'Sharingan?!'
Yugito was stunned. Sasuke had never used his Sharingan in their previous encounters.
He was completely different from the Uchiha she had encountered during the Third Shinobi World War and on missions, who would eagerly reveal their Sharingan from the start.
Yugito had almost forgotten that this Thunder-Fire Dual Prodigy was even an Uchiha.
Or rather, she had subconsciously dismissed the possibility that Sasuke possessed the Sharingan.
Yugito's expression darkened. A sudden wave of dizziness washed over her, followed by excruciating pain radiating from her limbs, as if they had been pierced by nails. Her evasive movements abruptly halted.
Sasuke flashed forward again, closing the distance to less than ten meters.
A flicker of flame seemed to ignite in his crimson, menacing eyes. His hands tensed, muscles bulging with power as he drew his sword in a lightning-fast slash!
'Wild Gale Sword!'
Boom!
A massive blade of crimson fire erupted as he drew his sword. The raging flames surged like a tidal wave, engulfing the immobilized Yugito and threatening to consume her entirely.
But in the next moment, within Yugito's inner world, a colossal feline demon engulfed in blue Chakra flames suddenly snapped its eyes open.
Gazing at the distant sea of flames, Naruto's eyes widened in disbelief.
In all their sparring matches over the past few years, Sasuke had only ever fought hand-to-hand. When limited to taijutsu alone, Sasuke was even slightly weaker than Naruto.
Though he had never won a single match, Naruto had always estimated Sasuke's overall strength to be only slightly superior to his own.
Even after their last mission, when Sasuke had defeated the seemingly formidable rogue ninja Aoi Rokusho, Naruto still clung to this belief.
Now, after witnessing Sasuke's true power in this battle, Naruto realized how laughably wrong he had been.
The Sasuke in combat, the Sasuke wielding weapons, was a world apart from the bare-handed, sparring Sasuke he knew.
'So this is Sasuke's true power?!' Naruto clenched his fist, momentarily disheartened, but quickly rallied himself.
"I guess so..." Sakura, equally wide-eyed and bewildered, nodded blankly beside him.
As soon as she finished speaking, the two stunned youths exchanged a glance, then nodded in unison, silently steeling their resolve.
Hidden high above in the towering buildings, the two Anbu elite squads stared in stunned silence, their minds blank.
"Is that... a Genin?" one Anbu murmured, swallowing hard as he watched the distant battle, his voice trembling.
Tenzo nodded silently. After a moment, he said grimly, "Strictly speaking, he's still a Genin, yes."
At his words, the Anbu exchanged uneasy glances, falling into an eerie silence.
"The newcomers in the village these days are truly monstrous," another Anbu said with a dry laugh, shaking himself out of his daze.
Judging by Uchiha Sasuke's demonstrated power, he could wipe out their entire squad without much trouble—except for Captain Tenzo, of course.
"Indeed," Tenzo agreed, his gaze fixed on the flames below, his expression grave.
Sasuke's display of power left even him unsure of his chances in a direct confrontation.
While the emergence of a new-generation prodigy in the village was a good thing, the Cloud Ninja couldn't be allowed to die at Sasuke's hands. After all, she was a Jinchūriki!
Fortunately, after carefully sensing the flames, Tenzo confirmed that Yugito was still alive and well.
Her Chakra wasn't diminishing; on the contrary, it was growing stronger and more immense.
Tenzo wiped the cold sweat from his brow and said grimly, "Prepare yourselves! We're moving in!"
"Yes, sir!"
BOOM!
A deafening roar erupted from the heart of the massive sea of flames. A colossal wave of tangible blue chakra burst forth, violently pushing the flames outward in all directions.
A figure materialized amidst the chaos, their body wreathed in blue chakra patterned like cat markings, a tail of blue flames flickering behind them.
It was Yugito!
Yugito appeared somewhat disheveled, bearing minor burns and scorch marks on her shins, arms, and clothing.
Though Matatabi, the Two-Tailed Beast, had awakened her in the nick of time, she had still suffered some fire damage.
'She's entered Half-Tailed Beast Mode?' Sasuke thought, observing Yugito's tangible chakra aura and the blue tail extending from her back.
"Your Lightning Release ninjutsu is nothing special," Sasuke declared, standing tall with his sword.
Crimson flames swirled around him, making him appear like a fire god reigning supreme.
"And your so-called Fire Release ninjutsu? It's utterly laughable before the Uchiha's flames."
Gazing at Yugito in the distance, Sasuke's lips curved into a faint, sinister smirk as he murmured, "You're no match for me."
Despite these words, Sasuke's heart was filled with unprecedented caution.
Even without the Two-Tails' power, Yugito was an Elite Jonin. She was roughly the same age as Hatake Kakashi and had fought on the front lines during the Third Shinobi World War, possessing remarkable combat experience.
Both her raw power and practical combat skills surpassed Sasuke's own.
The reason Sasuke had dominated their entire battle, even nearly dealing her a fatal blow, was because she had repeated the same mistake she made in the original timeline: underestimating her opponent through arrogance and hubris.
Furthermore, Sasuke had unleashed lethal techniques from the start, relentlessly pursuing and attacking her without allowing her a moment to catch her breath.
This relentless assault had created the illusion of Sasuke's dominance.
However, this situation was about to reverse as Yugito grew serious and entered Tailed Beast Mode.
Despite these internal calculations, Sasuke maintained his composure, showing no hint of fear as if facing a mountain collapsing before him.
Huff.
Faced with Sasuke's provocation, Yugito didn't immediately attack. Instead, she took a deep breath.
Her hair stood on end, and her black pupils had vanished, replaced by a blank white expanse.
Cat-like chakra markings swirled around her scorched skin, accelerating the healing process.
Looking at Sasuke again, Yugito's face was completely devoid of disdain, arrogance, anger, or resentment.
Anyone familiar with Yugito would immediately recognize this as a sign that she was about to get serious!
"I underestimated you, Uchiha Sasuke," she said. "Your strength truly befits the name of the last Uchiha."
Yugito no longer referred to Sasuke as "that Uchiha brat," but called him by his given name.
The massacre of the Uchiha clan had been earth-shattering news throughout the shinobi world several years prior.
When various factions and organizations first heard the news, their immediate reaction was disbelief—how could one of the oldest and most revered clans in the ninja world suddenly vanish?
Their second reaction was to assume it was a smokescreen planted by that old dog, the Third Hokage.
Once the news was confirmed, every faction mobilized its intelligence networks to uncover every detail about the Uchiha clan's demise.
Yugito herself wasn't particularly interested in the specifics of the massacre.
However, she couldn't help but know the names of the perpetrator, Uchiha Itachi, and the sole survivor, Uchiha Sasuke.
