah, still adamant on that, looked out the window toward the paved roads and saw the upcoming street.

"I'll be going now. Contact Father Christ if you need a volunteer again."

Noah said as they parked by the side of the road near the house. He picked up his things and opened the door and got out of the car swiftly.

"See you next time." Said Noah and not giving Anxin a chance to answer he shut the door.

Now arriving at the scene from before.

"One day?"

Noah said as he checked his phone, he saw the homescreen and the time 12:00, midnight. It was already 'tomorrow'.

Amelia nodded and Noah went in the door and Amelia saw the car leave and waved a little.

Anxin sitting in the car saw her wave and had a chill go down his back.

I should leave quickly, never know what she might do.

So the car sped up and left. Amelia was standing there feeling a bit offended by Anxin not waving back and just leaving. She turned around and went into the room and closed the door behind her.

"I prepared some food, feel free to try it."

Amelia was standing by the kitchen table with some dishes spread out, some is an understatement the entire table was filled with food.

"New recipe ideas for the restaurant, my precious genie pig."

"… I don't die eating them right? I had a stomach ache last time you."

Amelia shook her head before speaking once more.

"Nothing is raw here, I undercooked some meat last time so that was that, but this is this! Come on, this is part of the deal for letting you stay here. Rather than being a bum at home you are helping me out."

Amelia reminded Noah to which he sighed and went over to the kitchen sink. He quickly washed his hands and went to the table and sat down on a chair with his bag next to the chair.

[Steal some to take back to your room, I want to try!]

Can you even eat? Aren't you technically a plush?

[I can!]

Noah had grabbed a few things and put them in his place to try them. First he grabbed a side dish.

"Gartic Green beans?"

Amelia nodded and waited for him to try it.

Noah used his chopsticks to eat it.

Hm, pretty good. Maybe I need some more garlic though. That would definitely make it better.

"Add more garlic."

"Gotcha! Ah, also your roommate for the year came by the house today."

"He knows where I live?"

"I may have told him, he works as a hunter as well."

Noah sat there dumbfounded.

My roommate is a hunter, how can I have a peaceful year?

"Don't worry too much, I told him you are a weirdo so he won't bother you."

"What?! That's worse!"

Amelia laughed before telling him she was joking, she had only told him that he was chill and better to just leave him be since her brother is an introvert.

"Oh, yeah he wanted to chat about which side of the room and what you are bringing, so I answered for you. Very late but still answered since you couldn't."

She said and then took out a piece of paper with the stuff his roommate would be bringing and the stuff he should most likely bring.

"This helps you pack faster."

Noah took the paper and the two went back to trying the new dishes.
