One hour later, Lucian's team returned to the mansion. Lucian, Ashley, Primo, Nolan, Betty, Gustav, and a few guards filled the lobby.
The family of three—Ashley, Lucian, and Primo—sat together, with Lucian taking the head seat while the other two sat on the couch.
The rest stood, having been forced to act as "witnesses."
"Go on," Ashley nodded, urging Lucian to do what needed to be done. "Say it."
Gustav and all the bodyguards present balled their hands into tight fists, glaring at Ashley. They ground their teeth, silently hoping Lucian wouldn't say what she was forcing him to say.
As for Nolan, he maintained a smile, pleased to see the family of three like this.
I'm glad she caught up with them, he thought. Though I wonder… how she made Red and the others rush like that?
In his mind, Red or someone else must have taken the wheel to get her to Lucian in time.
If only Nolan knew why Red and those who rode with her were now in the infirmary.
