Camille didn't hesitate this time.
"You're not going back in."
Dante didn't turn from the console.
"Yes, I am."
The calm in his voice made it worse.
The girl threw her hands up. "Oh my God why is this even a debate? He literally just got possessed by a system thing"
"Not possessed," Dante corrected.
"Integrated."
"That is not better," she shot back.
Victor stayed quiet for a moment, watching Dante carefully, like he was trying to measure something that didn't have a clear shape anymore.
"Show me," Victor said finally.
Dante's gaze shifted slightly. "What."
"The door," Victor replied. "If you can access it, prove it."
Camille cut in immediately. "No absolutely not. That's exactly what it wants."
Dante shook his head once. "No. That's what it expects."
"And you think you're going to outplay something that adapts this fast?" she asked.
