Chapter 84 - Chapter 84: Carol

Chapter 84: Carol

Amy turned around and walked quickly toward the kitchen. "Aiya, no more talking. I'll go make you food."

Having said this, she walked away with small steps, her little bottom swaying.

Caesar watched her back and couldn't help laughing out loud. Hearing the laughter, Amy quickened her steps.

Amy took the ingredients already prepared, put them in the pot, stir-fried—within an hour she'd made two dishes and a soup.

She placed the steaming hot dishes on the table and served rice.

Handing chopsticks to Caesar, Amy bent down and kissed Caesar at the corner of his mouth, using a soft voice to say: "Wait obediently for me to come home!"

Having said this, she took off her apron and quickly left the stone house.

When closing the wooden door, Amy smiled sweetly and waved, silently saying: "Love you."

She also made a heart shape and disappeared into the night.

Caesar also responded with a heart, looking at the steaming dinner before him, his heart warm.

These were all Dragon Kingdom dishes Caesar loved to eat. Clearly Amy had specifically found someone to learn them.

Moreover, Amy knew Caesar had come back and specifically returned to make him dinner. After making it, she left.

Caesar's appetite opened wide. He quickly ate all the food into his stomach.

Under the night, Caesar's ranch had many more points of light spread across it. These were people temporarily without houses, who could only live in tents.

But in just a few days, with over a hundred people working together, they'd all have new houses to live in.

Late at night, when Amy returned home, the lights in the house had long been extinguished. Only the flames burning quietly in the fireplace remained.

The flames transmitted waves of warmth. Amy removed her clothes, quickly washed, and climbed into bed.

Touching Caesar's body, Amy exclaimed. Then she was embraced in Caesar's arms.

Between breaths was entirely Caesar's scent. Amy's fair face turned slightly red. She said sweetly: "I thought you were asleep."

"Was asleep." Caesar brushed away Amy's disheveled hair to let himself see Amy's face clearly. "You woke me up."

"So..." Caesar's hand began to wander. "You need to receive a small punishment."

Amy trembled slightly. Caesar's large hand was like a heating pad. Wherever it caressed, it caused that skin to burn.

Gradually, Amy's entire body rose with red flush. Even her earlobes completely reddened.

Clearly it wasn't the first time anymore. Amy was still so shy. Caesar also couldn't see enough of Amy's shy appearance.

Amy bit her teeth and deliberately glanced down twice: "Careful or I'll bite you to death."

Hearing this, Caesar tilted his head. The arc of his mouth's curve deepened several degrees. "Oh, is that so?"

Like a provocation, yet also like an invitation.

The teasing tone—Amy instantly understood Caesar's meaning. Her face instantly flushed red over a large area. She patted Caesar's chest: "You're so bad~ Mm~"

"Mm~"

Amy's mouth was blocked. Caesar turned over, letting Amy lie on the bed.

The blanket was pulled up. Flames leaped, illuminating the blanket beneath which you could vaguely see figures writhing up and down.

The moonlight was enchanting, always making people linger.

The next day.

Caesar rose early. Looking at Amy sleeping soundly in bed, sunlight slowly climbed onto the bed, about to shine on Amy's face.

He quietly walked to the window and pulled the thick curtains. The room darkened.

Caesar sat on the bed's edge, lowering his head to look at the sleeping Amy.

Amy's eyelashes were very long, trembling delicately. Her hair was spread out like the sun plucked down and kneaded into golden hair, setting off her snow-white skin.

Compared to when awake, Amy asleep looked quiet and serene.

Caesar watched for quite a while, couldn't resist lowering his head to kiss Amy's eyes.

In those blue pupils always hid deep love for Caesar.

After leaving the bedroom, Caesar went to the kitchen to make himself a sandwich. He also left one for Amy, placing it in the pot to keep warm.

Writing a small note, only then did Caesar leave the stone house.

Caesar walking out of the stone house restrained the gentleness and peace he had at home, becoming stern and full of authority. This was the change brought by having more and more subordinates and expanding power.

Today T-Dog guarded in front of Caesar's door. Seeing Caesar walk out, T-Dog followed with small steps, saying: "Today Carol wants to discuss building cabins with you. She's a bit worried there aren't enough hands—building cabins too slowly will cause dissatisfaction among the newcomers."

"Also, Carol doesn't know whether to provide meals for the newcomers. And Merle proposed wanting to recruit more new people. The territory is getting bigger and bigger. Manpower is increasingly insufficient."

T-Dog and Morales were Caesar's deputy captains, directly under Caesar's jurisdiction. Reporting today's tasks should have been done by Amy, but last night Caesar played a bit wildly, causing Amy to be unable to get up.

So it piled onto T-Dog guarding at Caesar's door. His build was broad, his complexion dark. Yet he spoke very sharply, carrying a rap-like rhythm.

Caesar strode toward the administrative hall—the place previously built for conducting office work.

While walking, Caesar said: "Carol's housing matter is most urgent. Have the combat squads temporarily not go out. Have them help Carol build new cabins."

The combat squad members were all strong young adults. Their strength and stamina were at life's peak. With their help, building cabin speed could accelerate several times.

"As for meals, Carol can provide them, but only provide the most basic staple food. Don't give vegetables, don't give meat, and don't give fruit."

Currently, Caesar's ranch mainly produced beef and mutton. Vegetable and fruit production was very limited. Even the ranch's upper management could only exchange for small portions daily, much less freely supply newly arrived residents.

Besides this, after Caesar returned to the ranch, the entire ranch no longer did communal meals. Instead, it relied on distributing contribution points based on each person's work. Contribution points could exchange for things at the ranch's market.

Some preferential treatment for these just-arrived residents was fine, but couldn't be excessive. Otherwise it would arouse other residents' disgust and new residents' smugness.

"Merle's and Daryl's combat squads do need to continue recruiting. Among the new residents are quite a few who can sign up for combat squads. And I need to establish a new squad."

"All this work must wait until new residents settle down before it can be done. Understand?"

Having finished, Caesar looked back at T-Dog. T-Dog grinned. His eye whites and teeth were white enough to reflect light.

T-Dog stared blankly at Caesar, scratching his head as if explaining: "Boss, I'm combat personnel."

Caesar smiled helplessly. "Fine, fine, fine. If you can't remember it all, forget it."

Afterward, Caesar reached the administrative hall and had T-Dog go find Carol, Merle, Daryl, and others to come.

And told them his plans one by one.

Carol walked out of the office, turning her head to look at Daryl. "Daryl, from now on you have to listen to me."

Daryl glanced at Carol and nodded: "I know—"

Before Daryl finished, Merle stepped sideways between the two. Merle raised his eyebrows, looking Carol up and down, saying greasily: "Carol, you've gotten a lot prettier lately."
