Lin Yi's current body had already reached its limit.
Although the blessing of Abundance could heal it, there was no real need. A basic repair was enough for it to keep functioning.
He leaned back for a moment.
It had been quite a while since one of his bodies had been destroyed. Yet during this trip, two bodies had been ruined in such a short time.
After resting briefly, Lin Yi used his newly repaired eyes to look out through the bridge of the Rainbowlight Ship.
Floating nearby were the wreckage of "The Rarest in the World" and the surviving people still aboard it.
Lin Yi rubbed his forehead.
"Let's rescue them first. Aha protected them earlier, so they were fine—but now that Aha has left, that pile of scrap metal won't keep anyone alive in space."
Reuniting with his friend so soon after their last farewell made Argenti quite happy.
However, conversations could wait.
Argenti and the few people still capable of moving helped the others, slowly transferring everyone from the ruined ship onto the Rainbowlight Ship.
Trip after trip, they carefully assisted the survivors aboard.
And then—
The Preservation Aeon, Qlipoth, appeared.
A towering body of amber light rose before them, vast and majestic.
The Aeon lifted the Hammer of Creation.
The sound of the hammer echoed across the universe.
A new Amber Era had begun.
The Harmony Festival planned for the year 2157 on Penacony—still in preparation—was instantly rendered obsolete.
Though it didn't really matter.
They could simply treat it as belonging to the new era.
The hammer strike resounded across the cosmos.
Whether Qlipoth had swung that hammer to repair the wall—or to repair Aha—no one could say.
But everyone present saw it clearly.
The immense figure of the Amber Lord wielding the hammer.
Soon enough, the gravitational shockwaves and starquakes would spread throughout the universe.
Qlipoth's control over power was perfect.
The wall was repaired.
Aha disappeared.
Everyone present remained completely unharmed.
Even the two damaged ships were repaired along the way, their hulls now glowing faintly with amber light.
The IPC would probably be extremely jealous of those ships.
The intersecting void scars created by the Decay Engines were also sealed.
All the Decay Engine remnants aboard both ships were crushed.
Lin Yi soon received confirmation: every Decay Engine he had deployed elsewhere had also been destroyed.
All of that—
With a single hammer strike.
One strike, and the Preservation Aeon had done all of this.
It had the feeling of overwhelming brute force—
"One strength shatters ten thousand techniques."
After the hammer strike, Qlipoth did not disappear immediately.
Lin Yi could feel the Aeon's gaze resting on him.
Silent.
Watching.
Thinking.
Lin Yi hadn't panicked even while the arrow chased him earlier.
He had even wanted to laugh.
But now—
he was actually nervous.
The arrow hadn't been meant to kill him.
But Qlipoth?
Hard to say.
After all, that hammer had just smashed every Decay Engine in existence.
Clearly, that technology had interfered with the Amber Lord's great work of preserving the universe.
What if the Aeon decided smashing the engines wasn't enough—
and crushed the person who knew how to build them as well?
But thinking about it carefully…
If Qlipoth intended to smash him, the Aeon could have done so earlier.
Lin Yi didn't think he was important enough for Qlipoth to personally swing another hammer.
Even the Aeon of Propagation had only required three strikes.
"Um… Amber Lord, this wasn't my fault."
"This whole mess was Aha's doing."
"And the Decay Engine… I definitely won't use it again."
"…Actually, that's not right. I'll try not to use it again."
After being smashed by Qlipoth once, Lin Yi actually felt the Decay Engine had great potential.
Still, he had used it several times before, which was why he knew its performance so well.
Yet he had never been smashed back then.
Maybe the technology simply hadn't been worth the effort of a dedicated hammer strike.
Perhaps this time, since Qlipoth was already here repairing the wall—
it was just convenient to deal with it all at once.
Lin Yi's thoughts raced.
But outwardly, only a moment passed.
Suddenly, he seemed to remember something.
"Right! This."
With the arrow gone and the spatial lock lifted, Lin Yi teleported something from Divine Firmament Space City.
A strange crystal appeared in his hands.
"I offer this to you, O Aeon who preserves the universe."
He presented the object with both hands.
The crystal shimmered strangely.
Its shape was irregular.
Just looking at it made people dizzy, as if their minds were being overloaded.
Lin Yi called it:
"Hypermnemonic Prism."
The name was temporary.
He had discovered the object during a journey long ago.
A group of Masked Fools had tricked him into visiting Lafkadio, claiming there was a once-in-existence scenic wonder there.
Though it had been a prank—
he had obtained this crystal as an unexpected reward.
Lin Yi still didn't fully understand its properties.
However, simply placing it near a Subspace Crystal Wall could cause damaged sections of the wall to repair themselves.
Under special conditions, it could also produce Hypermnemonic Alloy, an incredibly resilient material.
Extremely hard.
Extremely flexible.
Extremely impact-resistant.
Once formed, it could not be reshaped.
Any deformation would instantly revert.
Whether the prism could help repair the Celestial Wall constructed by Qlipoth…
Lin Yi had no idea.
No one had ever tested that.
Even the strongest weapons could barely scratch the Celestial Wall.
And honestly—
even those weapons probably wouldn't break it.
Besides, both the IPC and Qlipoth kept watch.
No one dared openly experiment on destroying it.
Under Lin Yi's gravity control, the crystal floated forward toward Qlipoth.
Then stopped mid-space.
Lin Yi waited.
A flash of amber light.
Qlipoth accepted the crystal.
In return, a small amber stone—no larger than a thumb—floated into Lin Yi's hand.
"Build the wall. Build the wall."
"Exchange. Build the wall."
And then—
Qlipoth vanished.
The IPC employees present looked utterly stunned.
Dongfang Qiqing and the others stared in disbelief.
"Am I dreaming?"
"How did we see this many Aeons in one day?"
"Ah! Why are you pinching me?! Pinch yourself!"
"Sorry… I'm mentally exhausted."
"Hey! Stop pinching!"
"It's impossible… absolutely impossible…"
"The Amber Lord actually accepted an offering from a mortal…"
"The IPC will go crazy when they hear about this."
"…Wait, I am the IPC."
"Oh. Never mind."
Dongfang Qiqing eventually calmed the chaotic crowd.
Then she approached Lin Yi.
She lifted the edge of her skirt and bowed politely.
Her composure was remarkable.
After everything that had just happened—
she still managed to remain calm.
"Excuse me…"
"Are you the renowned traveler across the stars… the Genius Society's No. 85, Lin Yi?"
"Yes."
"And you are?"
"My name is Dongfang Qiqing."
"You could say I come from… the Company."
"Dongfang?"
"Are you related to Dongfang Qiming?"
"He is one of my elders."
"Elder, huh."
"Interesting word choice."
"Close enough to imply connection, but distant enough to stay vague."
"But don't try clever word games with me."
"I meant no such thing!"
She hurriedly explained.
Lin Yi waved it off.
"Fine. Doesn't matter."
"So why are you here?"
"Want me to send you to Pier Point?"
"I can do that."
Dongfang Qiqing hesitated.
Then finally spoke.
"I… wish to follow you."
"Like the scholars of Divine Firmament Space City."
Lin Yi raised an eyebrow.
"You mean like Asta and Herta?"
"Using my name to avoid certain troubles?"
Her intentions were instantly exposed.
Dongfang Qiqing froze.
But before she could respond—
Lin Yi spoke again.
"Fine."
"I accept."
"But you'll have to prove your ability."
"When we return to Space City, you'll take charge of all administrative affairs."
"Starting now."
"You're the City Lord of Divine Firmament Space City."
Dongfang Qiqing stood there, stunned.
She had expected difficulty.
Instead—
her goal had been achieved almost instantly.
Lin Yi also realized he might have been a bit too casual.
He added:
"Remember."
"I want results."
"If you're not capable, leave on your own before I have to kick you out."
In truth—
Lin Yi had been looking for someone like this.
The city was full of geniuses and researchers.
But someone capable of managing all the chaos?
That was rare.
Right now the city technically belonged to him.
But in practice—
he practiced "governing by doing nothing."
Sometimes Zhuixing would step in to manage things for a few days—
before becoming exhausted and quitting again.
Dongfang Qiqing's face flushed red.
"I won't disappoint you!"
Lin Yi nodded.
"Alright."
"This isn't the place for discussion."
"Aha left behind a massive mess."
"Qlipoth handled the big part, but countless small problems remain."
"We should head to Pier Point again."
"The Company is experienced with this kind of thing."
Lin Yi quietly shifted part of the blame onto Aha.
Both the Company—and Aha himself—would probably accept that explanation.
Lin Yi then picked up Zhuixing's corpse from the pool of blood.
He placed it into a cultivation chamber.
"First time she's died."
"Might as well keep the body as a souvenir."
He also intended to retrieve his own corpse from the Xianzhou.
Same reason.
A souvenir.
Suddenly a strange thought appeared in his mind.
"From now on, when I swear an oath…"
"I can literally say 'If I fail, I'll present my head.'"
True: Presenting the head.jpg
Dongfang Qiqing cautiously asked:
"Lin Yi… who is she?"
"My student."
"Oh… my condolences—"
"She's not dead."
"She's like me."
Dongfang Qiqing blinked.
Every word made sense.
But together—
none of it did.
"You didn't read the news recently?"
"I thought it was trending."
"…We were disconnected from the galactic network."
She opened her phone.
The top trending topic still read:
"Lin Yi Dead."
She looked at Lin Yi.
Then her phone.
Then Lin Yi again.
"…Am I dreaming?"
Lin Yi sighed.
"Stop joking around."
"Wait… damn."
"The Xianzhou still thinks I'm dead."
"Jing Yuan must be having a terrible month."
He shrugged.
"Well, not my problem."
"Prepare for warp."
But just when everyone thought things were finally over—
another arrow appeared in the cosmos.
Everyone nearly had PTSD.
Thankfully—
this one flashed and vanished instantly.
This time—
it was the real Arrow of Lan.
Not the slow imitation arrow from before.
Aha's voice echoed again.
"Ahahaha!"
"Missed again!"
"You're terrible at aiming!"
Hundreds of arrows appeared.
Then vanished.
Then—
millions of arrows flooded the sky.
No one knew whether they hit anything.
But one thing was certain.
Aha stopped laughing.
