Mishu's Shadow Clone Jutsu and Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique were both learned from Kyosuke.
Kyosuke had relentless pestered Minato Namikaze to teach them to him.
Over the past few days, to ensure Mishu could safely pass his practical combat training, Kyosuke and the other three had truly given it their all. Not only did they intensify their daily training—practicing Ninjutsu like the Shadow Clone and Great Fireball—but they also held meetings late into the night to analyze situations and formulate plans.
This cave was the "Total Extermination Plan" formulated by the five of them. It was intended as Mishu's ultimate trump card.
And since it was a Total Extermination Plan, it naturally left no path for survival.
After Mishu released the Great Fireball, he felt the massive drain on his Chakra. His breathing was rapid, and his body was extremely exhausted. Yet, he still forced his trembling hands to continue forming seals.
"Earth Release: Rock Slide!"
The Rock Slide technique came from Tasaka Sensuke's master, Pakura. Once cast, the mountainside directly above the cave's exit began to collapse.
Rocks of all sizes rained down, forming a thick, impenetrable barrier that completely sealed off the exit.
"No!!!"
Inside, Kaguya Chūhei and the others were risking their lives to rush through the flames. Their clothes were ignited and their skin burned, but compared to the solid rock barrier that suddenly slammed down before them, the pain meant nothing.
They had completely lost any hope of survival.
After finishing the jutsu, Mishu's body was incredibly weak. He slowly slid down with his back against the cave wall, gasping for air. Only his right hand still tightly gripped his short sword.
After resting for a moment, Mishu recovered a fraction of his strength. He forced himself to stand, preparing to check on the Takano brothers.
In truth, for the sake of safety, Mishu should have left immediately to find a hidden place to recuperate. This battle had involved many people and caused quite a stir; the noise and smoke might very well attract others.
However, although Mishu was not a "good person," he still had his bottom line.
He either wouldn't agree to something, or if he did, he would never go back on his word.
If the Takano brothers were dead, there was nothing more to be said. But if they had luckily survived, Mishu fully intended to save them.
Reaching the spot where the brothers had fallen, Mishu checked them quickly. Takano Hiroshi was dead. Takano Ishi was more fortunate; although he had a severe abdominal wound, he was still breathing.
Mishu hoisted Ishi onto his back and left quickly. He headed to a hiding spot he had prepared long ago to treat their wounds and wait out the exhaustion.
For the next day, Mishu stayed hidden and did not venture out. Ishi eventually regained consciousness. By the time the training exercise officially ended, the two of them had finally reached the seaside.
When they had arrived on this island five days ago, there were over two hundred students. Now, there were only eighty or ninety people gathered at the shore.
Most of them were injured. Everyone's eyes glinted with a fierce, haunted light, like wild beasts ready to devour anyone in their path.
"I didn't expect you to survive. Kaguya Chūhei and the others really are useless!"
While Mishu waited for the ships to appear, Zabuza, Rinko, Hozuki Naoto, and the others showed up. Rinko immediately spoke out in provocation, only drawing a chillingly calm glance from Mishu.
Because he had killed so many people, Mishu was now radiating a palpable killing intent. That single glance felt as if he were looking at a dead man.
Seeing this, Hozuki Naoto was secretly alarmed. He instinctively pulled Rinko back a few steps and spoke up to ease the heavy atmosphere.
"Hehehe, we've all passed the training. We should have a good meal when we get back. How about I treat everyone to dinner?"
Over the past few days, the most active and dominant people on the island had been Mishu, Zabuza, Rinko, and Naoto. Naoto's proposal was a calculated attempt to bring them closer and build up his network of connections.
As a descendant of a great clan, Naoto had been deeply influenced by family politics. He knew the importance of connections. Even though they were just children now, in a few years, they might become the vital pillars of the village.
Faced with this proposal, Zabuza looked at the others, cast a few long glances at Mishu, and then walked away silently.
Rinko snorted and said in a lecturing tone, "Naoto, you idiot. Look at the relationship between us; there's no way they'd agree."
Just as Rinko finished speaking, Mishu opened his mouth.
"Fine. I want to eat meat, so prepare plenty of money."
Hearing Mishu's words, Rinko almost tripped over her own tongue. She stared fiercely at him. "You're doing this on purpose, aren't you? Just to go against me."
If there was meat to eat, why wouldn't he? Prices in the Hidden Mist Village were even higher than in Konoha, and Mishu wanted to eat meat every day.
Mishu didn't bother to entertain Rinko's anger. He turned his head to look at the sea, where ships had finally appeared on the horizon. His dismissive attitude ignited Rinko's temper once again.
Seeing Mishu agree so readily, Naoto was a bit stunned, but he recovered quickly. "Don't worry, we'll go to a BBQ shop, and you can eat as much as you like."
As they spoke, the ships docked. Suikazan Fuguki's massive figure appeared at the bow. Looking at the brutal transformation in the students, he nodded with satisfaction and prepared to lead them back to the village.
On the ship, Fuguki listened to his subordinates' reports, learning about the bloodbaths on the island. He noted several people who had performed exceptionally well. Among them was Mishu.
Meanwhile, in Konoha Village, Minato Namikaze was guiding Kyosuke and the others in their training.
"Kyosuke, your talent is very good, and you learn Ninjutsu quickly, but you are too eager for success," Minato lectured mildly. "You've only just learned the Shadow Clone and haven't yet learned to apply it fully, yet you've already rushed to learn the Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique. And now you want to learn even more new Ninjutsu. This will lead to many hidden problems down the line."
Minato had originally prepared a stern lecture, but seeing Kyosuke's humble demeanor and his "good student" posture, his tone unconsciously softened.
"You must understand that Ninjutsu is merely a means. After learning a technique, you must thoroughly understand its principles and devise suitable tactics to unleash its true power. If you focus only on quantity, even if you learn many techniques, how many can you actually use effectively during a high-stakes battle?"
Kyosuke understood perfectly what Minato meant. In anime, many powerful characters only commonly used a select few Ninjutsu during their battles.
For example, with the protagonist Naruto, his main means of attack was forming Rasengans—forming all kinds of variations of Rasengans—yet he still managed to deal with all sorts of enemies.
It wasn't that they didn't know other Ninjutsu, but rather that there are only twenty-four hours in a day. It's impossible to study every technique deeply. To use gaming terms, it's impossible to max out the proficiency of every skill, so one can only cultivate the Ninjutsu that best suits them.
Feeling Minato's genuine concern, Kyosuke sincerely admitted his mistake.
"I understand, Teacher. Because I was born a commoner, I craved mastering more and more powerful Ninjutsu to feel secure. Thinking back now, I was indeed too impatient. From now on, I will solidify my foundation and will not fail your expectations. In the future, I will definitely become a powerful ninja like you, Teacher."
Look at how beautifully Kyosuke spoke. Not only did he reflect on his own mistakes, but he perfectly flattered Minato. Moreover, these were Kyosuke's true feelings—he wasn't acting. Becoming a powerhouse like Minato Namikaze was indeed his genuine ambition.
Minato looked at Kyosuke's earnest face and grew to like him more and more. Talented, respectful, possessing a good character, and well-spoken—any teacher would cherish such a student.
Having successfully pulled Kyosuke back from the wrong path, Minato felt a surge of accomplishment.
He smiled. "Don't be so serious. It's normal for children to want to learn powerful Ninjutsu; I was the exact same way in the past. I'm just reminding you not to become obsessed."
As the teaching ended and they were about to disperse, Minato hesitated. A rare, uncharacteristic expression of bashfulness appeared on his face.
"Ha, well, um... I'd actually like to ask you all for a favor."
