He was a magnificent being who bowed to no one. No one knew when his consciousness first came into existence, nor when his sense of self awakened.
He was the universe itself.
No—not merely the universe. The Omniverse itself was his existence.
What did he look like?
His form resembled an octopus, or perhaps a squid. Soft-bodied tentacles extended from him, constantly writhing and undulating. He possessed a face as well. Whether it was human or belonged to another species depended entirely on the witness; each observer saw a different face.
His body was also translucent. Within it stretched vast and infinite universes, as though the cosmos itself had taken physical form.
And his size?
That too varied according to the observer. Some claimed he was no larger than a human being. Others said he was the size of a mountain. Travelers of the cosmos described him as planet-sized. The gods themselves declared that he was larger than the Multiverse.
He also existed within the world of elementary particles, freely changing his size at will.
He never interfered with anyone. No matter what occurred, no matter who stood on the brink of destruction, even if the universe itself faced annihilation, he would never offer aid. Though he understood everything at all times, he deliberately chose not to see.
Even if the gods themselves pleaded with him, he obeyed no one.
He was the infinite existence known as "Eternal."
That was the name by which people called him.
