Chapter 26 - Entrance

Kai watched as Sunny dragged Anvil into a guest room. After a few moments, he returned.

"When that fool heals up we'll head out. It should only take a few hours for his body to heal." Sunny said as he unsummoned [Weaver's Mask].

Kai was still speechless.

"I never imagined Anvil would go down so easily." Kai said

The image of him being dragged in with so many bruises on his face was distressing and filled him with awe.

"That's just how it is, Kai. Once you get arrogant and believe you're the strongest, someone typically shows up and shatters your fragile worldview." Sunny said.

"At least that's what happened in the future as well. They seem stupid because they are." Sunny continued.

"What do you mean?" Kai asked.

"For one, they truly underestimated what Divine Aspect Wielder is capable of. They know that in each rank they stand above others by miles. So what did they think would happen if they achieved Supremacy?" Sunny said.

Sunny continued his explanation.

"What do they believe would happen when someone like Mordret would get a domain? What would happen if someone could grow a domain with easy requirements? Believe me Kai, while my domain is amazing in its own right, in the future dare I say I know more people with incredibly similar domains, in fact that they grow quickly and have simple requirements." Sunny said.

It was true. The Dreamspawn could steal anyone from a domain, Mordret could defeat people in a soul duel, and even Azarax could beat people into his domain. The requirements differed, but ultimately left unchecked, these people could grow a huge domain.

That wasn't even counting the other Divine Aspect Wielders from the other realm.

One of them carried the Divine Aspect of the Beast Goddess.

In their possession was a beast tide unlike any other. They had hundreds of thousands of creatures. That wasn't even the most impressive part either.

Kai asked a question.

"So you're telling me that these Soveriegns didn't know other people could increase their domains by different methods other than gathering more citadels?" Kai asked.

His line of thought was obvious. How could Sovereigns sit there and believe that simply having millions of people under their citadel would be enough to protect them from other threats? The most prominent threat being another Supreme emerging.

"No Kai, they simply believe, for some odd reason, that only they were the only amazing ones enough to become Supreme's. That's the only logical explanation. They have knowledge of other realms and history, they wouldn't be ignorant of the concept that people can grow domains in different ways. There are millions of ways to power." Sunny said.

Kai took it in with a frown. Even for somone that wasn't Supreme Kai could understand how stupid it was. It was like achieving Transcendence and then expecting everyone else was too stupid to achieve it.

"Well, I do have to admit their arrogance truly knows no bounds, but it reaches a point. They believed that Supremacy was enough to challenge the Dream Realm as well. If they were part of the first generation, their attitudes would be different." Sunny said.

Kai looked a bit confused and asked, "First generation? What does that have to do with anything?"

"Well, it's obvious isn't it? When the first generation entered the Dream Realm, there were no safe areas. As a matter of fact, for your average person, you could consider the entire Dream Realm as a Death Zone. Those people truly understand the Dream Realm for what it is." Sunny answered.

"I see. It tracks. The sovereigns have given up on the Waking World. Yet they truly don't understand the Dream Realm presents." Kai said.

Sitting on the couch, Sunny changed the subject and asked the question that was bothering him.

"So what happened when you returned?" Sunny questioned. It was his fault for Kai going missing, and he wondered what type of ripple effect it had.

Kai's face scrunched up as he recalled the memories of his return.

He explained in detail how basically the entirety of NSQC was searching for him. Even Nephis and Cassie had returned to NQSC for the following weeks. The severing of her mark and the zero traces left at his last known location triggered more than unease.

They searched and searched. Not finding a single clue.

"In the end, Nephis and Cassie were getting desperate in the following weeks. They were about to plead with Anvil to aid in their search for me before I returned." Kai said.

Sunny nodded.

"That doesn't sound too ba-" Kai interrupted Sunny saying.

"When I returned, it turned into another issue," Kai said.

"What do you mean?" Sunny asked.

"Well, they wondered what had happened, and I couldn't exactly tell them the truth, but I didn't want to lie either. So in the end, I told them that I was doing something important to me and it had to be done. I apologized for disappearing so suddenly and told them that it shouldn't happen again." Kai said.

"In the end, they accepted that explanation, but they were a bit defeated since they had been searching for me so long and I returned without an explanation." Kai said.

"I see. For what it's worth, we'll be able to come clean in the future, but the risk outweighs the reward for telling what's going on. I'm sure that they'd understand in the future." Sunny said to comfort his friend.

Kai had his own principles and wouldn't lie, but he couldn't tell the truth either. In the end, he chose something in between.

"So where are we going?" Kai asked.

Sunny let the question hang in the air before his flaw forced him to answer.

"We're going to the Underworld. The home of Nether, the Deamon of Choice."

Sitting there for a while, Kai took in the information and the implications of the answer.

The Deamons were all insidious, and their creations sometimes rivaled even the Gods. Having spent months in the Tomb of Ariel and Death Game, Kai was no stranger to the wondrous creations of Daemons.

"So Anvil has something to do with that?" Kai asked.

"Indeed, a long time ago, Anvil's cohort went to the Underworld to challenge the Fourth Nightmare." Sunny said.

Continuing, he said.

"When they came out of the Fourth Nightmare, they attacked Broken Sword, Nephis's father and killed him. We're going to be searching for his body since he had something extremely valuable." Sunny finished.

Having absorbed one more Lineage from the Death Game, Sunny felt his strength increase. Though he could tell Shadow Weave would definitely have the largest impact on his soul.

It was easy to forget, but sometimes he thought about the implications of his lineage. He had the Divine Aspect of the Shadow God, yet his lineage belonged to another God. Weaver was merely his offspring in a sense.

So his lineage technically belonged to the Forgotten God. As blasphemous as that sounded, Sunny wondered if he would ever reach his full potential with his Divine Aspect now that he walked a different path, but surely Shadow Weave would help him tremendously, at least more than the rest of the lineages in terms of his aspect.

"Rest up Kai. I don't exactly know where Anvil and his group entered from or where they killed Broken Sword, but I do know one thing."

"What is it?" Furrowing his brow Kai asked.

"When they hit the fatal blow on Broken Sword that would eventually kill him, they didn't chase after him. They let him wander deeper as if they couldn't follow. Cassie had once told me in the Future that was what Ki Song had said." Sunny said.

The implications were serious. What could cause three Supreme's risking Broken Sword potentially coming back? Although the killing blow was serious, watching him die is incredibly important in this day and age, especially Supreme's

"With only the Nightmare Spell confirming his death, did they finally relax" Sunny finished.

The Underworld was teeming with the most dangerous and ancient creatures in all of existence.

Continuing, Sunny told Kai everything he knew about the Underworld and Nether. As well as Nether's fascination with one of the Gods.

After a few hours, Sunny acutely sensed Anvil waking up.

"He's awake, get ready, we'll be setting off soon." Sunny said.

Kai nodded his head.

Summoning the Onyx Mantle's helm instead of [Weaver's Mask], Sunny led Anvil to them by commanding the shadows.
