Chapter 6 - like a film

Bam!

The door slammed shut.

A heavy silence filled the living room.

Lucy dropped herself onto a chair, staring at the ceiling with unfocused eyes.

Yes, she didn't want to get married.

And she had a very strong reason for making that decision.

But at that moment… she wasn't ready to tell anyone.

She took out her phone.

It was full of missed calls from Oscar, along with many messages.

There were also several texts from Rachel, Oscar's younger sister, who was also her close friend.

Lucy ignored Oscar's calls.

But she knew she had to explain things to Rachel.

She called her.

Sitting upright on the sofa, she placed the phone to her ear.

The call was answered very quickly, but before Lucy could say anything…

a sharp, angry voice burst out from the other side.

Lucy frowned.

For that day, she had already heard enough harsh words from her mother.

She didn't need any more.

So she quickly said,

"Rachel, I'm sleepy. We'll talk tomorrow."

Without waiting for a reply, she hung up.

Then she switched off her phone completely.

Meanwhile, at a luxurious hotel…

Inside a large hotel room decorated with soft yellow lighting and long curtains covering glass windows, there was a heavy calm, broken only by the low hum of the air conditioner.

Beside the large bed sat a man who had just returned from entertaining guests by playing the piano that night.

A white towel was wrapped around his waist, covering part of his well-built body.

His broad shoulders and firm, muscular chest were clearly visible under the dim room light.

His black hair was slightly tousled, but it did nothing to diminish his attractiveness.

His long, strong fingers held an expensive lighter. With a calm motion, he lit the cigarette hanging at the corner of his lips.

A small flame flickered, illuminating his sharp brown eyes—eyes that had captivated many women he had looked at.

The image of that beautiful woman who had rushed out of the hotel, running away from her lover's proposal, kept replaying in Demir's mind like a film.
