Chapter 82 - Chapter 82: The Title Was Eaten by Me

"What is taking her so long?"

Mohg frowned as he looked back up the cliffside, his face masked by a mix of confusion and impatience.

Fortunately, it wasn't long before a small black speck appeared, gradually descending toward his position. After another short wait, the Chanting Winged Dame finally reached him.

The moment her feet touched the ground, her entire body went limp. She collapsed onto the stone and fell into a deep sleep almost instantly.

"Hey, what's the matter with you?"

Mohg looked down at her, baffled. The Dame was too exhausted to speak, but because it was her master asking, she forced a strained reply.

"We... our species... cannot fly that fast... I have... completely exhausted my strength... Please, forgive me..."

Mohg's expression turned flat. As for feeling guilty? No, not even a shred.

"In that case, you stay here for now. I have important matters to attend to and no time to wait. Once I'm finished, I'll send someone to fetch you."

With that, Mohg turned and began walking toward the exit of the valley.

The Winged Dame, lying on the ground drenched in sweat, widened her eyes in shock. If Mohg weren't her current master, she would have cursed him out right then and there. Her wings were practically smoking from the effort of catching up, only for him to tell her to stay behind the second she arrived!

However, she truly had no strength left to follow him. After a moment of catching her breath, she crawled into a relatively safe corner to rest.

As Mohg departed, he stumbled upon something quite unexpected: a tiny, freshly sprouted Erdtree sapling.

Given the environment and its growth pattern... case closed. This was exactly where the Tarnished would eventually find a Golden Seed.

Realizing this, Mohg's gaze grew predatory.

He wondered if he should just uproot the thing. After all, leaving it here felt like "funding the enemy" for future events.

Pop—

With the sound of breaking earth, Mohg looked around to ensure he was alone, then unceremoniously shoved the Erdtree sapling into his pocket. Better safe than sorry!

Immediately after, he wrapped the sapling in a protective sphere of fresh blood. He was curious if he could "water" the thing with blood. He wanted to see what it would grow into and if he could cultivate something entirely different.

Suddenly, a dark shadow loomed behind him.

In a flash, a streak of crimson cut through the air. Mohg retracted a whip made of solidified blood and continued walking without even turning his head.

Behind him, a Land Octopus that had tried to ambush him was now neatly sliced in half, the cut as smooth as glass.

This was a new incantation Mohg had developed: Bloodrose Whip. It condensed blood into a blade-like edge and extended it into a long, lashing whip. It was incredibly fast and lethal, though its only drawback was the need for open space to maneuver.

"Ah... Liurnia of the Lakes... Finally, a place where I can breathe a little easier."

Looking out at the vast wetlands, Mohg's lips curled into a smile. For now, this was still a blind spot where the light of the Golden Dynasty didn't reach. While his Omen status meant he'd likely still be viewed as a monster by the locals, at least the Carian family's control over the region was far less suffocating than the Golden Order's grip.

"Speaking of which... the Carian Royals are researching Albinaurics... so there should be Larval Tears around here as well. Maybe I can get my hands on some in this area..."

Mohg mused over these details as he made his way toward Liana's location.

As Gransax's gargantuan corpse crashed into the heart of the Royal Capital and slowly began to petrify into stone, Godwyn and the gathered champions finally allowed themselves a look of relief.

After days and nights of brutal combat, they had finally slain the Great Ancient Dragon. The cost was staggering; several powerful warriors had fallen. Godwyn himself was severely wounded, bearing a horrific lightning scar across his chest and a deep puncture wound left by Gransax's spear.

"Your Highness, you must be treated immediately!" Bishop Huilo (Flo) rushed to Godwyn's side, his face pale with worry.

"No need. Just cast a basic healing incantation on me for now. I am still needed here to handle the aftermath," Godwyn refused the request, looking around at the devastation with sorrowful eyes.

Under the onslaught of Gransax and his kin, the capital had been breached. Countless citizens and knights had perished in the crossfire. The sheer power of the Ancient Dragons had left a mark on everyone's heart—especially the realization that the Erdtree's Holy incantations were surprisingly ineffective against them.

This meant they would have to develop entirely new incantations to counter the dragons. It was no simple task, and they had to be careful not to wander off the "path of the Order," lest they be branded as heretics.

Huilo sighed in resignation. He wasn't in top shape either, but he obeyed Godwyn's command. Soon, a brilliant golden light erupted around them—the most powerful healing incantation Huilo knew.

Erdtree Heal!

Wherever the light touched, wounds knit back together instantly, including Huilo's own. However, his face turned even paler; he was completely out of Focus (FP).

Fortunately, the sound of rhythmic footsteps and clanking armor approached. It was Godwyn's personal guard, bringing Flasks of Wondrous Physick and Crimson Tears.

After drinking, the group's condition improved visibly. While internal injuries would still take time to mend, they were at least stable enough to deal with the chaos.

As Godwyn busied himself, a figure with long, red hair stood among the ranks, quietly observing the scene.

"Radagon! Quick, they need our help over there!"

"Understood. I'm coming!"

"What were you just looking at?"

"The First Prince... He truly is worthy of the name 'Golden'."

"I agree! We're lucky to have him... You know, now that I look at you, I think you actually look a bit like the Prince."

"It must be your imagination."
