The next morning Alexander went directly to Sophia's office.
Emily didn't know.
Lucas followed behind him quietly.
"You sure about this?" Lucas asked.
Alexander didn't slow down.
"Yes."
Inside the luxury office building, Sophia sat calmly behind her desk when Alexander entered.
She didn't even look surprised.
"I was wondering when you would come."
Alexander's voice was cold.
"You hired someone to attack Emily."
Sophia leaned back in her chair.
"That's a serious accusation."
Lucas stepped forward.
"The driver confessed."
Sophia laughed softly.
"You really believe criminals?"
Alexander placed a document on her desk.
The driver's signed statement.
Sophia glanced at it briefly.
Her smile disappeared.
"So you actually investigated."
Alexander leaned forward slightly.
"If Emily gets hurt again…"
His voice dropped dangerously low.
"I will destroy everything you own."
For a moment the room went silent.
Sophia slowly stood up.
"You've changed."
Alexander didn't respond.
Sophia looked into his eyes.
"You never cared about anyone this much before."
Alexander answered calmly.
"I do now."
