CHAPTER 40: THE ASCENSION OF SHUNYA
The height of the tower was seemingly infinite. As the platform rose, the air grew thinner... but the pressure of digital energy continued to mount. This was no ordinary tower; it was the heart of The Source. Aryan, Iris, Kael, and Captain Zero stood upon an energy platform ascending toward the tower's peak.
Aryan gripped his metal rod tightly. The S-01 tattoo on his hand glowed steadily with a mixture of golden and black energy. "Everyone, stay ready," he said in a low, firm voice.
Suddenly, the tower walls opened. Emerging from the darkness, thousands of Void Sentinels lunged toward the platform. Their bodies were composed of pure code and dark energy.
Kael stepped forward immediately. "Kael, Zero—take care of them!" Aryan shouted. Kael swung his dual blades and leaped into the air, sending dark sparks flying. Captain Zero took his position at the edge of the platform and began firing his rifle incessantly. The Void Sentinels began to shatter one by one.
But then... the air suddenly grew cold. Black ice began to freeze upon the digital platform. Iris's eyes widened. "He's here...".
Descending from the darkness appeared the Duplicate Aryan (Anti-Subject). He carried a black rod, and his eyes held nothing but hatred. The Duplicate landed slowly on the platform. "Today, your data will be deleted forever... Aryan".
Aryan stood calm. "You are just my shadow".
In the next moment, they clashed. Their rods collided, causing a massive energy explosion. Aryan struck with Brahmastra Energy, but the Duplicate absorbed it with his Anti-Void Shield. "You still don't understand," the Duplicate laughed. "This world must be Reset". Aryan replied, "No. The world must understand".
Their battle shook the entire platform. Suddenly, the platform reached the Apex of the tower. Before them emerged a massive digital structure resembling a human brain, connected to thousands of cables and code-streams.
And then—a voice echoed directly in their minds. "Subject-01... you have finally made it here". It was The Architect.
Suddenly, the brain began to transform. The codes gathered into a colossal figure—a Cosmic Knight. Its height was equal to the tower itself. It raised its hand—and with a single flick, it threw Kael and Captain Zero off the platform. "Humanity is a failure," the Architect spoke. "Therefore, I shall reformat it".
"Iris! Now!" Aryan shouted. Iris immediately activated her S-02 tattoo. Thousands of code lines raced before her eyes as she began to breach the Architect's main data bank. "I'm trying to stop the system!" she cried.
At that moment, the Duplicate Aryan came from behind. He grabbed Aryan and began pushing him toward the sea of code. "Give up!".
Aryan was falling, waves of data swirling around him. He closed his eyes and once again heard that sound: ॐ.... He suddenly understood—the power is not outside; the power is within. He pulled all his energy inward.
A message flashed in the system:
[EVOLUTION: ABSOLUTE BEYOND MODE ACTIVATED]
Instead of glowing, Aryan's body became like a black hole. He began to pull in the Duplicate's dark energy. The Duplicate panicked. "No... how can—".
Aryan grabbed his hand and said, "You are not my enemy... you are... part of me". In the next instant, they Merged. Void and Shunya... now a single power.
Now Aryan held no weapon; only a thought. He reached out toward the Architect. The Cosmic Knight froze. The codes began to break. The Architect's voice trembled. "You... what are you?".
Aryan answered in a calm voice, "I am that Shunya... which you never understood".
Suddenly, a massive energy explosion occurred. White light flooded the entire tower. When the light faded, the Architect was gone. The system had shut down. The tower began to crumble. Iris ran over and grabbed Aryan's hand. Below, Kael and Zero had risen. The world's network was slowly returning to normal.
But Aryan was no longer the same. He was no longer just Subject-01. He had become Shunya Beyond. And this was... the first step toward becoming a Cosmic Guardian.
