Chapter 79 - Chapter 79: The Dark “Separation”!

Inside Roy's room.

Holding the egg pearl, Roy had spent these seven days reflecting on everything he had done since transmigrating into this world.

Starting from when he first drew Dragon Ball and was showered with praise by the magazine company, he had gradually begun to get carried away without even realizing it.

Then Android 18 appeared and taught him how to use Ki, along with all kinds of Ki techniques and special moves. His strength began to soar by leaps and bounds.

Power, beauty—he had obtained them both.

Then Dragon Ball became a huge hit, and the things manifested through his Nen ability kept getting better and better. Fame, money, strength—he had everything he could want.

He had become swollen with arrogance.

After all, in his original world, he had only been an ordinary manga assistant who had yet to make a name for himself. Even though he had always loved manga, he had never experienced the intoxicating extravagance of success.

So the love he once held for manga gradually began to fade. Even when he came out to take the Hunter Exam, because his strength had risen so dramatically, and because he knew the entire plot, he had developed a subtle sense of superiority deep down.

It was precisely because of that sense of superiority that he had lost to Gon and the others in terms of spirit and character.

Even if you're the protagonists, I'm still the one who taught you Nen.

Later, during the Hunter Exam, it was obvious that he hardly took the other examinees seriously. Even toward Examiners like Satotz and Lippo, he had unconsciously maintained a dismissive attitude.

After his battle with Isaac Netero, he had restrained his mentality somewhat, but the problem clearly still remained.

The clearest example was that after finishing the Hunter Exam, instead of immediately contacting old Luke and letting him know how he was doing, he had gone straight to Kukuroo Mountain.

That was undoubtedly excessive and willful.

Afterward, Roy took the egg pearl and carefully summed up the problems that had appeared within himself. Mahā had been right. This really was the dark side formed from all his "excess," "willfulness," and other bad habits piled together.

Was it because his strength had grown too quickly, and his success had come too suddenly, causing him to gradually lose himself?

Roy took a deep breath. He had recognized his own problems, and he regretted them. He intended to correct them.

Recognizing a problem was not difficult. Correcting it was.

When Roy tried to eliminate these problems, he suddenly discovered that it seemed to be a little too late.

The darkness inside him, empowered by both Nen and Ki, had already begun to gradually take shape. Destroying it immediately was basically impossible.

He either had to take action at once and expel that darkness from his body, or seal it away and slowly erase it bit by bit in the future.

Roy was worried that driving the darkness out of his body might lead to some unforeseen consequence, so when he decided to seal it instead—

He forgot that today was an important day.

It had been exactly seven days since the last issue of Dragon Ball had gone on sale.

In other words, today was also the day for a new Nen manifestation to appear.

Just as Roy was about to seal away the darkness of his "bad habits," a milky-white light suddenly appeared.

Then, before Roy could react, it entered his body.

The darkness in his heart seized the chance to merge with that light, and in the next instant, it burst out of his body.

This is bad.

Looking at the dark sphere of light that had emerged from his body and now floated quietly in front of him, Roy's face turned ashen.

He did not attack, because he knew that if he did, he might die as well.

Because he already knew what this Nen manifestation was.

More precisely, it was a skill—one of the unique abilities of the Namekians: Separation.

The Namekians possessed several unique abilities. One of them was Assimilation, and another was Separation.

And Separation just happened to be the exact opposite of Assimilation.

Separation was a method used by Namekians who carried confusion, darkness, or other negative states of mind within themselves to remove those negative emotions.

Generally, they would separate those negative emotions from their bodies, and then the Great Elder would purify them.

When Kami came to Earth, he had already lost his memory and had even forgotten that he was a Namekian.

Later, in order to qualify for the position of Kami, he strove to overcome the darkness in his heart and subconsciously used Separation, expelling the darkness within himself.

But obviously, because there was no Great Elder there to purify it, that darkness gave birth to King Piccolo, who brought calamity to the world.

So the question was: did Roy currently have a Great Elder to purify this darkness for him?

Obviously not.

And Kami and King Piccolo shared the same life. If one died, the other would not survive either.

So Roy could not kill it outright right now. If things went wrong, even his own life would be in danger.

Actually, given how wildly popular Dragon Ball had become, it made perfect sense for his Nen ability to manifest Separation at this point.

There really was darkness in his heart, and Separation had appeared at exactly the right time to solve that problem for him, even if Roy did not particularly like the method.

Of course, this darkness did not refer to Roy's true other side.

It was merely the aggregate of all those "bad habits" and "negative emotions."

After all, a person's yin and yang had to remain in balance. If all darkness vanished and only so-called "light" remained, that person could not continue to exist.

So even though that "darkness" had been stripped away from Roy, it did not affect his thoughts or personality in the slightest.

Moreover, by helping Roy expel the darkness of his "bad habits," Separation had cleared the path of his future martial arts journey, leaving it smooth and unobstructed.

On the other hand, after being separated, they could actually fuse together again.

In Dragon Ball, after Piccolo fused with Kami again, Piccolo—who had already become stronger than Frieza's first form after assimilating Nail—saw his strength explode at a geometric rate.

Even before he had fully mastered that power, he was already able to fight Cell's normal form to a standstill.

And during his battle with Cell, whether it was intelligence, reaction speed, performance in battle, or adaptability, Piccolo after fusing with Kami had undergone a qualitative leap.

Later, he even fought Android 17 evenly. And at that time, Android 17 and Android 18 both possessed enough strength to casually defeat Vegeta, who had only just become a Super Saiyan.

That truly was a Super Namekian.

It could be said that after Separation, fusing again would produce an effect that was absolutely no less than the "results of waiting for the fruit to ripen."

Of course, after Separation, fusing again also depended on which side held the dominant position.
