At midnight,Simon was resting in his tent.4 Georgian soldiers were defending his tent,2 from the outside and 2 from the inside.Simon remembered,that his wife and children were in the Ksani fortress.He also knew,that his eldest son-Giorgi was well trained in swordsmanship,horseriding and archery.The king summoned one of the guards that was inside the tent.He indicated the guard to come closer with his right hand.The soldier humbly bowed his head in front of him,then looked at his king:
-I am all ears,your majesty!
-Are you familiar with the paths towards Ksani fortress?
-Yes,I remember all the ways towards it.Why are you asking me regarding that stronghold?
-My wife and sons are there.I am sure,that Giorgi must have trained hundreds of Georgians for the upcoming battles.Please,go there and meet my eldest son-Giorgi.We will need him and his trained soldiers.Now,hold on for a while.I will write the letter to him briefly.You will be my messenger.
Simon took the paper and feather.Afterwards,he put the feather into the inkpot and wrote:
My dear son,Giorgi!
I am camped with 5000 Iranians and 100 Georgians near Gori fortress.We are in the nearby forest.Tomorrow,at dawn,I will march towards Tbilisi fortress and siege it.I plan to slaughter the whole Ottoman garrison.If you have already gathered and trained soldiers,come here with them and assist me in tomorrow's combat.You know,that Ottomans always outnumber us and the presence of every soldier in our army will be crucial.If you a ready,just come here tomorrow at dawn.You don't have to send me the letter.Give my regards to my wife-Nestan Darejan and your younger brothers:Luarsab,Aleksandre and Vakhtang.

Simon passed his letter to the guard.The warden put it in his attire's pocket,bowed to the king,went out and got on the horse.Simon was observing him from the inside.When he disappeared,he lied down on his bed and soon fell asleep.
