Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Gu Yuena's Purpose

The commotion outside the window did not last long; Han Ruoruo gently clapped her hands, drawing the students' attention back to the lesson.

"Alright, students, don't be distracted. The affairs of other classes have nothing to do with us. Now, listen carefully to the lecture."

She said gently, then opened her book and began the first official lesson for freshman class six.

The content Han Ruoruo explained was mostly basic knowledge about the Soul Master system, such as the classification of Martial Soul types.

Power Attack, Control, Agility Attack, Support, Defense, Food, etc., the basic principles of spirit ring matching, as well as a brief history and classification of spirit tools.

For Caelus and even most students from noble or Soul Master Family backgrounds, this knowledge was already familiar.

However, a considerable portion of the students in the classroom were listening with exceptional focus, and some were even taking notes.

Most of these were commoner Geniuses from Shrek City.

Relying on their own exceptional talent, they were able to enroll through the unique selection channels of Shrek City without needing a main city-level recommendation letter.

Han Ruoruo was clearly looking after these students, ensuring they could build a solid theoretical foundation so they wouldn't fall behind due to their background.

Time slipped away quietly amidst Han Ruoruo's clear and gentle explanation.

When the bell for the end of class rang, she closed her book and smiled as she announced the end of the lesson.

"Caelus, Gu Yuena, you two come with me to the office."

Han Ruoruo tidied up her lesson plan and said to the two sitting in the back row.

As the class monitor and deputy monitor, assisting the head teacher in handling class affairs was their duty.

Caelus and Gu Yuena stood up and followed behind Han Ruoruo, leaving the classroom together.

The three walked along the corridor of the teaching building, inevitably passing through Shrek Square.

At this moment, the scene in the square caught their attention.

They saw an old woman with a stern face, covered in wrinkles, and eyes as sharp as an eagle's, standing in front of the new student class one formation, reprimanding them in a cold voice.

The students in front of her were all shivering in fear, their faces full of tension and exhaustion.

A few of the students were pale, looking utterly devastated, and under the complex gazes of their surrounding classmates, they silently turned and walked toward the outside of the square.

The breeze carried fragments of words, and Caelus clearly caught harsh terms like "expelled," "trash," and "not worthy of staying in Shrek."

Han Ruoruo's cultivation was higher, so she naturally heard them even more clearly.

She looked at the figures leaving in despair, shook her head helplessly, and a trace of pity appeared in her eyes.

These children were unlucky and had no fate with Shrek Academy.

Although she did not agree with Zhou Yi's simple, crude teaching style of constantly expelling students, as a colleague, she had no right, nor would she interfere with another teacher's teaching autonomy, even if that method seemed absurd to her.

Gu Yuena, who was following behind, let her gaze linger for a moment on a black-haired boy in the group of new students who looked very ordinary, and even somewhat thin.

"child of destiny... so he is indeed here."

She thought silently, more convinced that her choice was correct; Shrek Academy was the best window to observe and understand the top human power and trends of this era.

Immediately, her gaze imperceptibly turned toward Caelus, who was walking beside her.

As the Silver Dragon King who held the Origin of the seven great elements, her perception of the elements of Heaven and Earth far exceeded that of any human Soul Master.

She could clearly feel that the wind elements in the surrounding space showed an extraordinary affinity and favor toward Caelus, as if they were actively crowding around him.

However, Caelus's Martial Soul was clearly not wind-attribute.

"Regent of Time... is it a Martial Soul involving the dimension of time?"

Gu Yuena guessed in her heart.

Regardless of what it specifically was, this boy named Caelus was clearly not simple.

He seemed to be shrouded in a layer of mist.

Before coming to Shrek Academy, she had done quite a bit of homework on the Soul Master system of human society.

An eleven-year-old Soul Elder was already a top Genius among humans, so she had set her cultivation after transforming at Rank 35, which was not too shocking, but enough to ensure she would not be looked down upon.

However, in just freshman class six, there appeared two people, Caelus and Ye Guyi, whose talent was not inferior to her superficial strength, and Caelus's Soul Power Rank was even higher.

"Humans... are indeed blessed in the path of Cultivation."

A complex emotion flashed in the depths of Gu Yuena's purple eyes.

Compared to Soul Beasts that often require thousands or tens of thousands of years to grow, the growth speed of human Soul Masters was more than a hundred or a thousand times faster.

This made her more vigilant, while also making her more determined in her choice.

The three, each with their own thoughts, crossed the heavy-atmosphered square and walked toward the teachers' office.

As an elite graduate of the Inner Court and a powerhouse at the Martial Soul Saint Rank, Han Ruoruo was an Advanced teacher as soon as she joined, possessing her own private office.

This office was spacious, bright, and elegantly furnished, forming a sharp contrast with the academy's "stinginess" regarding the lives of Outer Court Disciples, and it was far beyond the treatment of some teachers who had taught for many years but were still Intermediate teachers.

Clearly, Shrek Academy was quite generous to "its own people."

After inviting Caelus and Gu Yuena to sit on the comfortable sofa, Han Ruoruo considerately poured each of them a cup of clear tea. The tea aroma curled, easing some of the unfamiliarity of their first formal conversation.

"I called you here mainly to clarify your responsibilities as class monitor and deputy monitor."

Han Ruoruo spoke in a gentle tone and began to explain in detail the matters they would usually need to assist her with.

It was nothing more than relaying instructions, assisting in managing class discipline, organizing some simple group activities, and assisting with coordination during specific periods.

These tasks were not complex, and for Soul Masters with strong mental force and superior Remembrance, they were even simpler.

Caelus and Gu Yuena listened quietly and soon committed the key points to heart.

"Alright, that's roughly it. I'll have to trouble you both with class management in the future."

After Han Ruoruo finished speaking, she wore an encouraging smile on her face.

Caelus and Gu Yuena stood up to indicate they understood, then left the teachers' office under Han Ruoruo's gaze.

Walking out of the office building, the noon sunlight was just right.

Caelus turned his head to look at the cool-tempered silver-haired girl beside him and took the initiative to extend an invitation:

"Classmate Gu Yuena, it's almost noon. Would you like to go to the canteen together?"

Gu Yuena paused slightly, her amethyst-like eyes looking at Caelus, seemingly pondering for a moment.

Her purpose in infiltrating the human World was to understand and integrate; being too maverick would instead arouse suspicion.

Contact with someone like Caelus, who was clearly a top Genius, would not only allow her to better observe the behavioral patterns of human Geniuses but perhaps also accumulate some connections for the future.

In her long-term plan, controlling Shrek Academy was one of them, and if an outstanding talent like Caelus could be recruited for her own use, it would be a great help.
