Chapter 11 - Ashes of the Throne

When Nihad entered the throne room deep within the palace, the king was waiting for him, surrounded by the power of the earth element. The king sat on his throne as if he had taken root in the ground itself, but the anger in his eyes revealed something far more terrifying than that of an ordinary warrior. He looked at Nihad with a mocking expression.

"So you claim you came for the people," the king said, raising his hands as pieces of earth floated around him. "But like every rebel who sets foot on my land, you will perish here!"

Nihad felt the energy flowing through his body, the power granted to him by the God of Water. He gripped his sword tightly.

"This throne has been watered with the blood of the people. Today, you will pay for your sins in the name of justice."

The king raised his arms and struck the ground with tremendous force. Massive stone pillars erupted from the floor, and the entire chamber began to tremble. Nihad protected himself with water like a shield and quickly charged toward the king. He directed the water like a sharp spear, trying to pierce through the king's defense. However, the king wrapped the earth around his body like armor and skillfully deflected every strike.

The battle between them grew so intense that it threatened to destroy the very foundations of the palace. The king countered every move Nihad made, shaping the earth like blades and attacking relentlessly.

Nihad paused for a moment, steadying his breath. Gathering the power of water, he prepared his next attack.

The king laughed mockingly.

"Water feeds the earth, fool! Your power will never be enough to destroy me!"

But Nihad's eyes were filled with determination.

"Water may feed the earth… but it can also drown it."

Nihad focused his power and summoned a massive wave of water that shattered the king's armor. The earth surrounding the king began to crumble and dissolve. Yet the king still refused to surrender.

Suddenly, he slammed his hands against the ground, causing the floor beneath Nihad's feet to collapse. Nihad used the power of water to keep himself suspended in the air, avoiding the fall, and launched another attack.

Finally, the king formed a gigantic spear of earth and hurled it toward Nihad. But Nihad used water like a shield to stop the spear and swiftly reached the king's side. Raising his sword, he delivered a powerful strike enhanced by water.

With a final scream, the king collapsed to the ground.

Now the only one standing before the throne was Nihad.

He took a deep breath and whispered to himself:

"Justice has been served."

At the same time, the battle between Nahid and Nicat had reached its most violent point.

Nahid was doing everything he could to fend off Nicat's dark magical attacks. However, Nicat's black magic–enhanced blades and lightning-fast strikes were beginning to break through Nahid's defenses.

Regaining his focus, Nahid concentrated all his power into his flaming sword.

"Your darkness cannot defeat me, Nicat! No matter how much you embrace the shadows, you will lose this battle!"

Nicat laughed mockingly.

"You're still fighting for those foolish ideals, Nahid. But remember… everyone dies eventually. You will too."

Despite his wounds and exhaustion, Nahid charged forward. Their swords clashed again and again, flames and dark energy exploding across the battlefield.

But at that moment, Nicat stepped back and raised his hand, opening a dark portal. Nahid moved to deliver one final strike, but Nicat retreated with a mocking smile.

"My business with you will end another day, brother. Now the king is dead. In this war for the throne, there is no true winner. But remember… darkness always returns."

Nicat stepped into the portal. Before disappearing completely, he gave Nahid one last look.

Nahid watched the portal close and then collapsed to the ground, exhausted and powerless.

When Nihad returned after leaving the king's corpse behind, he found Nahid lying on the ground covered in blood.

"Nahid!" he shouted, rushing toward him and trying to lift him up.

Nahid forced a faint smile.

"Is the king dead?" he asked.

Nihad nodded.

"Yes. It's over. Our people will finally be free."

Nahid took a deep breath and looked up at the sky.

"It's over… but Nicat is still a threat. One day he will return. And when that day comes, we will have to stop him."

Nihad silently agreed with his brother's words. He lifted Nahid and helped him walk out of the ruins of the palace.

But in Nahid's mind, the voice of the God of Flames still echoed:

"The war never truly ends, my warrior."

For that day, however, the brothers walked forward together to celebrate the freedom of their people. A victory born from ashes was lighting the path toward the battles that still awaited them.
