Chapter 74: Eliminate Them All
However, the people Phil killed were probably just the most useless batch under Horus.
After all, nobody starts with their trump card.
Just as Caesar expected, when Phil led people wanting to continue charging forward, twenty-some people appeared ahead. Each one had a fierce expression, broad shoulders and thick waist, with equipment even better than Phil's group.
Phil had no retreat. He swallowed and shouted loudly, "Charge!"
Then he rushed toward the opposition.
The next second, bullets came like splashing water. Dense bullets flew past, penetrating flesh and spattering blood mist.
Phil's entire body went numb, but he didn't feel pain. He stared fixedly at Horus standing behind that group of people. "Horus!!!"
He charged toward Horus's direction. Gunfire didn't stop. He hit several people in succession, while his own body became increasingly numb.
But Phil didn't care about those things. Only Horus remained in his eyes.
Caesar watched from afar. As Phil charged, subordinates at his side rapidly decreased. The closer they got, the faster they died.
Phil finally approached that group of people, but he felt a sense of weightlessness. His body floated lightly upward, then fell heavily to the ground.
Without him raising his head, Horus's foot appeared in his vision.
"Phil, you're truly an idiot." Horus's thin lips pressed together, the corners of his mouth curving into a mocking smile.
Phil opened his mouth wanting to say something, but only blood foam came out.
His entire body had been hit by dozens of bullets, just the pain was so strong his brain temporarily blocked it out.
Now he reacted. Pain flooded in like a tide. Phil's pupils also gradually lost vitality.
With Phil's death, his subordinates quickly scattered and fled.
Horus watched the fleeing enemies. He himself also held a gun attacking. "Leave not one. Kill them all."
Bullets whooshed past. Phil's subordinates fell backward one by one, heads thrown back. Many horses also lay on the ground.
They and the horses all died from multiple bullet wounds.
A lucky few escaped. They saw Caesar and his group who hadn't entered Horus's ranch. Their eyes brightened as they ran frantically over.
Caesar glanced at Merle. Merle knowingly raised his gun. His team members also raised guns and fired.
Merle's team members had trained quite a bit during this time, their marksmanship greatly improved. They only shot those two people without injuring the horses.
Caesar immediately had people recover the horses.
The battle inside the ranch ended. Horus's face had no smile. He led his people riding horses out, looking at Caesar coldly.
Caesar's hand rested at his waist, puzzled inside.
Could Horus have lost too many people and want to fight with him now?
Does he have that capability?
Caesar glanced at the crowd behind Horus. Twenty-some people, looking fairly capable, but still far inferior to his own people.
Horus pondered for a moment, dismounted, extended his palm, and revealed a warm smile. "Haven't seen you in days. Your subordinates look even stronger."
"How about we go in for a drink to celebrate this hard-won victory?"
Horus's smile was shallow. The gloom in his eyes was like a viper, sweeping over Caesar's subordinates.
When he said the four words "hard-won," he deliberately emphasized them. Horus wanted to remind Caesar that in this battle, Caesar hadn't contributed much effort.
Caesar didn't extend his hand. He said flatly, "Our cooperation isn't over yet."
"You should settle the expenses for this battle first!"
That's right. This time, Horus's cooperation with Caesar to eliminate Phil was first requested by Horus. When asking for help, one should have an attitude of asking.
And the expenses were what Caesar and Horus had agreed on before.
The corners of Horus's mouth twitched. "But you didn't contribute any effort?"
"Didn't contribute effort?" Caesar raised his hand. "If I didn't contribute effort, how are you standing here?"
Caesar looked down at Horus, who was shorter than himself. "I didn't attack you, which counts as contributing effort. Doesn't it?"
Horus could no longer maintain his smile. His teeth ground audibly, his fingers clenched tightly.
In the end, Horus still nodded and handed over some livestock to Caesar and his group.
After Caesar left, Horus flew into a rage at the ranch.
He smashed everything in the conference room to pieces. His roaring voice could be heard even at the ranch's edge.
After Horus calmed down, he sent out a cowboy who quickly left the ranch carrying something.
Not far away in the forest, a black shadow flashed past.
...
After Caesar returned to the ranch, the livestock he brought were recorded one by one by Amy.
Everyone at the ranch was extremely excited. Just going out once brought back so many cattle and sheep.
Moreover, they barely took action. Forget injuries—they hadn't even met their daily activity quota.
The ranch residents all felt fortunate to have come to Caesar's ranch.
Newly joined cowboys were also very excited. This showed the boss had capability. The boss himself was also generous—their days would definitely not be hard.
Caesar had barely rested when he received news of Daryl's arrival.
Stone house, study.
Daryl rushed in, looking at Caesar with a serious tone. "Horus has made his move."
"Normal." Caesar drank a cup of tea and said flatly, "I provoked him so much today. If he still doesn't act, he couldn't be such a large ranch owner. He'd have had his land invaded by others long ago."
"I've also been getting impatient."
"I want to achieve success in one stroke—kill Horus and Leon, annex their land and population."
Daryl thought for a moment and asked, "If we kill their people, how could they possibly join us instead of hating us?"
"Why do you think I'm playing these games of you hit me, I hit you with those two forces? Of course it's to hide ourselves." Caesar smiled. "We didn't kill anyone on Old Man Leon's side—Horus killed them. Many people on Horus's side also died today, but everyone witnessed it—we didn't take action at all."
"The two sides can only blame each other. What does this have to do with us?"
"We're just a good person with good relationships on both sides. Of course, this is how their ordinary residents see it, and we only need these residents."
After explaining everything to Daryl, Caesar gave him orders:
"Next, Old Man Leon and Horus will definitely need to discuss matters once. Letter communication alone is no longer enough. They need to meet face to face to discuss how to deal with us."
"Today, we exposed quite a bit of equipment in front of Horus. He's definitely extremely wary of us. He can't possibly attack us alone—he can only find Old Man Leon to share the risk."
"They're going to war with us, Daryl. What do you say we should do?"
Caesar threw the question to Daryl.
Daryl didn't hesitate, blurting out, "Then fight. Eliminate them all."
"Right, eliminate them all. However, I want to find the method with minimum losses and maximum profit."
