"Edwin?"
Noah said when he saw someone that looked eerily similar to his lover from his past life. Everything was exactly how he had remembered him. When he saw him he held his chest ache and he stumbled across the path toward him.
"You're alive."
Noah said with a smile, while grabbing the arm of someone who looked exactly like Edwin. Even though Noah only saw a glimpse of this person's face, he could tell that it was Edwin, even if he had turned around right after.
"Do I know you?"
Noah let go of the person and just stared at him before he watched the person walk away toward one of the buildings.
No, that's not. It isn't him, but it is him. It's just a different version of Edwin. Does that mean he isn't here? Then, will I ever see him again?
Noah just stood there in a slight daze before someone went in for a hug. Startled, he tried to turn around to see who it was.
It was one of Hearth's friends. He had dark brown hair and hazelnut eyes. Wearing a simple white shirt and shorts he was hugging him tightly.
"Hey Axel, how's it been?"
Axel let go before stepping back and acting a bit startled, he looked around to see if other people of the friend group were there. Before long there was a group of sophomores outside of a building.
It was around 9:25 in the morning so the classes were about to start but they crowded over at the side of the entrance.
"I got class can't we talk later? I have to see if the class is attendance required or not."
Noah said while trying to make a path to the door, but he was stopped by someone. She had long brown hair, blue eyes and was 5 ft 3 inches tall. She wore a white button down and a yellow sweater up top of it. The sweater was decorated with white on the collar area and the cuff area and was embroidered with hearts at the center. What was also matching the fit was a black miniskirt. Adding to the fit she wore platform white shoes and jewelry.
"Not so fast, thing is off. You aren't as giggly and silly as usual. What happened?"
Before she continued he quickly ducked under her arm and went into the building.
Outside the group stayed silent for a bit before someone spoke up, he had black hair and wore all black.
"Lily, I think you scared him off."
He joked before he took out a phone in his pocket before he sent a message out to their group chat.
[Sleepless_PC] 7pm dining hall, STAT no skipping or I will find u and drag u there! See yall again!
"Problem solved, I got a CS class too late."
The rest of them sighed before they scattered away to their own classes as quickly as possible. Well only two of them are left, the brown haired woman and the brown haired man.
"Something definitely happened, wacha think Daniel?"
The woman said while tapping her shoes on the ground in a repeated tone outside the building and looking up at the windows above her. She waited for the answer that had come quickly.
"Chloe, I think you are right, something is off. He didn't even say anything about his summer before scattering away to his class! That isn't like him! No, my precious Noah has changed."
Daniel said while he held his hand up to his eyes as if he was wiping away invisible tears that would have fallen down his face from an unbearable loss.
"Stop being so dramatic, you saw Kevin's message. Come on, let's go. We'll see him later anyways."
She said while pinching Daniel's cheeks. Before she let go and dragged him away from the building.
At the same time Noah was in the lecture hall listening to class. He had seen the message and thought to himself about how he could explain to Hearth's friends that he isn't Noah but rather someone from another universe. He quickly scrapped that idea and thought that it would be better to say a half lie half truth.
I'll just tell them about how Hearth had gone to the mana field and has MIA so he has a calmer emotion. I don't think telling them about everything is a good idea. After all, I just need to find my way home. If Edwin of this universe gains the memory of my Edwin he would have remembered me. Unless they need to be activated by something, or he didn't arrive here after he died like me. Ugh this is making me stressed.
Noah was just thinking to himself the whole lecture and barely listened. Only when the professor said that they don't need to arrive in the classroom everyday did he start to listen. But not long after he went back to thinking his own thoughts.
Even seeing someone who is not Edwin makes me want to be around them. Even if it isn't him, he should be exactly like him. Is it wrong if I stay around him for this reason? I just need to see the same face, smile and laugh. I don't need to be close, I can just admire from a distance if I have to.
Rather down he went to the next room he was supposed to be in. He quickly walked to see a family face, embarrassed from what he had from this morning he tried to avoid this world's Edwin.
He was stopped by the same blonde haired blue-eyed man.
"Wait, you're that person in the forest. I knew I recognized that doll of yours and your face."
Edwin said before putting on a bright smile and grabbed Noah's hand quickly with joy.
This made Noah almost lose it, he was sweating from more than one reason.
He saw me in the forest? How much did he see?
"Let's be friends!"
Edwin said with a smile that showed his teeth and a calm and gentle voice. That prompted Noah to relax, and it felt as though he had gone back to when they had first met, a nostalgic memory.
"Okay."
