Chapter 11 - Voidborn – Chapter 11: The Round of 32

The Trial of Dominion had reached its absolute apex. The Starfall Covenant's arena, now reduced to 128 fighters, had been refined by fire, pressure, and relentless skill into the finest warriors Earth had ever produced. The floating platform of celestial basalt floated against the backdrop of Earth's orbit, scarred by solar fire and energy residue from hundreds of battles. The air shimmered with the latent heat of exhausted energy, and the scent of ozone mixed with scorched stone, creating an atmosphere that left even the most seasoned Stellar Lords uneasy.

The next phase, the Round of 32_was more than a battle. It was a prelude to legend. The 32 surviving warriors had been hand-picked by performance, speed of victory, and raw potential. Among them, the Top 10 Earth Geniuses were untouchable by one another in this stage, ensuring they would not clash until the Celestial Clash. Still, every match was lethal, every strike decisive.

Michael Adarkwah-Yadom, the Solar Prodigy of Ghana, was at the center of the arena.

Despite his Stage 9 Beast Binder classification, his match drew widespread attention: he was facing Garrick of Germany, a Stage 3 Beast Master wielding a dual-headed frost axe. Garrick sneered, veins bulging across his frost-armored arms. "A Binder has no place in the Top 32," he spat, slamming his axe into the ground. Glacial spikes shot toward Michael like frozen daggers.

Michael did not flinch. He spun his Eclipse Rod, the vibrations creating a protective aura, and activated Solar Resonance Control. The ice shattered into vapor before touching him. Garrick leapt, bringing his axe down in a final overhead strike, but Michael met him mid-air with a roaring, golden fist.

"Double Solar Strike!" The arena erupted in blinding light. Garrick's chestplate melted, and he was blasted through reinforced pillars, leaving Michael standing, breathing heavily, golden eyes piercing through the smoke.

Elsewhere, Ivan Korovin displayed raw terror-inspiring power. His opponent, Lucia, a speed-type Stage 6 Beast Master, attempted a whirlwind of Wind Blades, but Ivan's Siberian Juggernaut Aura thickened like steel around him. Lucia's blades shattered upon contact. Ivan reached out, activating Event Horizon Grasp, tripling gravity in the ring. The floor quaked beneath them, and with a merciless Gravity Well Slam, Lucia's energy core collapsed. She hit the ground unconscious, leaving the arena in awe of Ivan's dominance.

Arata Kurogane moved like a phantom. Kwon of Korea swung a massive flail, but Arata vanished mid-step. His Void Step flickered through dimensions. "Eclipse Moon Cut," he whispered, and the flail was sheared into pieces as a faint black streak cut through the air, ending the fight in a heartbeat.

The remaining warriors each carved their own legends. Zahra Al-Nadir incinerated summoned golems with Sunfire Pillar, turning the arena floor to molten glass. Diego Silva called lightning storms down from the sky with Stormbreaker Punch. Marcus Hale used Titan Collapse, making his opponents immobile under crushing gravity. Arjun Varma, meditative and precise, countered every strike with Lotus Energy Blooms, while Kael Draven moved silently through shadows, dispatching enemies before they saw him.

As the dust settled, the Top 32 qualifiers for the Celestial Clash had been cemented:

The Top 10 Earth Geniuses were carefully placed across the bracket to avoid facing each other yet, ensuring maximum suspense for the Celestial Clash. Their positions would see them face the remaining mid-ranked warriors first, clearing a path for future confrontation.

Across the galaxy, the 29 other Starfall Covenant planets had completed their own Trials of Dominion. From Zenthar Prime, the psionic Xylos dominated the stage with his Void-Stalker beast. On Pyronis, Cinder-Lord Ignis cooled molten magma into stone tombs for his foes. On Nythera, Vara of the Silk-Web trapped opponents mid-air with invisible spectral threads. From Aurelion, Prince Valerius blinded cameras with his Solar Flare Nova, reducing his enemies to charred armor heaps. Across these worlds, warriors of stone, shadow, and light prepared to converge upon Eris, the Covenant Headquarters orbiting the Galactic Core.

Meanwhile, danger loomed over Earth itself. The mysterious teleportation gateway in the Himalayas pulsed a dark, obsidian energy, bleeding life force from the surrounding mountains. The distant fleet from the Large Magellanic Cloud closed in four light-years away, a wall of cold, silent steel with intentions that felt predatory rather than diplomatic.

The stage was set for a cataclysmic convergence: the Top 32 of Earth ready to clash, alien champions from 29 worlds hurtling toward Eris, and a cosmic threat growing ever closer to the fragile blue marble they called home.

And in the shadows of the arena, Michael clenched his fists around the Eclipse Rod, feeling the heat of the sun ignite within him.

He had survived impossible odds, bested the Masters of his planet, and now stood at the threshold of the Celestial Clash. The next fight was not just for glory—it was for survival, for legacy, and for the very future of humanity.
