As the lunch break ended, students rushed back into their classrooms in groups. Julia, however, walked alone already anticipating the next lesson. Soon Charles caught up with her.
"You're pretty fast. Trying to get to class early and start thinking about the lesson already?"
Julia silently quickened her pace.
They entered the classroom together, followed by other students. Shortly afterward, the teacher came in. However, Charles didn't give up.
"You're pretty boring...but interesting as well."
Julia stopped writing for a moment, then resumed her work. Noticing this, Charles was about to speak again, but before he could, the teacher called on him. Charles was caught off guard, yet he glanced at the problem once and answered swiftly. The teacher nodded.
"Correct."
Julia immediately realized she wouldn't have answered it that quickly. She didn't show that but inwardly acknowledged him.
He might be more than just a distraction.
