Jay's pov:
It's been 2 days since the incident in hospital surgery scheduled.
I came back from school exhausted. I freshed up and lay on my bed staring.
But staring what?
Nothing....
The silence in my room felt louder than any noise.
I knew something was wrong.
Keifer hadn't come to school today.
When I stepped into class my eyes had automatically drifted to his seat first.
I frowned.
It was Empty.
Don't be dramatic, Jay.
He might be sick.
But.... keifer would have still came right???
he never skipped without telling me. The messages would have been non-stop.
I asked everyone in class all they said....
"important work"
Which.... didn't feel right!!
It felt wrong.
I hugged a pillow closer to my chest now, breathing slowly
I unlocked my phone and read his last message... which was yesterday....
He sounded normal. way too normal.
I stood up suddenly.
I changed my clothes automatically, my mind???
already at his house, already at his side, already with him.
I stepped out.
No one was there
I exhaled sharp.
Used my most favourite and expensive car.
I texted Julian and the others not to disturb for a while.
They didn't ask. Just... agreed.
I reached his house.
When I rang the doorbell, my fingers shook despite my attempt to stay calm and focused.
The maids greeted me.
I saw keigan. Eyes swollen. red.
He saw me and smiled faintly and looked away.
The maids led the way to his room and left.
I knocked gently.
"Keifer???"
No sound.
He sat on the edge of his bed, hands clenched tightly
Eyes pressed shut. too tight. Head slightly down
"What happened? Are you alright?" I moved forward to him.

swollen
Same as keigan.
I thought maybe it was related to Kaizer. But I wanted him to tell me.
"are you ok?"
He stood fast.
too fast.
pulled me into his arms, holding me like he was afraid I might disappear into thin air.
I hugged him back.
"what happened" I whispered
"Today is my mom's death anniversary." he whispered voice trembling
Shit!!!
should have known. I was too focused on my things!
The words felt heavy
His grip tightened.
Jay: don't be strong. don't pretend. let it out. Bcoz your human and... Mine. I'm here right beside. I'll stay as long as you want. ok?
I smiled faintly at him as I pulled away slightly just to look properly at him.
He rested his forehead against mine, exhaling trembly.
I held him there, in the quiet room, which was always warm seemed to be cold today.
I just held him.
Keifer: I woke up thinking I could get through like a normal day.
He sobbed quietly
"You don't have to be fine," I said my voice gentle and calm.
But my chest tightened
Keifer: crying makes me feel weak. I hate that I still cry. I hate that it still reminds me of that day when that monster killed her!
Jay: You're not weak, your a human and you cry bcoz you lost a person you love.
I said gently ruffling his hair.
Keifer: I'm scared
Jay: i know
He loosened his hug a bit.
He pulled away slowly.
His eyes... god!
they were tired.
Keifer: you came all the way here leaving all those boring paperworks...
Jay: you are important than that!
A faint, fragile smile tugged at his lips.
He reached for my hand, holding it tight
Keifer: can you stay
His voice was weak
"I'm not going anywhere," I promised.
Even though I might get scoldings from Kuya later
Jay: I'll sit with you as long as you need. your safe
He closed his eyes again, leaning fully into me, as I lay on the bed next to him.
He hugged my waist tight.
I texted everyone I won't be home tonight.

Author's pov:
I woke up to see Keifer still holding me tight.
I gave him a quick kiss.
I slid off from his tight grip and walked downstairs slowly.
Honestly I didn't sleep all night bcoz of DOH and F4
Annoying.
I saw keigan and keiran.
Keiran smiled. I smiled back
Keigan....nodded
Jay: did you guys have your breakfast?
They shook their heads.
Keigan: Maids are on leave.
Jay: I see.... Well... what do you want to have
Keiran: Pancakes
I chuckled. "sure"
I went towards the kitchen
I cooked some pancakes, scrambled eggs, toast.
I placed them neatly as the boys were digging to eat.
Keifer came down and looked around.
Blinked
ONCE
TWICE
Keifer: you made these? did you burn the kitchen
Jay: keifer!
I warned him.
He sat down beside me and pulled my chair closer to him. I raised one eyebrow at him
He shrugged.
I was in his house for few more hours and left.
But before leaving....
