"Do you want to see them first?"
Silence settled between the two men as they held each other's gaze. After a moment, Tommy lowered his eyes to the phone and smiled faintly.
"You had a test done based solely on your intuition," he remarked.
"I didn't want the question to keep bothering me," Lucian answered. "I told her I would let her see the results as soon as I received them, but she's still asleep. I thought you might want to see them first."
Tommy nodded in understanding, tilting his head back as he released a heavy breath. But instead of answering Lucian's question, he looked at him again.
"I've had the same dream countless times," he began. "Liza never knew, but every time I closed my eyes, I imagined a home where my daughter was still alive. And waking up from those dreams felt like entering a nightmare because it reminded me of the life I could never have."
