This was the pressure only a high-tier Fallen Angel could exert; it was like heavy dark clouds pressing down on the heart, making every breath feel like struggling through mud.
"Akeno, don't get distracted! Finish off the Cerberus first!" Rias's anxious shout rang in her ears. "What are you doing standing there?!"
Boom!
A magic shield appeared in front of Rias, blocking a fireball spat from the Cerberus's mouth. Searing energy splashed everywhere, and stray sparks instantly ignited the nearby bushes, starting a rapid fire.
"Vile dog! You shall pay for defiling my territory with your life!" Rias didn't care if the beast understood her; she was currently in an incredibly foul mood.
She had been swamped with problems lately, and after Akeno had relayed Rhode's cold assessment of her, she had been so angry her period had become abnormally heavy that night. Today, she had intended to go with Akeno and Koneko to "confront" Rhode and argue with him, but before they could leave, she received an emergency notice from Sona.

"President, finish it!" Akeno shouted.
Snapping back to attention, Rias's Power of Destruction followed up. The crimson energy struck the beast, gouging out large chunks of flesh and causing black blood to erupt from the wound.Even though its body was smoking, the Cerberus's eyes remained fierce. Despite taking a hit from the Power of Destruction, it still had the strength to stand back up.
"I didn't kill it?"
Akeno Himejima was stunned. The Power of Destruction inherited by the Gremory family had been made famous by the genius Sirzechs. Naturally, great expectations were placed on Rias, who shared that power. Yet, surprisingly, Rias's Power of Destruction had failed to kill a Cerberus—a creature that hadn't even reached the level of a high-class devil—in a single blow.
This sight deeply shocked Akeno. At the same time, she truly understood why Rhode had appraised Rias the way he did. According to him, if she continued to slack off like this, Rias would end up as a "faded genius" within a few years.

Just then, Sona Sitri arrived with her own peerage.
"The demonic beasts on my end have been dealt with," the short-haired girl with glasses said calmly, her school uniform slightly disheveled.
"Thank you, Sona. Can I ask you to handle the evacuation? We'll find a way to deal with the rest," Rias said without looking back.
"Rias, the opponent is a monster on a completely different level. You will definitely lose against him. It's not too late—if you ask your brother for help..."
Before Sona could finish, Rias interrupted her irritably. "Then why haven't you asked your sister for help?"
