Ali Quli khan led the Ottomans on the very way where Simon and his soldiers were observing their enemies' movements and preparing for the attack.Pretty soon,the Safavid commander came closer to Simon's army.He didn't halt in order to make Hasan pasha believe in his promise.Simon and Giorgi saw everything and ran towards the Ottomans with their swords.The whole army followed them.As soon as Simon's soldiers began to slaughter their enemies,Ottoman commander puzzled instantly.He desperately looked around and couldn't snap out of it for a while.
-Oh,Ali Quli!It's all this sly Persian's fault!
Hasan pasha got off from his horse and ran towards Ali Quli Khan.His eyes were burning with wrath.He grabbed Ali Quli on his throat and yelled at him:
-You cunning Persian!You mocked me and the entire Ottoman empire!How dare you?!I will demonstrate to everyone here what will the price be for defying the Ottoman commander!
As soon as he said these words,he took the sword out of his sheath and beheaded him.Ali Quli's head and lifeless body fell on the ground.
Simon and his entire army spotted what has just taken place.The king encouraged his soldiers:
-My lions!No matter what happens don't halt!Today,we have no option but to assassinate them all!They are the ones who are making the commoners suffer!
All of the soldiers killed as many janissaries as they could.Finally,scared Ottomans fled from the battlefield and the king ordered his army to not chase them.After all,Georgians and Persians managed to murder 1500 janissaries.Hasan pasha withdrew with only 500 janissaries towards Kars.Simon and his soldiers snatched Ottomans huge part of their provisions.
After 3 weeks,Hasan pasha and 500 janissaries arrived in Kars and then to Erzurum.Lala pasha was devastated by the bad news and he sent the urgent letter to the sultan-Murad III.The sultan was infuriated and was yelling in front of his viziers during the meeting of the imperial council:
-Ahhhhh!!!!!!Simooooon!!!What else can I do to get rid of this insolent man,huh?!!!Give me a piece of advice,my pashas!I need to devise the perfect plan!
-You must summon both Lala pasha and Hasan pasha to the capital.They are the ones responsible for this dire consequence.-The second vizier advised the sultan.
