The next morning at Knight Corporation began like any other.
Emily sat at her desk organizing Alexander's schedule.
Alexander stepped out of his office holding a tablet.
"There's a business gala tonight."
Emily looked up.
"Another one?"
Alexander nodded.
"Victoria Hayes will be there."
Emily sighed.
"That woman works fast."
Alexander placed the tablet on the desk.
"She requested our presence personally."
Emily raised an eyebrow.
"So it's basically a challenge."
Alexander smirked slightly.
"Exactly."
Emily leaned back in her chair.
"Well then…"
She stood up.
"Let's not disappoint her."
Alexander smiled faintly.
He liked seeing this confident side of Emily.
