"We survived the Whispering Hall," Maya said softly, though her voice carried an edge of tension. "But I don't think the House is done with us."
From the far end of the hall, a door they hadn't noticed before creaked open on its own. Beyond it lay a narrow spiral staircase descending into darkness.
Arjun swallowed hard. "Looks like… the real hunt begins here."
🕯 The DescentStep by step, they descended. The air grew colder, heavier, as if pressing against their lungs. Each creak of the wooden steps sounded like a scream in the silence.
At the bottom, they found a circular chamber — the walls carved with hundreds of small mirrors, each reflecting not their faces, but moments of their past: mistakes, regrets, and fears magnified.

Arjun glanced at Maya. "This… is another test."

⚔ The IllusionsThe mirrors shimmered, then warped. Suddenly, Arjun found himself standing alone — Maya nowhere in sight. In the reflection, shadows of him — twisted, monstrous versions — stepped forward, whispering:

"She won't survive this house!"
Arjun gritted his teeth, remembering the laughter of past adventures with Maya, the courage that had brought them this far. He stepped toward the reflection, defying the twisted shapes.
At the same moment, Maya faced her own illusions: herself turning away from danger, abandoning Arjun, trapped by doubt. She clenched her fists and remembered the trust between them. The shadows recoiled, hissing in anger.
🌟 Reunited and StrongerA burst of light erupted as they simultaneously touched the mirrors, shattering the illusions. In the shards, they saw one clear reflection: themselves, united, determined, unbroken.
The chamber trembled, then a section of the wall slid open, revealing a hidden vault. Inside, atop a pedestal, rested a small obsidian box engraved with silver runes.
"This… is what the House wants us to find," Maya whispered.
Arjun nodded. "Whatever it is, it's important. And dangerous."
As they approached, the box vibrated, humming with power. Shadows swirled around them — not attacking, but guarding, as if the House itself acknowledged their worth.
Together, Arjun and Maya opened the box. Inside lay an ancient compass, its needle spinning wildly, pointing not north, but… somewhere else. Somewhere calling them further into the International Hunt.
Maya turned to Arjun. "Looks like the Shadow House isn't finished yet. Our journey… has only just begun."
Arjun smiled grimly. "Then we go… wherever it leads."
The compass glowed, the shadows bowed, and the next stage of the hunt began.
