After hearing Roy's explanation, the looks in Killua and the others' eyes turned to understanding. It was obvious that they had relaxed a lot, while Milluki's gaze toward Roy was once again filled with worship.
"As expected of the big bro I admire. Even though you haven't played much, you could still analyze so much so quickly. You're practically a born gamer."
The way Milluki looked at Roy made it seem as though he had finally found a kindred spirit. He was even thinking that after they finished Greed Island, he would properly introduce his newly acknowledged big bro to even more interesting games.
It was just that he probably still had not realized that the big bro he worshipped had brought him to Greed Island not to play games at all.
When the curly-haired man heard Roy's words, he also looked at him in surprise. Then he grew slightly more serious and said, "Looks like you're a pro gamer too. But Greed Island is completely different from any other game!"
As he spoke, the curly-haired man tapped on his binder for a while, then raised his head and said, "Roy, Killua, Gon, and Milluki, huh? Aside from one F-rank card, all your pockets are empty. Sure enough, you're total beginners."
"How does this guy know our names?"
"Was it a function card like Flight? A card that lets you know other players' names?" Milluki, the most experienced gamer among them, was the first to react.
"Heh, so what if I do?" the curly-haired man scoffed disdainfully. Then he pulled out a card and shouted, "Use 'Trace' on Kil—"
"Hey, hey. Aren't you being a little too presumptuous?"
A calm voice sounded beside the curly-haired man's ear, instantly making his body stiffen. Then, in horror, he discovered that the card in his hand had suddenly vanished. He had not even had time to finish saying the incantation.
And not only that, he could not make a sound anymore, because a hand was now gripping his throat directly.
"Hrk... gh—"
The curly-haired man's eyes shifted over and met Roy's calm gaze head-on. Roy was looking at him the same way one might look at a bug on the ground.
The curly-haired man was terrified. Panic surged endlessly inside him.
"Aren't these guys supposed to be rookies? Why do they feel this terrifying?!"
A rookie only meant a beginner to the game. It had nothing to do with one's own strength.
Being good at games did not make your actual combat power strong. But after playing this game for so long, the curly-haired man had practically rotted his brain away.
Or perhaps he thought that with his familiarity with the game, he could rely on that advantage to escape safely?
Maybe that would have worked against ordinary rookie players.
But unfortunately for him, he had run into Roy.
The curly-haired man desperately tugged at the hand gripping his throat with both hands, but Roy's arm was like steel. No matter how hard he struggled, it did not budge in the slightest.
What worried him even more was that Roy had grabbed his throat before he could close his binder.
That meant his binder was completely exposed right now, and with his throat locked like this, he could not say, "Return the book!"
"So this is your binder? Judging from your tone, you count as an old player, right? But the number of cards you've collected isn't all that impressive either."
Roy glanced at the curly-haired man's binder, then spoke with open contempt.
Hearing Roy say that, the curly-haired man nearly choked on a mouthful of blood. But at the same time, seeing Roy inspect his binder so brazenly made him struggle even more frantically.
Had he finally gone from preying on others to becoming the prey himself?
At that moment, Gon, Killua, and the others also came to their senses and walked over to Roy's side.
"So you can do it like this. If you restrain someone before they put away their binder and stop them from speaking, then you can plunder their cards!"
Killua walked over with his hands in his pockets and nodded, showing that he had learned something new.
"Well then, just now you looked like you were planning to use a card on me, right? In that case, I won't be polite either. I'll gladly take the cards in your hand."
As he spoke, Killua summoned his own binder.
After hearing Killua's words, the curly-haired man started trembling even harder.
Those were years of his hard work.
Gone. All gone. In a single moment, he was back to square one.
Roy did not stop Killua either. One look at this curly-haired man told him that he was the type who lurked around the beginner area, specifically picking out newcomers and rookies to rob of their cards.
Roy naturally had no objection to teaching trash like that, the kind that bullied newcomers inside the game, a proper lesson.
Although Gon felt that doing this went against the original spirit of the game, he did not voice any objection.
Gon might be innocent and kind, but he was not stupid, nor was he some blindly sanctimonious fool.
As for Milluki... well, he followed Roy's lead in everything.
While Killua transferred several of the curly-haired man's cards, he casually said, "Gon, your dad should've left you quite a few cards, right?"
"Not even one."
Killua: "???"
Seeing the wide-eyed look on Killua's face, Roy could not help but smile and shake his head.
A guy like Ging was never going to leave Gon anything.
This was basically making Gon play a "Greed Island adventure starting completely from zero."
After Killua transferred all of the curly-haired man's cards into his own binder, Roy released the man's throat at once.
Then, moving even faster, with a few sharp motions, he dislocated all four of the man's limbs. The curly-haired man collapsed to the ground, his arms and legs limp and useless.
"You don't have a single card left in your binder now, and I've dislocated all four of your limbs. If you don't want to die, then when we ask you something, you'd better answer honestly. Understood?"
Roy spoke calmly.
The curly-haired man looked at Roy in horror, swallowed hard, then nodded frantically.
These rookies were terrifying. He just wanted to go home.
Before the curly-haired man could speak, Milluki skillfully rummaged through the small bag on his back and pulled out a little notebook with the words "Game Data" written on it.
Before entering the game, he had listened to Roy's instructions and made quite a few proper preparations. He had even specially gotten himself a small bag for it.
He had gathered quite a lot of information on Greed Island.
And now that they had a live source of game intel right in front of them, Second Brother was going to write every last bit of it into his little notebook.
