"I'm sure everyone had seen the news, it was a nationwide warning that was issued that someone had stolen a lab subject from the hunter's association a few weeks ago. This also goes to why Mr Goat is with us. After all, he had given us a prime clue about where he was."
Kevin said as if he is currently some crazy leader of a secret organization, of course Noah felt embarrassed. To Noah this looked more like some childish roleplay that a group of friends decided to do, while going to some weird place.
I don't know why, but I feel rather uncomfortable. Do they act like this? Also who are those 3 others, they don't have mana flows that I recognize.
Noah was sitting there with no noticeable changes, there was a reason for that fine control of his movements and heartbeats.
One of the other members there, Mr Lion was using magic at that moment, his eyes could see different shifts even the tiniest bit, from heart beat to breathing. So his reaction to the absence of a reaction really bothered him.
What an odd person, if he didn't know he would still have a reaction, so that means he knew this already? Mr Fox sure brought an interesting fellow into this group.
Mr Lion was already completely under the impression that Mr Goat who was Noahh was some sort of powerful being that has some influence of the world.
"So that means this is a mission? What about the higher ups?"
It was a woman's voice, the girl with the Snake mask. She had her hands closed tightly as if she held a grudge. Of course this was noticed by everyone else there.
The weirder things got the more Noah felt more confused, of course he didn't show that at all and just stayed silent and still.
Seriously, what am I doing? I thought this was just some group of hunters from a guild that isn't part of the association! Not some secret organization of 4 people! This is going into dangerous territory.
While Noah was having an internal panic the one with a snail mask sighed before he laughed then took off his mask.
"Seriously Kevin, why are we wearing masks? This is too much even for me, your little tricks have to stop eventually."
Watching this everyone else took off their mask which left Noah stunned, but he just sat there.
Kevin chuckled before he stood up and went over to the side of the building and inserted mana into some odd looking symbol.
When he did that the entire room started to light up, rather than looking creepy from just slight lighting it looked more majestic as if it was once a castle that held many people that gathered solely for the occasion of meeting the one who would sit on the throne.
"Yeah yeah, I'll stop with the jokes. Although Mr Goat here will still be wearing his mask, he won't be staying for a long time so there is no need to see his face. Part of the contract after all."
Kevin said with a smile. Then he went back to his seat, now he sat there relaxed without the mask instead he held it in his hand. It was mainly blue and off white that also had a tone of blue. He recognized the symbol on the mask and understood it said greed in another language.
"Althought the mask and stuff was a joke, the part about the researcher and the plan for it won't be."
Kevin took some files out of his bag and slid it across the large table to the other 4 people there. He could see the other people's faces, now.
One of them had white base hair and red highlights, he had makeup on and looked like a pretty boy. Another had bluish grey hair, the highlights were a lighter tone of white making it seem like it was white.
The only women there had light green hair. Her facial structure made her look rather scary.
Everyone there was wearing the same clothing so there was no noticeable difference aside from how the people there had unique builds. Everyone was wearing a white long sleeved button down and black pants.
Noah noticed this and looked back at Kevin who was explaining how they would be extracting creatures from the professor. Then he noticed something.
Did he always have a blue streak in his hair? Why does he look different?
Kevin looked over at Noah, smiled and went back to explaining.
"Me and Mr Goat here will be solo investigating while I will send a message if we need help. Aside from that after we collect it you guys take care of the rest. Ok dismissed."
After Kevin said that two of them used magic and disappeared from the area leaving only Kevin, Noah and Mr Lion. Mr Lion went up to Noah and wanted to shake hands but was stopped by Kevin. He shook his head before the other guy sighed and like the others left.
Now only Kevin and Him remained there.
"Confused? I can explain if you want. We can have a fun chat while we walk back to the car."
Noah nodded and Kevin started to walk toward the entrance of the secret base. Then Kevin moved a lever and the two of them left the castle and moved upwards.
"You said you wanted my help, think of this as me helping. Aside from that, some reason I trust you so keep everything u see a secret. You can ignore everything until you get what you want but I would rather keep you close. Come join us."
Kevin said with an odd look, this was not Noah had seen before in Kevin from the past year he had known him. To Noah it felt like a different person from the memories but he tried to put that aside and he just nodded
Kevin saw this as an approval so he had given Noah an item.
