After a satisfying meal, Rhode and the group headed back to the outskirts of Kuoh Town. As Lavinia was setting up the barrier, Kuroka continued to cling to Koneko. "Shirone, why don't you just forget about that master of yours, meow? Learning Senjutsu isn't that easy, meow, especially for Nekomata like us. One wrong move and you'll get lost in the power, meow!"
"Sister, I've told you already. Rias saved me, so I want to save her. If you say that again, I won't call you sister ever again!" Shirone's expression was dead serious.
This warning immediately made Kuroka surrender. She put on a pitiful face. "I was just joking, meow. But Senjutsu training really is hard; beginners can easily lose control, meow! Hey, why don't I just transform into your likeness and take your place in that Rating Game, meow?"
"Sister! I'm not a child anymore!"
"Fine, meow~" Unable to sway her, Kuroka flattened her ears and continued, "Then I'll be responsible for guiding out the Nekomata power within you. It might be a bit uncomfortable, so you have to endure it well, Shirone, meow!"
"I survived the years after you abandoned me; what is a little pain compared to that?" Koneko said expressionlessly.
Sensing her sister's resolve, Kuroka's face also turned serious. "Sit down. I'll use Senjutsu to activate your Nekomata bloodline, then I'll teach you the flow of Qi. Once you can feel it, you can officially begin your Senjutsu training."
The serious Kuroka had a dignified air about her, making Koneko feel a trace of elder authority. Sister is actually quite cool when she's serious, she thought.
While things were a bit complicated on that side, Akeno's situation was much simpler. Her bloodline power had always been active; she had just been suppressing it. Even so, her lightning was still a derivative ability of Baraqiel's bloodline.

How can a Devil use the Power of Light?"
"Rest assured, I will bear any consequences myself," Akeno said stoically.
"That's easy for you to say. Your father is Baraqiel. If he finds out I've taught his daughter 'bad things,' he'll definitely come for us!"
"Exactly!"
"But by then, Master should be able to protect us, right?" Kalawarner and Mittelt chimed in.
At the mention of her father, Akeno's expression instantly soured. "Don't mention that name in front of me again. He is not my father!"
"Fine." Raynare didn't push it. She silently criticized the girl for not realizing how lucky she was. At least she had parents; Raynare had none. If Akeno got into trouble, she had a massive backer, but what did Raynare have? As a low-born Fallen Angel, she had to fight for everything she wanted. If she died, it wouldn't even make a ripple in Grigori.
At this thought, Raynare suddenly looked at Rhode. A complex feeling welled up in her heart. Although he had forcibly bound them with violence and curses, life during this period was much happier than it had been in Grigori. Would he count as my future backer?

"Quiet your mind and focus on the power you want to use. Since you have Fallen Angel blood, it should be Holy Light. Try to imagine how you would use it."
Meanwhile, Kuroka used Senjutsu to activate Koneko's bloodline power. The girl was enveloped in a faint purple light. At first, it was nothing, but Koneko soon felt a very peculiar itching sensation. It spread to the top of her head and her tailbone, and she let out a moan that could easily lead to misconceptions.
"Sister, mm... it... it feels strange." Koneko curled up on the grass, her legs in her school uniform bent and pressed together, the skin of her inner thighs rubbing against each other. "It feels like something is coming out..."
"It's okay, meow! It's normal to feel this way, meow!" Kuroka was sweating profusely. This was her first time guiding someone's bloodline power, and since it was her own sister, she had to be extra careful.
Rhode stood by and watched the entire process of a cat-girl being born. "Impressive. After turning into a cat-girl, her whole aura changes."
Cute. Wanted to pet.
At his words, the now-normal Koneko turned slightly red.
"Next is Qi. Qi is the foundation of all things; as long as something is alive, Qi exists. The energy that drives Senjutsu is Qi. By the way, have you read Journey to the West, meow? Its nature is similar to mana, meow~"
"Then how do I feel Qi?"
"Uh, that... basically, just quiet down, close your eyes, and keep thinking about the power of Qi in your mind!"
"Sigh, if Grandma Mikage were here, she'd probably be a better teacher than me, meow." Kuroka wasn't a great teacher, but fortunately, Koneko was a Nekomata—one of the most talented among the Youkai.
Rhode listened to Kuroka's half-hearted teaching and tried it himself. He was just doing it for fun, but a progress bar soon appeared before his eyes.
