Chapter 48 - Chapter 48: Haki to the Rescue! The Boy Named Jieming Jiexi!

The frail boy endured the excruciating pain in his abdomen that felt like his insides were churning. Struggling, he actually managed to stand up again, swaying unsteadily.

"L-Let... Jieming go!"

Saint Shaman was taken aback for a moment, then let out an even more maniacal laugh.

"You lowly commoner, didn't you want to save him? Come on!" She curled her finger contemptuously:

"With that body of yours about to fall apart? Such disgusting resilience."

Saint Shaman turned to look at the other boy pinned beneath her high heel.

"Jiexi, don't worry about me! Otherwise you'll die too!" Jieming screamed with all his might.

Saint Shaman's smile grew even more cruel.

"Touching, truly touching." Saint Shaman sighed softly, her tone full of mockery:

"The bond between slaves is always so... cheap and laughable."

Saint Shaman grinned viciously as she raised her pistol, aiming it at Jieming beneath her foot.

"Guards, hold down that commoner for me!"

Two CP Agents in black suits quickly moved behind Jiexi.

They seized the boy's shoulders from both sides, pinning him in place.

"No—don't shoot!" The restrained Jiexi struggled desperately, pleading bitterly.

"Please, Lady Saint Shaman, we'll do anything, please don't kill him!"

Saint Shaman turned a deaf ear.

The sound of the bullet being chambered was crisp and cold.

Saint Shaman was savoring this moment.

Watching the slaves suffer, break down, and despair, she felt a twisted sense of pleasure welling up from the depths of her heart.

Taking pleasure in torturing slaves, watching them struggle and resist, then completely crushing their hopes.

To her, this was the ultimate enjoyment.

Every time she saw life extinguished before her eyes, every time she heard desperate wails, it made her feel her supreme power.

The power over life and death, all at her whim.

Jieming, who was being trampled underfoot, suddenly roared angrily, using his last bit of strength to lift his head:

"Come on! Kill me! I've had enough!"

"But Jiexi is innocent! Let him go!"

Saint Shaman raised her delicate eyebrows: "Oh? Pleading for your companion even at death's door? What foolish sacrificial spirit."

Her finger slowly moved toward the trigger. She wanted to prolong these two slaves' fear to the maximum extent, savoring every moment of their despair.

"No! Save us! Is there anyone who can save us—" Jiexi was filled with despair at this moment.

But in this world, who would challenge a Celestial Dragon for two slaves?

Who would oppose the World Government for two insignificant lives?

The answer was no one. Never.

Jiexi closed his eyes, preparing for the gunshot that would kill his brother, and his own inevitable fate that would follow.

To be tortured to death, their bodies thrown into the sea, leaving no trace behind.

Just like they had never existed, insignificant as ants.

Hum—

An invisible force swept over like a tide, instantly enveloping the entire ship.

Space solidified at this moment.

Time seemed to stop flowing.

Everyone on the deck felt themselves unable to move.

The World Government flag, which should have been fluttering in the wind, hung eerily still in mid-air.

Even the bullet fired by Saint Shaman, which had already left the barrel, hung suspended in the air.

Tap... tap... tap...

Slow, deliberate footsteps echoed from the shore of the dock.

Everyone on the ship shifted their eyes, following the sound.

There stood a young man with black hair and crimson eyes, his expression cold and stern.

He wore a black trench coat open at the chest, the hem swaying without any wind.

A long black sword hung at his waist, and he exuded a suffocating Haki.

The man approached step by step, his footsteps heavy, dark red Haki crackling and exploding around him like lightning.

Moreover, he held something in his left hand.

Upon closer inspection, it was a swollen figure with a bruised face and broken limbs.

A Celestial Dragon.

A Celestial Dragon being dragged along like a dead dog.

Raiver Sky reached the shore and stopped. His figure vanished, only to reappear in the center of the deck.

He looked at Saint Shaman, a red glint flashing in his eyes.

Swish! Swish!

In the next instant, Saint Shaman's right hand, holding the gun, was cleanly severed at the wrist. The silver pistol and the severed hand fell onto the deck together.

Almost simultaneously, the left foot she had used to stomp on Jieming was severed at the ankle, the high heel and the severed foot rolling aside.

After a brief delay, blood gushed from the clean cuts.

"Ahhh—!"

Saint Shaman let out a heart-wrenching scream.

Having lost a foot, she lost her balance and fell heavily backward onto the deck.

The frozen space returned to normal in that instant.

Raiver Sky casually tossed the middle-aged Celestial Dragon he had been carrying onto the deck as if discarding trash.

"That... that's Saint Luo?!" The CP0 Guardian in a white suit and white mask felt his pupils contract sharply.

Impossible!

Shouldn't Saint Luo be in the palace? Under the close protection of two other CP0 colleagues? How could he possibly be here?

And in such a state—his limbs clearly brutally broken, his face bruised and swollen, one eye too swollen to open, blood and foam continuously spilling from the corner of his mouth.

Even more terrifying, this arrogant World Noble had just been dragged along like a dead dog, stripped of all dignity.

It's over. This is completely over.

The CP0 Guardian's mind raced, but he only felt a chilling cold.

Not only had this man severely injured Saint Shaman, but he had also beaten Saint Luo to a pulp and dragged him here like trash.

What were those two colleagues guarding Saint Luo doing?! How could they not even notice he had been kidnapped?!

Or... were they already...

The CP0 Guardian didn't dare to think further.

"CP0! Save... save me! Kill this lowlife—!!"

Saint Luo, as if clutching at his last hope, screamed with all his might.

He struggled to crawl toward the CP0 Guardian, but with his legs broken, he could only writhe uselessly on the deck, leaving trails of blood.

In his eyes, Raiver Sky was nothing less than a demon.

He completely disregarded the identity of a Celestial Dragon, broke his legs, crippled his hands... his methods were unbearably cruel.

In Raiver Sky's grasp, he truly felt the fear of death, terrified that in the next second his head would be separated from his body.

Before this man, the words "Celestial Dragon" seemed to have lost all meaning.

"Bastard! Release Saint Luo immediately! Otherwise, you, your relatives, friends, companions—everyone connected to you—will all be sentenced to death by the World Government!"

The CP0 Guardian suppressed the fear in his heart and shouted sharply.

His fists instantly became coated with jet-black Armament Haki, his Observation Haki fully activated, his mind highly focused as he assumed the most guarded combat stance.

No matter what, he had to save Saint Luo first.

That way, even if he returned to Mary Geoise, his punishment might be lessened.

As for Saint Shaman, although her injuries were severe, she could likely survive if treated promptly.

The most important thing now was to stabilize the situation, wait for reinforcements, or... search for a chance of survival.
