For an assassin family like the Zoldyck family, it was actually very easy to deal with the relationship between Milluki and Roy.
At present, among the Zoldyck family's direct bloodline members, excluding Alluka, who was treated as something dark and abnormal, there were four in total: Illumi, Milluki, Killua Zoldyck, and Kalluto Zoldyck.
There were four direct heirs, but everyone knew that each family could only have one head.
So if only one of those four direct heirs could become the family head, then what about the other three?
From Mahā to Zeno Zoldyck, and then to Silva Zoldyck, it seemed as though each generation had produced only a single child, with no brothers or sisters at all.
On the surface, it looked like the Zoldyck family only started flourishing in numbers with Illumi's generation.
But was that really the truth?
Would a long-established assassin clan really fail to consider the number of heirs and how they were trained?
What if one generation had only a single successor, and that successor turned out to be as hopeless as Second Brother had been before his training, or a monster like Alluka? Wouldn't that mean the family line could be cut off entirely?
Because of that, Roy was willing to say with certainty that Mahā, Zeno Zoldyck, and Silva Zoldyck had all absolutely once had quite a few biological brothers or sisters of their own.
But if that was the case, why did the current Zoldyck family consist of only them? And where had all those siblings gone?
Roy felt that, aside from those Zoldyck family members who had died in accidents or after failing missions, the rest of the direct heirs had probably all left the Zoldyck family after the family head was decided.
After all, the family head was the ruler of the household, and within one family, there could only be a single absolute authority.
As for the direct heirs who failed to become the family head, they had probably left the Zoldyck family and entered different industries across the Six Continents.
Some were likely in business, some in politics, and some may even have joined the Hunter Association and become part of its backbone.
That way, Zoldyck family members would be spread across all kinds of fields, maintaining the family's presence throughout the world.
With the skills and strength they inherited from the Zoldyck family, it would be very easy for those members who left to rise to important positions in any profession.
The Zoldyck family was a famous assassin clan known to everyone. The fact that it could still stand openly in the world was proof enough that those members outside the main household had contributed quite a lot.
Besides, the Zoldyck family wasn't the least bit afraid of being recognized.
Setting aside the fact that photos of Zoldyck family members were still being offered for reward online, ordinary people generally couldn't recognize them anyway.
And even if someone did know their identities, they wouldn't dare say it lightly.
The Zoldyck family had been passed down for far too many years. Although assassination was their main business, they also held weight in all sorts of different fields. Anyone wanting to make a move against them had better think very carefully first.
So, given the current development of the Zoldyck family's direct line—
There was no need to say anything about Illumi's excellence, and Killua Zoldyck was also the most talented member in the Zoldyck family's history. When the time came, the person who would sit in the position of family head would most likely come down to one of those two.
That meant Second Brother Milluki and Fifth Brother Kalluto Zoldyck were destined to leave the Zoldyck family.
And based on the Zoldyck family's particular situation, Roy had more than enough ways to make Second Brother willingly devote himself to the death.
…
While Second Brother was working the land with fiery enthusiasm over there, Roy wasn't going to stay put the whole time. He still had some things to take care of.
So after splitting off a clone with the Four Bodies Technique, Roy used Instant Transmission to leave the place once again.
To be honest, he really did have a lot of things to do right now.
In order to develop and expand the profession of Hunter, and to make people recognize the outstanding contributions Hunters had made to the world, the Hunter Association had specially created a star-ranking system.
That system divided Hunters into four levels.
They were: Licensed Hunters, One-Star Hunters, Double-Star Hunters, and Triple-Star Hunters.
Licensed Hunters were the official Hunters who had passed the Hunter Exam and obtained a Hunter License. At present, there were 661 Hunters. Of course, there were also some people who weren't truly Hunters, but still competed with Hunters for work: the unlicensed hunters.
A One-Star Hunter was a Hunter who had achieved success and left behind great accomplishments in a particular field.
A Double-Star Hunter, meanwhile, was someone who had achieved major success or made great contributions in multiple fields, while also having trained a One-Star Hunter who contributed to the Association.
As for Triple-Star Hunters, there were fewer than ten of them in the entire world. In other words, it was the title of the highest-class Hunters, something extremely rare.
The absolute condition for obtaining the title of Triple-Star Hunter was that, on top of meeting the standard for a Double-Star Hunter, one also had to complete several historic discoveries or create world-class achievements.
Every year, the Hunter Association held an exam, and those who passed received a Hunter License. After that, they could use their license however they wished. They enjoyed all kinds of rights, but they also had to choose what kind of Hunter they wanted to be and fulfill the responsibilities that came with it.
For example: Gourmet Hunters who traveled across the world in search of delicious ingredients; Contract Hunters hired by clients; Treasure Hunters who sought gold and priceless riches; Beast Hunters who went out to discover magical beasts unknown to the world; and Bounty Hunters who hunted down wanted criminals or Hunters who violated the rules.
The types of Hunters weren't fixed forever, either. For example, in the beginning, the Hunter Association only had Bounty Hunters. Later, as the times changed, professions like Contract Hunter and Gourmet Hunter were gradually added.
And this time, when Roy headed to the Hunter Association, he intended to have them add a new profession as well: Manga Hunter, or rather, Story Hunter!!
The Hunter Association even had Music Hunters. There was no reason they couldn't establish Manga Hunter as a profession too.
If they actually dared to reject that Hunter profession, then Roy might just have to go have a proper talk with Netero.
And once that profession was established, then with the influence Dragon Ball had created, Roy could absolutely obtain a One-Star Hunter rating.
…
Roy first went to find Android 18. The two of them had been apart for two weeks, so they thoroughly made up for lost time every single day.
During that time, Roy told her about the star-ranking system.
Android 18 had clearly started to lose interest in shopping with Machi and the others, so when she heard Roy say that, her interest was immediately stirred a little.
"Star-ranked Hunters, huh? They definitely get better benefits and treatment than ordinary Licensed Hunters! All right, decided. It's just a One-Star Hunter, right? Then I'm taking it."
