The camera view switches to the personal camera of Captain Michelle Victor, commander of Company A, 2nd Battalion of the Paratroopers.
Inside the drop pod.
The hatch has several medium and small portholes, as well as multiple display screens for the user to monitor their physical condition and the real-time status inside and outside the pod.
There are two control sticks at the crotch area, allowing the user to perform micro-maneuvers while in the air to avoid ground obstacles.
In the upper corner of the right screen, a red standby light flashes, indicating that some Paratroopers are not yet ready.
The green light suddenly turns on.
Serana's voice comes through the comms: "All Paratroopers have boarded the drop pods. Coordinates set, depressurizing... Depressurization complete. Paratroopers, you are cleared for drop. Happy hunting."
Hearing this, Michelle raises her clenched right fist and slams it onto the red-painted button, ordering loudly over the comms: "Paratroopers! You heard the lady! Initiate drop!"
"Oorah!" the Paratroopers respond loudly over the comms.
"Click!" Michelle's drop pod shudders, then rapidly shoots downward along the rails.
Soon, the drop pod slides out of the fire spirit.
Through Michelle's perspective, one can clearly see the glowing Azure planet and hundreds of drop pods with blue flames shooting from their tops.
The drop pods rapidly pierce through the atmosphere; fire "ignites" outside the portholes, and the temperature inside the pods rises sharply. However, this is easily handled by the pods' automatic regulation systems.
Michelle no longer focuses on the "scenery" outside, but looks at the screen on her left. It shows 213 seconds until impact with the ground. Not even four minutes.
Seeing this, the Captain cannot help but sigh to herself: "Technology really does change the way we fight..."
If it were the old containment method, an Agent would surely have discovered the anomaly and tried to fight it to stall for time, waiting for the arrival of the UBCS or the Mobile Task Force. This is why the casualty rate for Agents is so high.
But now... Agents only need to confirm the anomaly and flick a finger to call for support, and in just a few minutes, they will have their Helljumpers.
Late at night. On the palace square at the summit of North Angle Mountain, a large number of cultists have gathered.
They have removed their outer black cloaks and are gathered around the bonfire without any concealment, either performing unknown dances or engaging in self-harm and self-mutilation.
It is even more unbearable than the scene the Agent witnessed during the day. More importantly, besides their bizarre behavior, many changes have occurred to their bodies. For instance, localized skin ulceration, or tentacles and holes growing from their backs that would trigger trypophobia.
Besides the cultists lost in their revelry, there are also a large number of armed personnel holding firearms to maintain order in the area.
And the Agent who infiltrated the cult has no choice but to remove his clothing and join the crazed cultists in their crazed revelry.
At this moment, the "stars" in the night sky are getting closer and closer to the ground.
"Ah! Our Master has shown his divine power again, thank you, my Lord!" A cultist, upon seeing those "stars", actually stops his mutilation, kneels on the ground, and begins to kowtow to the sky.
"My Lord!" The other cultists also quickly kneel on the ground, praising their "God".
But the undercover Agent knows the true nature of these "stars". He also kneels on the ground, but his posture looks like he is covering his head to protect himself.
In an instant, those "stars" split into two groups. The large group flies toward the town five kilometers away from North Angle Mountain, while the remaining small batch heads straight for the summit.
Seeing this, the cultists finally realize something is wrong. How can "stars" all change direction at once? But by the time they react, it is already too late.
The "stars", or rather the drop pods, rush toward the square at an extremely high speed, instantly activating their retro-thrusters when only a hundred meters away.
Although their speed has dropped significantly, the drop pods still strike the center of the crowd in the square like cannonballs. "Boom! Boom!"
Instantly, flesh and blood splatter across the square, and dust rises everywhere. The cultists do not even have time to scream before they are completely stunned by the hundreds of drop pods; even with their mutations, they cannot escape the fate of being crushed to death.
Some cultists are dead, some are injured, but the undercover Agent is unscathed. Because he has a tracking chip in his body, the Helljumpers in the sky and Serana can see him clearly, ensuring there is absolutely no friendly fire.
With a "thud," the hatch of the drop pod to the Agent's left pops open. Michelle, commander of Company A, 2nd Battalion, jumps out, immediately grips her pulse rifle, drops into a half-crouch, and pulls the trigger on a cultist next to the Agent.
"Rat-tat-tat!" "Splat!" Accompanied by the crisp, distinctive sound of the M41A pulse rifle, the cultist with several tentacles on his back is directly hit by the pulse rounds and explodes, dying instantly.
As for the Agent, he doesn't care about the bloodstains and severed limbs on the ground. He quickly grabs his coat, puts it on, jogs over to Michelle's side, and loudly complains: "Buddy, you guys are just in time! I've been watching those morons for a whole day!"
"Haha!" Michelle laughs, aims her muzzle at another cultist who is standing up, sprays him with fire, and says: "Brother, let us Helljumpers finish cleaning up the trash before we chat!"
"Right!" The Agent knows that without his equipment, he can't help, so he gives Michelle a thumbs up and then hops into Michelle's drop pod to stand by.
Now all the Paratroopers on the square have jumped out of their respective drop pods and are assembling by squad.
Relying on the scanning systems of their individual equipment, as well as the pulse rifles and machine guns in their hands, the Paratroopers sweep through the mutated cultists.
At this moment, the armed personnel belonging to the cult finally recover and start grabbing their firearms to fight back.
"Bang bang!" "Clang, clang!" Unfortunately, the bullets only make a clanging sound on the Paratroopers' armor and chip off some paint.
Unless they are equipped with large-caliber armor-piercing rounds, it is impossible to penetrate the Paratroopers' armor. Obviously, the cult's armed militants are not equipped with armor-piercing rounds at all.
Michelle leads her Paratroopers at the forefront, using pulse rifles for long-range precision fire and using their mechanical skeletons for melee combat and ramming at close range. Their combat style is extremely brutal.
Of course, it's not just Michelle's Company A; Company B and Company C, who landed on the square together, are the same. "Lunatics" is the best description for the Helljumpers.
After all, the Paratroopers' slogan is: "We land on our feet!"
Therefore, the thousands of cultists on the square are "cleaned up" by the Paratroopers in almost two minutes; it is a completely one-sided situation.
For the Agents, the Helljumpers are support from the sky, but for those anomalies, it is the descent of the God of Death.
