Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Mica

Jay-jay's POV:

Where are you?!

That damn Pikachu! I've been looking for it for a while and still can't find it. It's already the sixth Pokémon I've ignored. The Sightings popped up, and then it disappeared.

"Are you aware that you look ridiculous doing that?"

Yuri asked.

I ignored him. I've been walking around the front of our classroom for a while now. I really want to catch Pikachu. The Rizal monument in front of the school is also a Pokéstop, so when a Lure is active, you know what happens!

"There! There! There!"

I shouted when Pikachu appeared.

I threw the Pokéball.

"Got it!"

I yelled, waving my phone around.

"Who did you catch?!"

He's the one who helped me get Pokémon Go on my phone. He also taught me how to play. It's really addictive.

"Pikachu!"

I answered, imitating Pikachu's voice.

"Nice...."

Ci-N said.

"There's a Pikachu here?"

One of our classmates asked.

Even the other sneaky ones pulled out theri phones to look for Pikachu. It turns out they all play Pokémon Go too.

I'm the only one still struggling to catch it.

"Tss."

Is it Yuri or Keifer?

It's Yuri.....

The king of the sneaky ones hasn't shown up yet. I don't even care where he is.

"What's going on?"

David suddenly asked as he walked in.

"Pokémon."

Ci-N replied.

David pulled out his phone. Turns out, he's playing Pokémon Go too.

Pfffttt.

Honestly, this whole thing is making me hungry. I decided to go to the cafeteria to buy something.

I'm going to the back. I have a little partnership with Ate Lilia, the vendor. She's the one I tipped before. We're pretty close now.

"Ate!"

I greeted her.

"Keep it down.... Someone might hear you."

She warned.

"Hehe, sorry..... I'll just have some water."

She quickly went inside to grab a bottled water. When she came back, I gave her the payment.

"Thanks,"

I said and left.

I was really thirsty. I had packed with me, but the sneaky ones might get in the way.

I was about to leave when I noticed something in the trash bin behind the cafeteria.

Someone!

I approached cautiously, not sure what they might be doing.

It was a woman, still in uniform, and.... crying?

"Miss?"

I called out to her.

She looked at me, and I could clearly see her swollen eyes. Along with that, she looked terrified of me.

"Please! Don't tell Aries I'm here! I need to talk to you!"

She begged, suddenly kneeling.

"Oh no! Get up!"

"Please, I beg you!"

"O-okay! I won't tell him! Just get up!"

She called down a bit and slowly stood up. She fixed herself, and only then did I recognize her.

It was Mica.

Her clothes were dirty, and she had some small cuts.

"Mica?" Is that you?"

I asked.

She only nodded, not saying much.

"W-what happened to you?"

She didn't answer but kept wiping her tears. I wasn't sure if she even knew me, but I could tell she was scared I might tell Aries she was here.

"Don't worry..... I won't tell Aries. We're not even close."

I reassured her, smiling.

She still looked uneasy but tried to speak.

"B-because... the Section D people... they did this to me."

Section D?! Again?!

"Why?"

"I-I don't know.... but I know Aries told them to do this."

Damn it! It must be because of that 'flirt' incident.

"When did they start doing this to you?"

"Since..... the fight with you and Freya."

I knew it! I should've told Aries the truth. He didn't even bother to find out if what Freya was saying was true. And now, thei whole mess has dragged in innocent people like her.

"No one helped you? Your classmates just let them do this to you?"

My voice started to show my frustration.

No friends? No one defended or helped her?

"W-well.... Ella was supposed to, but she hasn't been coming to school."

What the hell? Poor girl. I can't just leave her like this. If I leave her here, those Section D people might come after her again. I can't risk that.

"Come with me for now. I can't leave you here. Those Section D guys might come after you again."

I reached out to take her hand, but she quickly pulled it away, like something was holding her back.

"I-I can't,"

She said, looking away.

"Tsk!"

"Why? Don't worry. I won't take you to Aries."

"I-I can't... Because..."

What?

"Tsk! Is it Calix?"

She looked a but surprised but just lowered her head and nodded.

I knew it!

What now? I can't leave her here, though.

"You have no choice.... It's safer if you come with me."

"Because...?"

"Don't get too close to him."

She had no choice. So, even though she didn't want to, she agreed to come with me. Most of the students had already left after the bell, so no one would notice her condition.

We went straight tot he restroom. She needed to clean up. Her cuts on her arms and knees needed tk be washed as well.

There was no one inside. I checked the stalls. No one there, but..... ghosts, maybe? Just kidding!

I was more scared of what could happen!

I grabbed my handkerchief and wet it, like she had been slapped or choked.

She cleaned up her uniform as well.

"You should take a shower,"

I whispered.

"Huh?!"

"Never mind...."

I replied.

While she cleaning herself up, I suddenly had an idea.

"Mica....."

I started.

"..... Tell me, is Freya a diva?"

I should've said,

"Ella's a flirt,"

but I might get overheard.

"Freya's a diva"

works.

"Why?"

"Just... do it dramatically, okay?"

Even though she wasn't sure, she still prepared her voice and coughed.

"Freya's a diva,"

she said in a theatrical voice.

I gave her a tthumbs-up while smiling.

"Confirm!"

"Huh?!"

"Freya said that, not you. Even if your voice sounds dramatic, it's still lower than hers."

"Why?"

"I remembered the voice of the person who said the 'M' word. Freya definitely!"

"Jay.... Even if you're sure who said it, it doesn't matter if Aries won't listen to you."

She had a point. I need to figure out a way to talk to Aries and make him believe me.

"Whatever, I'll figure something out for that."

Mica just nodded and continued with what she was doing.

Once she was done, even though her appearance hadn't really changed, I took her to the Section E classroom.
