Raven's pov
Rex didn't waste a single moment once we were in the upper chamber. The heavy oak door thudded closed behind us, and the faint scent of smoke and waxed wood filled the room. My hands were still trembling from the chaos below, my skirts rustling as I tried to steady my breath.
I had just lowered my head back to the ground when I heard him bark at me in anger. "Strip and lie on the bed!" he snapped, infusing his words with his raw, commanding authority. My legs moved almost of their own accord toward the bed, my fingers fumbling at the laces of my skirts as I stripped them off and lay as he ordered.
He didn't bother to take his clothes off, and I watched him furrow his brow as he reached between my legs. I yelped at the sudden intrusion.
