Chapter 69 - Two Minds Against the Master

Inside the blazing battlefield of Devika's mind, the sky burned white.

Flames stretched across the horizon like a living ocean, their heat warping the air. The ground beneath them had fractured into floating plates of stone and fire, each one suspended above a dark abyss.

At the center of this burning world stood Devika.

Her body radiated white-hot flames from the awakened power of the Agnivarna Bloodline.

Beside her stood Captain Varun.

Though his mental form still flickered with weakness, the chains binding him had shattered.

For the first time since Arivaan invaded their minds—

They stood together.

Across from them, the shadowy figure of Arivaan watched calmly.

The sky behind him had darkened into an endless web of shadow chains stretching across the burning world.

The floating panel flickered beside him.

Control Stability: 64%

Host Resistance: Severe

Arivaan sighed.

"Well."

"That escalated quickly."

Devika's flames flared brighter.

"You picked the wrong mind to invade."

Varun stepped forward slowly.

His spear formed from pure mental energy appeared in his hand.

"You underestimated Rakshaks."

Arivaan shrugged.

"That happens."

But his shadow form expanded slightly.

The chains across the sky tightened.

"You broke a few restraints."

His voice remained calm.

"But this world…"

He gestured around them.

"…still belongs to me."

Devika smirked.

"We'll see."

She launched forward.

Her blazing body streaked across the battlefield like a meteor.

Varun followed immediately behind her.

The captain moved with disciplined precision, spear aimed straight at Arivaan's chest.

Two warriors.

One target.

Arivaan raised his hand lazily.

The shadow chains reacted instantly.

They shot downward like dark lightning.

Devika burned through the first chain.

Her white flames melted the shadow instantly.

Varun spun his spear.

Another chain shattered under the strike.

Arivaan nodded slowly.

"Coordinated attack."

Devika lunged closer.

Her fist exploded with fire as she aimed directly for his head.

Arivaan tilted his head slightly.

The punch passed through his shadowy form.

The flames scattered across the air behind him.

Devika's eyes widened.

"…What?"

Arivaan chuckled.

"This isn't my body."

Varun attacked next.

His spear thrust forward.

But Arivaan dissolved into darkness again.

The weapon passed through empty space.

The shadow figure reformed several steps away.

The floating panel flickered again.

Control Stability: 66%

Arivaan folded his arms.

"You're strong."

Devika growled.

"Stop running."

Arivaan shrugged.

"I'm not running."

He raised his hand again.

The sky cracked open.

Hundreds of shadow chains rained down toward them.

Varun reacted instantly.

His spear spun through the air, breaking several chains.

Devika unleashed a massive wave of fire.

The flames incinerated dozens more.

But the chains kept coming.

The mental battlefield trembled under the pressure.

Arivaan watched calmly.

"Your flames can destroy the chains."

He pointed toward the sky.

"But not fast enough."

The chains wrapped around Varun's arm.

The captain tore them apart with brute force.

But more replaced them instantly.

Devika's flames surged again.

She burned through another wave of shadows.

But the effort began draining her energy.

Varun glanced toward her.

"We need to reach him."

Devika nodded.

"I know."

Arivaan tilted his head.

"You're thinking strategically."

Varun stepped forward again.

His spear pointed directly at Arivaan.

"Your chains protect you."

Arivaan smiled faintly.

"Correct."

Varun lowered his stance.

"But you're still controlling them."

Arivaan nodded.

"Yes."

The captain's eyes sharpened.

"Then we cut the controller."

Before Arivaan could respond—

Devika exploded forward again.

Her flames surged like a solar flare.

But this time—

Varun didn't follow behind her.

He vanished sideways.

Arivaan blinked.

"Oh?"

Devika attacked directly.

Her flames forced Arivaan to create a massive wall of chains.

The shadow barrier blocked the explosion of fire.

But at the same moment—

Varun appeared behind him.

The captain's spear flashed forward.

Arivaan barely twisted aside.

The spear grazed his shadow form.

The floating panel flickered violently.

Control Stability: 61%

Arivaan frowned.

"Well."

"That was close."

Devika laughed.

"You're not untouchable."

Varun lifted his spear again.

The captain's voice remained calm.

"You're losing control."

Arivaan sighed.

"Not yet."

But the truth was obvious.

Two minds fighting inside the same mental battlefield had changed everything.

Devika's flames burned through the chains.

Varun's discipline kept pressure on the controller.

And the more they fought together—

The weaker Arivaan's grip became.

The floating panel flickered again.

Control Stability: 59%

Arivaan rubbed his temple.

"Alright."

Devika smirked.

"Feeling it?"

Arivaan looked up at them.

His shadow form darkened.

"…A little."

The sky above the mental battlefield twisted violently.

Because if two minds were fighting him—

Then he would simply reshape the battlefield itself.

And the real fight had only just begun.
