Aches and smoke filled the air in Howelbr , the cloud above it was enveloped with smoke from the huge flames underneath, making the sky darker. As if the gods was on a shift that day, it started raining, raining on the dead soldiers, thousands of soldiers had fallen and more on their way to kiss the soil of the earth, although it rained , most of the flames still stood high. King Hector was on his knees , facing the rain , mixing with his tears, meanwhile Adrastos was still fighting off the beasts , the numbers of the beasts had reduced ,the fight had subsided , thanks to the brave soldiers who gave their lives for it.
At this point Adrastos was already panting, not only was he exhausted from the fight but from the exposure, he and Hector has been fighting for hours. On spur of moment, a strange 7ft man jumped down,the strange man on top the building who threw the fire band and began the tragedy, he immediately drew both's attention
" I can't believe it , it's impossible " king Hector said with astonishment
the strange man laughed and said
"You better start believing, because it is true"
"Do you know who he is my king?" Adrastos asked curiously
king Hector shivering in disbelief sighed and spoke
"Yes , I do, the man before you is, Emperor Gladius of Rome, our greatest adversary "
Adrastos broke upon hearing this, Emperor Gladius laughed, he was so excited, he couldn't hide it
"This is beautiful, isn't it, ohh how I've waited for this day to come and here It is, finally happening. This feeling...., better than even the day I became Emperor, I would with no hesitation, give even my children away for a feeling like this, it truly is a pulchritudenous sight" Emperor Gladius expressed while inhaling the air
"I still can't believe it, how..how did this happen, it's impo-, it's impossible, no , no , no, this cannot be happening, Adrastos !!, wake me up!!" king Hector spoke in utter disbelief
"I'm sorry my King but this is really happening " Adrastos responded
"No, no way....." King Hector replied, almost loosing his voice
Emperor Gladius couldn't stop laughing, he started humming and pounding his chest in a familiar rhythm
"Ohh great and mighty Hector, he weighed upon the sand
Oh great and mighty Hector , how abruptly he stand
Oh great and mighty Hector , he claimed another land
Oh great and mighty Hector , with him oh Greece is glad "
he sang , meanwhile , King Hector and Adrastos were flabbergasted and confused, he then resumed his humming and continued
"Oh great and mighty Hector , with him oh Greece is grand
Oh great and mighty Hector , it is him that I serve
Oh great and mighty Hector , we will follow his hand
oh great and mighty Hector , in his great throne he sat"
he sang sarcastically and still couldn't stop laughing
Adrastos got furious and yelled
"How dare you mock the King in the present of his soldiers "
"King?, don't make me laugh, the only King here is me , and did you just say soldiers ?, where are they?, my eyes must delude me ,ohh you must mean 'the army of the dead" Emperor Gladius mocked and continued his laugh
Adrastos grew impatient and pointed his sword at Emperor Gladius
" Adrastos , calm down " the King instructed and Adrastos quickly put down his sword
"What is this ? Gladius , what have you done ?" the King asked
"AHA! , finally, the grand question I've been waiting for " Emperor Gladius expressed
"How is this possible?, what are those monsters, why are-"
"Just quit chattering you halfwit..."
Emperor Gladius interrupted King Hector , it provoked Adrastos and he was about to draw his word when the King signaled him to calm down
".....you are asking a lot of questions, allow me answer " Emperor Gladius completed
"Go on then " Adrastos pressed
"Who says you moron gets to order me around ?, I'll have your head for that.." Emperor Gladius gladius replied as he reached for his axe , the air became intense, they all started reaching ,he stopped and said
"...after I answer your questions of course , relax you scaredy cats ,I've got nothing to lose in telling you everything now. The worse you can do is take it to your grave, that's if you'd have one HAHA!, and by the way, I've been waiting to see the look on your faces when you hear these " with an evil smirk
"Just get to the point faggot " Adrastos responded
"Did you-" the Emperor said, paused, calmed himself and continued
"There's no point in arguing with a dead man. So where do you guys want me to start ?" Emperor Gladius said , grabbed a small rock ,sat down, waiting for an answer , meanwhile King Hector looking completely bamboozled , nobody answered him, it ticked him off a little, he sighed and said
"You are really an ungrateful bunch , ain't you? , well.....I'm gonna start from the beginning" his smirk immediately died down completely and he continued
"For as long as history echoes, Greece has always been a step ahead of Rome , stumping over any kingdom that it trends upon , with absolute dominance. It was centuries ago, the house of the Melades, a small struggling family, unbothered or rather ignored by every other house, any kingdom, were left to fend and struggle for themselves for centuries, for the sins of their forefathers ,specifically the brothers known as 'The brute Melades brothers' who ruled both Greece and Rome together as one kingdom with two states called the Graeco-roman.
They were talked of as savages who was ruthless to the core, they only lived for the family name, everyone else was mere tool to them, both Rome and Greece suffered greatly in their reign, the civilization began to collapse, the citizen started becoming rebellious , due to famine , oppression and corruption. Rome and Greece began to rise against each other , the country became hell for anybody that isn't a Melady , the murder rate increased significantly everyday, rape ,robbery, kidnapping and you name it , every day was a riot , while all of these was happening, the brothers paid it no mind, eating fresh food, drinking fresh wine in the Citadel, that's when Emperor Octavius, who was a kingsman at that time , organized a coup d'état , alongside the other kingsmen , it was one of the only times in history Rome and Greece ever came together for a common purpose, they overthrew the brothers , murdered every male adult in the family, took the young girls and sent the women and children to the outskirts of Rome, leaving the whole generation abandoned, labeled them as cursed, making sure no body ever mingle with them, shortly after, Emperor Octavius , separated Greece from Rome once again as it was the only way to end the killings , he appointed Xenon as the new king of Greece , yes , your great grandfather Hector -"
"What are hell you saying ?" Adrastos brutally interrupted Emperor Gladius
"Ask your King, he knows what I'm talking about " Emperor Gladius replied
"It is true , i only found out recently myself" King Hector said
"What!?, I've never been this confused, what does these mean my King ?" Adrastos curiously asked
" It doesn't mean anything....."
"It means the history of Greece was built on a lie " Emperor Gladius intercepted King Hector
"It doesn't change anything, even before the Melades brothers took over , Greece was already as mighty"
"False " Emperor Gladius terminated
"I don't understand, why didn't I ever hear of this " Adrastos questioned
"Because they had to keep selling the lie" Emperor Gladius answered
"To protect Greece's legacy " King Hector countered
"You are very shameless Hector" Emperor Gladius said
"Don't you dare call his majesty by his name" Adrastos aggressively pressed
"His majesty you say " Emperor Gladius said , laughed and continued
"Read the room you coward!"
"How does this even explain this disaster, GLADIUS !!" King Hector interjected
"Oh yes, shall I continue?, continue to teach you your own history, hahaha....After Xenon was appointed King , he wasn't satisfied, he felt Rome had the upper hand because Emperor Octavius saved Greece , he felt that was stain to Greece's golden legacy, so not long after agreeing to the peace treaty, he waged war against Rome , the war lasted newly a decade with no Victor. Emperor Octavius grew tired of the war and called for peace again!, Xenon wanted peace but his pride was greater ,so he refused, partnered with the independent Spartans, who broke out of Greece during the brother's reign , they partnered and attacked Rome . Rome suffered a huge defeat, it took the life of Emperor Octavius who was killed by Leonadis the first. Xenon then allowed a renovation of Rome as Greece inferior, his goal was never to destroy Rome but to save Greece legacy, and you want to know what did next?, changed the history, erased the whole Melades brothers story because it insulted Greece legacy, as if that wasn't enough he attempted to kill the remaining Melades that was sent off, then he wrote Greece of course as the greatest civilization in human history, but there was one mistake he made , a brother and sister survived the Melades massacre, in order to continue the family name, the brother impregnated the sister , but he realized they wouldn't survive in middle of nowhere. You see after the Melades were sent to the outskirts of Rome , the discrimination and the decade old war was too much heat for them , that they had to run away to a new land in the middle of nowhere, but Xenon managed to find them and murder them , the blood tears and screams of the Melades even children and babies echoed , and the cloud became dark , and beast-like creatures evolved from the darkness and fought the Greek soldiers, devouring almost all, leaving a few survivors, who ran for thier lives and told the tales, so the city in the middle of nowhere was branded 'CURSED', and that city is the same city we stand now!, Howelbr "
King Hector and Adrastos was stunned, they couldn't believe it , just like you , Adrastos held his forehead
"What in the hell" he said
King Hector just sat down perplexed and almost lifeless
"Ohh, I was hoping one of you would ask about the siblings, well pardon me, I'm not very good at telling stories" Emperor Gladius said, clear his throat and continued
"Howelbr was a curse to everybody, every single single being that stepped into it was devoured , except Melades , like the brother and sister that survived, with help of these beasts and by the way , they are called Kura , they helped the siblings escape, the siblings suffered because they had nowhere to go ,no food nor water , and the sister was pregnant, eventually, the brother gave himself up for his sister to eat, and he made her promise to survive and carry on the family name. she continued surviving for months, feasting on her brother dead and rottened body, she was on the verge of death , but she kept going for her baby. Soon after, she met some travelers, then she passed out, they tried helping her but she already died with a baby in her womb, they tore her stomach and brought the premature baby out it was a boy , buried her and took the baby with them , snuck the baby into Rome and they raised him till he was 7 and then gave him to the army , that child grew up to be Rome's strongest soldier and became the Emperor, imagine the irony , that Emperor was my grandfather, Cassius , who had dreams of everything that happened to his family before him, and claimed his mother never died ,that she lived with him . Though he was the Emperor himself and my father secretly dedicated their life to finding out if the dreams were true ,after years of digging and researching even confirming from his Forster parents, he found out everything added up, except one thing , Howelbr , he took my Father who was 22 at the time, and they both ventured to Howelbr alone, upon their arrival , they saw Kura ,everything was exactly how he dreamt it and the final confirmation he needed was if the Kura would attack them, since their from the Melades family, they placed their hands close to the mouth of Kura and didn't get bitten ,at that point, the story was confirmed for them.
They decided to stay there for few more days as the only way to relate to their family. Few days later, Cassius decided to kill himself because he felt he failed his family by becoming an Emperor to kingdom that neglected them. when my Father got home , he told them Cassius was killed by the beasts, and then Cassius was replaced by Magnus, who was the strongest soldier at the time. Many years later my Father had me , when I became 15 years old , he told me this story , he told me my grandfather called me the chosen one, the fate of Greece ,and blessed me even before I was born, that was why I was never defeated , I became half Kura and half human , I thrived to become the Emperor and even betrayed my only friend to get it, he was the younger brother to Emperor Magnus , he was the only one that could fight me. years later I killed Magnus and became the Emperor and since then, I have been plotting this victory and here finally , I have claimed it "
both King Hector and Adrastos who was utterly shocked by this story, froze
"This is too absurd , I refuse to believe it " Adrastos disagreed
"You want proof ?! " Emperor Gladius asked , smiled and yelled
"KURA!!"
Several of the beasts who were down , slowly got up, as if it couldn't get more shocking. At this point ,they were both afraid , this was a very unpleasant sight, Adrastos tried overcoming the fear
"Oh rise, Maladies , RISE!" Emperor Gladius started yelling, the flames arose even higher and hotter, lighting struck , heavy thunders, the beasts started rising .
"Rise Kura , from the earth, from the aches, rise and do onto them as they did unto you, rise , Rise , RISE!!"
"Impossible" Adrastos expressed, conflicted , Hector stood up
"You may not believe in the spirituals Adrastos, but they sure are real, Draw your sword my friend, let's fight this last time, together " he encouraged , Adrastos nodded his head, salivated, locked his face and drew his sword , five of the beasts attacked, Adrastos attacked too, one of it jumped, diving Adrastos , he shifted his weight to his back foot, telegraphing everything, and quickly rolled under the beast, avoiding the dive , and before the beast could recover , it already lost it's head, Adrastos removed it from behind without looking.
He charged towards the other four, blocked a bite with armor on his arm , stabbed another one in the stomach, slice from the stomach up to the head, splitting the upper body
dragged his armored out of the mouth of the other one with force , causing it's teeths to fall off , followed a strike with the armored arm, completely breaking it's face and falling ,giving him space to counter the other two who was approaching with speed
one swinged it's hand with sharp long nails Adrastos shifted his shoulder to the side, barely escaping, he removed it's whole arm and immediately went for it's head , the beast ducked swiftly, Adrastos was surprised, become they aren't normally that fast, he quickly jumped back ,the last one was still approaching with speed, Adrastos jumped and maneuvered over it's back and went for the one that ducked ,who now possesses just one arm , it swung the arm, Adrastos caught it in a spur of moment, and drove his sword into it's skull , Emperor Gladius was a little impressed , the remaining two, one with a broken face and the other one Adrastos ignored, faced King Hector , Adrastos was in a hurry to exterminate them, when King Hector said
"stand down soldier , leave them to me, they are curses but my sword is a curse binder. I'm sorry Gladius but history will repeat itself today " he drew his sword , Gladius was offended by this word but remained patient, both beasts dived at the same time , it was successful, Hector was on the floor, Gladius laughed , Adrastos was worried but he stood still
"Are you not going to save your king ?" Emperor Gladius said while laughing
"If you think just two worthless beasts is enough to take down the King , then you are solely mistaken " Adrastos replied
Gladius laughed immediately dropped , suspense grew, as the beasts were on top Hector, he was completely covered, then all of a sudden ,his sword emerged from of the beasts' spine, he pushed them off him, and quickly stood up , the other one attacked again and Hector grabbed it's broken face ,held it upward , away for him and said
"Witness this Gladius , witness Greece brutally slaughter your family, once again "
he pushed his sword into it's neck, as it was squealing and struggling, he dragged his sword downwards, slowly slicing it to it's waist and he grabbed both side of the beasts and dragged it, completely splitting it into two.
Emperor Gladius started clapping by seconds and aforesaid
"If you think that'd make me feel rage, you are definitely a coward, you expect me to be affectionate about some beasts ?, yeah they are my family , so what?, I never knew any of them and even if I do, to me they are just another part of my execution. You don't expect to break me with that poor performance you just put on , let me show you how breaking spirits is done, again! "
" What do you mean again, what can you possible do now?" King Hector pressed
"You didn't think that was all to the plan right ?, come on , you're smarter than that " Emperor Gladius mentioned
Adrastos and King Hector looked at each other , confused and somewhat scared
"What are you talking about Gladius " King Hector asked
"You think murdering a beast myth claimed to be my family would break me?, I wonder how murdering a real family would make you feel " Emperor Gladius interjected , King Hector jaw dropped and eyes became wide open of shock , he salivated and spoke
"No....it can't be, can't be what I'm thinking" his eyes still wide
"It is, indeed what you're thinking my friend, since you brought almost your all army with you ,who's gonna protect them?"
Emperor Gladius fueled
King Hector staggered and waged with Adrastos
"You monster , do you really think it'll be that easy to penetrate the Citadel" Adrastos questioned
"Who mentioned easy , you must have not been listening, I spent decades preparing for this. I have multiple inside men in your kingdom" Emperor Gladius answered
"Impossible !!, do not insult the loyalty of-"
"Oh shut up" Emperor Gladius intercepted Adrastos and continued
" You fool, your ego really really pushes me. I have names, Philemon, yes Philemon, your very loyal and best friend "
King Hector couldn't believe it
"Philemon Akleayon?" The king asked as
he bent down and held his chest , Adrastos wasn't as surprised
" And yes you're right, Greeks are too loyal to betray you ,but what I say they were not all Greeks " Emperor Gladius continued
" What do you mean " Adrastos asked
" Philemon isn't Greek , he never was " Emperor Gladius revealed, this time Adrastos became really surprised
"With the look on your faces , i believe he didn't mention, ohh that sneaky bastard, hahaha. He was born in Rome , he was taking into Greece as one of the spoils of Rome defeats. He hates Greece, especially you Hector , he resents you , from day one, he is as happy as I am right now, he claimed he knew you, that your pride was full and your drive to push Greece to the top of the world would be your Hamartia and would bring about your annihilation, he knew you'd fall and how right he was. He is my infiltrator, and he's being smuggling Romans into Greece for years now, so yeah, I have a lot people inside , even in the Citadel , even amongst your soldiers, but....Dorian is Greek though, just a very greedy one. Worry not, I'll kill him for you, I hope you remember Aslron too"
while Emperor Gladius was saying these things, King Hector and Adrastos was perplexed, they couldn't believe these, chill drove through King Hector's spine and he ignored the word about Aslron even tho it spiked him
" I hate people that are sneaky, I hate disloyalty with all might , that is why I must eliminate Dorian and Philemon and ohh, Philemon genuinely tried to help your kids escape, I wonder why he decided to do that, it wasn't part of the plan , but don't get excited, because killing Philemon was part of my plan, I despise him, so I gave him the wrong route, his death awaits him, unfortunately for you both, he took your children with him ,so you know what that means " Emperor Gladius added
This time Adrastos snapped, he spirit broke, his only son, the only family he has in this world. He lost his wife a long time ago, King Hector feel to his knees AGAIN !
" Ohh and it's gets better , my strongest soldiers are in Greece as we speak , executing my plan and taking over Greece , this is the end of you Hector , the end of your generation, end of Greece , no more lies. Now that my friends, is how you break spirits "
Emperor Gladius concluded
King Hector and Adrastos was completely broken , King Hector was losing his breaths
"This is disgraceful" Adrastos stated , rose his head, looked at Emperor Gladius and yelled
"Is this how battles are won?, is this true victory ?, how can you look at yourself and call yourself of a soldier , is that how a true worrior fights?"
" I see, a battle must not be exhilarating , a battle must not be poetic , a battle must not be heroic, a battle must be gloomy, full of despair, frightening and grisly , whichever way comes victory, this battle had to be won, it is certain destiny, Greece lost since the day it stepped into Howelbr for the first time " Emperor Gladius claimed
"You won't get away with this Gladius "
lifeless King Hector said
Emperor Gladius laughed and said
"What do you think is gonna happen now, huh?, you have lost , I'm just here to deliver it to you "
Adrastos couldn't take it anymore
"You could've taken everything else and left my boy, he is my life, there's no meaning to life without him , he didn't even get the chance to live, how can you call yourself a worrior, you're shameless. We have lost, I now have nothing to lose" Adrastos stated , took of his armor , drew his sword for the last time and screamed
" GLADIUSSSSS!!!" as he attacked, Gladius quickly drew his axe , Adrastos jumped, twisted and swung his sword aiming for Gladius' head , Gladius quickly blocked it with his axe , and then suddenly king Hector came screaming and running with tears in his ears , he swung towards Gladius, Gladius, drew his shield from his waist and blocked it , then he pushed them back and yelled
" Yes!!, yes!!, bring it on , how I have longed for a fight like this to savor, finally!, I will savor this battle , and even when I'm bested, I will savor it even more , rage!, Hector , come at me with everything !"
he swang the shield on his right hand towards Adrastos , Adrastos ducked, by twisting himself , he swang the axe on in his left hand against Hector , Hector wasn't expecting it, he quickly jumped back , the axe cut a piece of his clothing, he landed on his butt, Adrastos started swinging, Gladius kept blocking it with his shield and axe , Adrastos started going faster with his swings, using different movements and style, even twisting himself, it kept getting harder to block, then Gladius ducked and escape one swing then swiftly moved to Adrastos' side and attempted to cut him with his axe , Hector quickly jumped in and blocked the axe with his sword , shifted his sword to the head of the axe and pushed his sword against it with force , trying to remove the axe from Gladius ' hand, Gladius noticed and intercepted it with his shield , kicked Hector on his chest .
"is that all you've got ? , moreee, moreee" Emperor Gladius exclaimed
Adrastos was approaching, Gladius threw his shield with force , Adrastos ducked , fumming, he swang his sword aiming for Gladius ' leg , Gladium threw a back flip supporting himself with his axe, this was shocking, considering how big he was , he got more furious and drew another axe
"my King , please stay behind, leave him to me, I might have no chance of winning but wore be unto any soldier that watches his king die, let me die before you my King, let me die proud, this I beg, my last wish as your soldier " Adrastos pleaded
" Rage!, soldier" King Hector responded
Adrastos ran towards Gladius screaming, Gladius also was running towards him , Gladius was the first to swing , both axes aiming for Adrastos , he quickly bent down, and prepared his sword to block , and did , he pushed back, swung, Gladius dodged, he swung again, Gladius stopped it with one axe and swang the other one aiming for his stomach , Adrastos kicked the hand, levitated and swiftly punched Gladius' face with brute force , Gladius staggered a little and regained himself immediately, and he started started howling and recklessly swinging both his axe , it was to fast for Adrastos to keep up so he was slowly shifting backwards, then Hector threw Gladius' shield for Adrastos to block with, Gladius noticed and went for the went for the shield, thinking Adrastos will go for it , but he didn't, he waited, at this point , Gladius attempting to intercept the shield already created and opening , Gladius realised but it was too late , Adrastos slashed his stomach with his sword , blood spilled, Gladius bent, growled, held his stomach , everybody became still, blood was rushing out , but it really didn't seem like it was affecting him much , both Adrastos and Hector were surprised, Gladius laughed and said
"I told you , I am half Kura , it's gonna take a lot more than that to kill me, now let's find out how much it'll take to kill you "
He charged towards Adrastos , threw his axe up , caught it and lunched it with force, against Adrastos , it was fast , but he managed to dodge it, it hit a block split it , before Adrastos could recover , Gladius was swung the other one, Adrastos quickly position his elbow directly underneath the head of the axe to stop it , the elbow dislocated because of the force but he still held it up , he then dropped the sword on his right hand he blocked the shield with, caught it with his left ,swung the sword towards Gladius , the swing was somewhat weak and Gladius caught and held it with his palm, it tore it but he could take it, they both became still in the moment, a torn palm and a disjointed elbow, they looked at each other, waiting who will make the first move, then they simultaneously drew their weapons with power, the sword tore Gladius' palm even more and the axe tore Adrastos' elbow , they both shifted back , Adrastos couldn't use his right hand anymore ,but Gladius could still use both arm , he looked and tored palm and said
"Yes!, do you know how long it has been since I bled, you have impressed me ,you have given me a battle to savor , but , it's still not enough Adrastos , moreee!" , he then licked the blood of his palm, picked up his shield
" pffft, what a monster " Adrastos said
Emperor Gladius charged, jumped swinging his axe , Adrastos maneuvered, dodging it and rolled underneath Gladius junpto behind him, they both turned swinging at the same time , Adrastos' sword collided with Gladius'shield, but since Gladius could use two hands and Adrastos could only use one, he used it as an advantage and swung his axe, Adrastos couldn't move fast enough to avoid it , he could only move his head and the axe pierced his shoulder, he screamed, then Gladius pulled it out, blood erupted ,he held his shoulder trying to stop the blood , he couldn't, obviously. He then accepted his fate , left the shoulder to bleed , he charged towards Gladius , everything became slow , Gladius stood, waiting , Hector stood , knowing what was about to happen, Adrastos kept going , swung his sword, Gladius ducked, swung his axe immediately , it made contact with his stomach , deep into it , blood rushed out, he coughed blood, but before Gladius completed raised his head , Adrastos held it , slammed his knee on it , broke his nose and he jumped and added a kick to it with his last ounce of strength, aimed his sword at his thigh and buried it in it , Gladius groaned in pain and fixed his axe on Adrastos' back , threw him away from himself, Hector quickly ran and caught him, blood was all over Adrastos, couldn't even tell where the blood was coming from
"Stay with me my friend " King Hector said, completely broken
"I'm afraid , this last order I won't be able to fulfill my Lord, I hope Aeres isn't dead yet so I can die before him too, I brought this upon him , I guess he isn't as lucky as I was, surviving so many wars at a young age , I'll apologize to him when I see him, and you, my King, you can die now and wait for Eraga to..." he coughed blood and continued
"....to join us"
"say not another word my friend, save your breath " King Hector said
"No my King , let me go with a..." he coughed more blood , he wheezed and continued
"Thank you for everything, no matter what happened....I still never regretted being with you, you are indeed the greatest King ever....a single mistake cannot define you " Adrastos said profoundly, with his dying breath
" No thank you Adrastos , my dear friend, if I had listened to you none of this would have happened, perhaps it's too late for regrets. Go my friend, for I shall join you soon and we shall drink together with our families once again. I declare you, Greece strongest soldier, stronger than even leonardis " King Hector responded , closed his eyes, removed the axe and laid him on the floor, he stood up exhaled, held his forehead, looking pale and genuinely exhausted
" So what now?" he asked
" Time for you to join him, obviously " Emperor Gladius replied
King Hector sighed and said
"I'm tired of fighting "
"what!?, so that's it?, you're just gonna give up, even though I'm severely injured ?"
"What difference would it make? ,take a good look me, Gladius, your injuries are nothing compared to mine. I've got no more fight left in me, I have nothing left to fight for "
"I have waited all my life for this just for you to chicken out , what a shame " Emperor Gladius said
"There's no greater shame than not being able to defend your kingdom, I'm sorry but I no longer feel shame , you've stripped me naked, nothing left to feel, nothing left to see , nothing left to say , you have won my friend, let's not drag this any further ,I'm no longer the King of Greece you so envy and despised ,I am now no more than a common man" Hector claimed
"So what now, Hector ?, you don't wanna fight, what do you want ?"
"Just like your grandfather did, I want to stay here with my soldiers, bury every single one of them and meet my end while doing it " Hector said
" What?, such a pity. To meet your end in such manner , I can't say it makes me sad but it is indeed a tragedy " Emperor Gladius interjected
"I cannot think of a better way to go after losing this miserable. I have never asked you for anything before, please spare me this " Hector pleaded
"No, no, no, don't beg for your life, it irritates me , a soldier must never beg for his life nor a King" Emperor Gladius said, exhaled and continued
"You truly were a great adversary. As your last wish, I will spare you this, not because of pity but because the long thirst of your blood cannot be quenched while being this weak,pathetic and vulnerable, I have long longed to thirst the blood of King Hector, but as you said earlier, King Hector is no more , I already murdered him in the most brutal way possible" Emperor Gladius stated
"Thank you Gladius, see you in hell and by the way, I remember Aslron" Hector said
"Yes , Aslron , he-"
"Save it , it's useless now, you cannot hurt me anymore, I'd rather die with curiousity than grasp what have become of him " King Hector abruptly interrupted Emperor Gladius, it wrenched him to hear about Aslron, he was too afraid to know what Aslron did .
Emperor Gladius laughed and aforesaid
" Such a shame , worry not , I will murder him alongside, Philemon and Dorian , Greeks disgusts me , the time of my need for them has reached it's end "
"Goodbye Gladius, see you in hell" King Hector said as he stood up and started digging with his sword
" it really got to him, burying thousands of soldiers is impossible, doing it with a sword is unimaginable. Such pitiful end ,I almost feel bad for him " Emperor Gladius expressed, he turned his back against Hector and said
"Farewell Hector , farewell Howelbr, farewell the Meladies " he leaped his way out , meanwhile Hector still digging looked up to sky and the warmth of the sun touched his pale skin for the last time. He reached out , his eyes red and watery , the darkness slowly began to disappear in Howelbr,the curse began to fade away in fulfillment, Hector kept digging and digging and digging !.
