On the Ship: Sea God, Roy stood on deck, breathing in the fresh ocean air, his heart still thumping with a bit of excitement.
Finally… they were on the way to the Hunter Exam.
Android 18 leaned in at that moment and said, "I already checked everything. This trip on the Ship: Sea God will only stop at three ports to pick up registered examinees. One is Peanutton, one is Old Silver Mountain City where we boarded, and the last is Whale Island."
Android 18 was unusually invested in this Hunter Exam—she was determined to get that Hunter License no matter what.
Roy looked around and saw there were already quite a few people moving about on the ship. That meant the ship had already visited Peanutton, and it had just left the Old Silver Mountain port.
So the next stop—also the final stop—would be Whale Island.
"Whale Island, huh? The spiky-haired kid, the red-eyed one, and…"
Roy glanced at Android 18.
"And there's also that 'teenage old man' who's just as money-obsessed as my own wife."
"These people are seriously weak," Android 18 said after casually scanning the deck. "With this level, they still think they can take the Hunter Exam?"
Roy yawned. Honestly, she wasn't wrong. These people were so fragile that a bit of bad weather would leave them dizzy and useless. In the end, the only ones on this ship who'd actually be able to properly take the exam would be the three-person group from Whale Island.
Of course, now that Roy and Android 18 were involved, nothing was guaranteed to follow the original path.
Roy and Android 18 had no interest in the other passengers, but the passengers were very interested in them.
Or rather—very interested in Android 18.
"Hey, beautiful lady. You here for the Hunter Exam too?"
A bald brute with his shirt off swaggered over, wearing a greasy grin as he tried to flirt with Android 18.
A lot of people nearby turned their heads, pointing and whispering, letting out meaningless snickers.
"Come with me. I'm one of the top boxers in Peanutton. I'll definitely get you through the Hunter Exam—so long as you spend the trip with me and—"
"Bang!"
The bald brute flew backward and slammed into the railing. Teeth scattered from his mouth one after another—he'd clearly been hit so hard they'd been knocked clean out. He collapsed in a spreading pool of blood, miserable beyond words.
"Huh. My bad," Roy said as he drew back his fist. His mouth said sorry, but his face looked completely indifferent. "You said you were one of the top boxers, so I thought I'd spar with you a little. Who knew you were this flimsy? One punch and you're done."
Then Roy swept his gaze across the deck.
"Gulp…"
Seeing how badly the brute had been wrecked, the others swallowed hard. The moment Roy looked their way, they hurriedly stared off into the distance like they'd suddenly become very interested in the ocean.
"Problem solved."
Roy flashed Android 18 a V-sign. Android 18 smiled, her eyes looking even gentler than before.
"Hey, kid," the first mate said as he walked over, clearly entertained. "If you break something, you pay for it. Especially the railing."
It was obvious Roy's strength had genuinely startled him.
"Sorry, but I didn't bring money," Roy replied flatly. "And the railing was broken by that bald guy when he crashed into it. Go ask him to pay."
Then Roy seemed to remember something. A strange light flickered in his eyes.
"Hey, Mr. First Mate."
"Hm?" The first mate turned back, puzzled.
"On this ship… are there any rules we have to follow?"
"Rules?"
The first mate froze for a moment, then his expression turned weird.
"The moment you register for the Hunter Exam, it's basically signing a life-and-death waiver. Even if you die during the exam, it's got nothing to do with the Hunter Association."
Hearing that, Roy's smile widened.
Because he knew: the voyage itself was also part of the Hunter Exam—just an early selection to filter out who even qualified to take the formal phases. The captain of the Ship: Sea God was the examiner responsible for this selection.
And since the voyage counted as part of the exam, it fell under that "life-and-death waiver," too. The first mate had sailed for over a decade—of course he understood what that meant, which was why his expression looked so odd. He'd already started to suspect that this young man—clearly not weak—had realized the Hunter Exam had already begun.
After getting the answer he wanted, Roy slowly drew the sword strapped to his back, smiling warmly at the rest of the examinees on deck.
"Everybody—hand over anything valuable. This is a robbery!"
Just now, when that bald guy tried to pull something, plenty of people on the ship had been throwing out filthy, disgusting remarks.
…
That sword was one of Roy's once-every-seven-days Nen rewards: the sword belonging to Future Trunks from Dragon Ball.
Its hardness and sharpness were enough to slice through even Frieza's rebuilt body—crafted from the finest metals in the universe—in a single strike.
In the Hunter world, it was a one-of-a-kind treasure among blades.
Naturally, the passengers didn't want to sit there and be robbed.
Unfortunately for them, the gap in strength wasn't just big—it was hopeless.
So in the end, across the entire ship—aside from Android 18, Roy, and the sailors and other crew—there wasn't a single passenger left conscious.
Roy had dropped every last one of them.
"Finally," he said, satisfied. "Some peace and quiet."
