Chapter 52 - The Only Reward

Vivienne slowly lifted her chin, her amber-golden eyes gleaming like warm honey under the artificial starlight. Her body was still pressed against Odette's, the vampire's hand steady on her waist, fingers intertwined with a calm possessiveness. The silence in the inner garden was absolute. Everyone waited for the wish.

But Vivienne smiled—a soft, serene, almost intimate smile—and her voice came out clear, low, carrying that elven elegance that made the air hum.

— Afrodite… — she began, her voice sweet and firm at the same time, like velvet brushing bare skin. — We don't want any wish.

A surprised murmur rippled through the hall. Afrodite raised a pink eyebrow, her heavy curls swaying over her generous breasts, but she didn't interrupt.

Vivienne continued, squeezing Odette's fingers tighter, as if wanting the whole world to feel the truth that pulsed between them.

— We didn't come here for power, for eternity, or for a hidden paradise. We already have all of that. — She tilted her face slightly toward Odette, her lips almost brushing the vampire's jaw. — I have her. And she has me. It's that simple.

Odette smiled against Vivienne's skin, her red eyes half-closed in pure delight, and added in that husky, hypnotic voice that seemed to caress every ear present:

— We came just to have fun. To dance. To show, without shame or filter, who we are when we're together. — Her fingers slid slowly along Vivienne's waist, possessive yet full of affection. — We don't need a wish granted by a goddess… because the only wish that matters has long since come true. I have her in my arms. She has me in her gaze. The rest is unnecessary luxury.

Vivienne tilted her head, resting her forehead against Odette's for a moment, their breaths mingling.

— Thank you for the honor — she said, turning her gaze to Afrodite with genuine gratitude. — But our wish has already been fulfilled. We only wanted to dance… and remind everyone that sometimes the greatest miracle isn't asking the universe for something. It's already finding everything in the person you love.

The silence that followed was different. It wasn't shock. It was understanding. A collective, almost envious sigh passed through the garden.

Afrodite observed the two for a long moment. Her pink-golden eyes shone with something that seemed like… pride. A slow, almost tender smile curved her full lips.

— So it is… — murmured the goddess, her voice soft as silk. — You didn't come to take. You came to show. And you have shown beautifully.

She tilted her head, her heavy pink curls cascading over her generous décolletage.

— So be it. There will be no wish granted tonight… because your wish is already complete.

Afrodite raised her hands, and a gentle shower of pink and golden petals fell over the couple like a silent blessing. The applause began again, warmer and more sincere than before.

Odette pulled Vivienne closer, her lips brushing the elf's ear as the sound of clapping echoed around them.

— See? — she whispered, her voice low and full of promises. — Not even the goddess could give us something we already have.

Vivienne laughed softly against Odette's neck, her entire body warm with happiness and desire.

— I have you — she whispered back, her fingers tightening at the vampire's nape. — And that's the only wish I'll ever want.

They kissed there, slowly, deeply, without haste, while the petals continued falling around them like a shower of stars.

Vivienne took another step forward, still with her fingers firmly entwined with Odette's. Her lavender dress shimmered softly under the artificial starlight, the tight bodice emphasizing the curve of her voluptuous breasts. She took a deep breath, her voice soft but clear, filled with genuine emotion:

— Afrodite… — she began, looking directly at the goddess. — You may grant wishes to the others who participated tonight. Aurelia, Violetta, Luminara, Nyxara, the Marionette Sisters… all of them. They danced, they shone, they showed their power. They deserve to have what their hearts most desire.

But as she met each of their eyes, a silent truth became clear: they no longer needed wishes. Their gazes shone with gratitude, camaraderie, and a joy that no magical gift could enhance. Their hearts were already full—and that alone was enough.

A soft murmur passed through the garden. Afrodite tilted her head, curious, her heavy pink curls swaying over her deep neckline.

The entire garden fell into absolute silence. Discreet tears glimmered on several women's faces. Afrodite observed everything with a gentle, almost proud smile, saying nothing.

Vivienne felt her eyes well up. She squeezed Odette's hand tighter, her voice trembling slightly, but full of affection:

— See… you don't need any wish. You already have the most beautiful thing of all: the desire to truly love. And that… that is stronger than any magic.

Odette pulled Vivienne close, kissing her forehead tenderly, while the other participants remained emotional, many with tears in their eyes, smiling at one another.

Afrodite laughed softly, enchanted.

— What a beautiful night… — murmured the goddess. — No one asked for anything… and yet, everyone received it.
