Jay's POV
The walk to the clinic felt longer than usual.
Not because the hallway had magically grown, but because my head was pounding like someone had decided to host a drum concert inside my skull.
Keifer was still holding my arm.
Not tightly.
Just enough to make sure I didn't wobble again.
"I can walk," I muttered.
"You almost collapsed."
"Almost."
He sighed quietly.
"You're impossible."
I rolled my eyes.
"Congratulations, President. You figured it out."
We finally reached the clinic door.
Keifer pushed it open.
The room smelled like disinfectant and quiet seriousness.
A nurse looked up from her desk.
"What happened?"
Keifer answered before I could.
"She almost fainted."
"I didn't faint."
The nurse pointed to the bed.
"Sit."
I sat.
Mostly because my head was spinning again.
The nurse checked my forehead, then my pulse.
"You're pale," she said.
"Thanks."
"That wasn't a compliment."
She looked at Keifer.
"How long has she been like this?"
Keifer shrugged slightly.
"Since this morning, I think."
I glared at him.
"Traitor."
The nurse crossed her arms.
"Headache?"
"Yes."
"Since when?"
"Morning."
"Did you eat?"
"No."
"Drink water?"
"…Maybe."
She sighed.
"Classic."
Keifer leaned against the wall.
"So she's fine?"
The nurse gave him a look.
"No. She needs rest."
"I'm fine," I repeated.
"You're not."
"I am."
"You nearly fainted."
"I didn't faint."
"You're stubborn."
"Thank you."
She pointed at the bed again.
"Lie down."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
Keifer suddenly spoke.
"Just lie down and stop being so stubborn."
I turned to glare at him.
"Why are you taking her side?"
"Because you look like you're about to fall over again."
"I'm not."
The nurse grabbed a small bottle of medicine.
"Take this."
"What is it?"
"Pain reliever."
I took it reluctantly.
Then stood up.
"Alright. I'm going back to class."
The nurse blinked.
"You're doing what?"
"Going back."
"You're supposed to rest."
"I rested for five minutes."
"That's not rest."
I grabbed my bag.
"I'm fine."
Keifer stared at me.
"You're unbelievable."
"Thank you."
And before anyone could stop me…
I walked out.
