It was her twenty-three-year-old vice-assistant, Nathan Black, who was primarily in charge of distributing her works to the market and who, alongside Kelly, the Literary Agent, and the main assistant, both served as publicists, managing her media relations, securing interviews, reviews, and press coverage to get her noticed by the public. They were incredible, and Evie was really happy to see Nathan, whom she hadn't met in a very long time.
"Good to see you, boss!" Nathan said with a light grin. He felt the urge to rush over and hug Evie, but his introverted, reserved nature held him back. He thought it would seem too awkward, especially with everyone staring.
"Nathan! I never thought you would show up with Kelly. How have you been?" Evie asked enthusiastically.
"I'm good," Nathan replied. They started walking toward Kelly.
Kelly, who had been smiling, stepped forward. "Good afternoon, boss." She rose slightly to give Evie a quick, affectionate hug.
