They were done with dinner. They were busy watching a movie. Jay's phone buzzed. She stepped aside from the crowd and walked towards Julian who was in his room.
Julian was engrossed in a book.
his eyes narrowed, scanning the page with an intensity that made the words blur together. The soft glow of the reading lamp cast shadows on his face. he leaned in, as if drawing closer to the words would make them clearer, her breath barely stirring the pages. The world outside faded away, leaving only the book and him.
As the plot twisted, his grip on the book tightened, knuckles white.
He let out a sigh
" This book never seems to end"
Maria: do you have a moment?
"yeah"
She walked up to him and showed her phone.

She nodded and left.

From across the room, he noticed her furrowed brow. Her lips were pressed together, a thin line of tension. She stared out the window, but he knew she wasn't seeing anything – just lost in thought. Her shoulders were hunched, like she was trying to disappear into herself.
He watched, unnoticed, as she worried her lower lip between her teeth. A faint sigh escaped her, almost imperceptible, but he caught it. Her eyes, usually bright, looked dull, like clouds blocking the sun.
He could see Keifer trying to lighten her mood even though he had no idea what was going to happen.
Can I have everyone's attention pls. Julian asked in a calm voice sounding chill. Pretending. He was good at it. No one Noticed. Jay did.
She knew something was off with him.
I just wanted to announce that everyone can go back to their homes tonight. He said lightly

Julian: you all can go too..... call by midnight. Pick without fail. I will be staying at my 1st mansion. Kelly is with Carlos and Sandra. Kaito I already bought them a house you can visit them tomorrow. I'll send the address.
