Kaelith's expression darkened slightly.
"Or?" Darren continued sharply. "You plan to sleep with Consort Finn yourself so he can carry your child instead? Is that your plan to ascend the throne?"
His voice dripped heavily with sarcasm and disbelief.
"Or perhaps," he added with narrowed eyes, "you intend to put your own seed inside him while he's carrying the king's child too?"
"Don't ask unnecessary questions, Darren," Prince Kaelith replied coldly, his tone turning dangerously sharp.
"Just do as I instructed," he said calmly, though the threat beneath his voice was unmistakable. "If you value your life, you'll obey me."
"From today onward," Kaelith continued, "you will form a close relationship with Consort Finn. Gain his trust."
His piercing gaze settled heavily on Darren.
"And don't forget..."
A faint smirk slowly appeared on his lips.
"I'll be keeping my eyes on you as well."
