Chapter 6 - Beyonder's Store

Ling Shaomiao looked at the Space Ring on her hand. In her mind, she had already made a plan:

"I'll store all my necessary belongings inside this Space Ring."

However, since the real estate agency would send people to help move the items, she didn't think too deeply about it. Between the ring's storage ability and the assistance of the agents, all her belongings would reach the new house safely.

Ling Shaomiao and Grey Kit returned home again. As soon as they entered, Ling Shaomiao said to him,

"I brought some books for you."

Grey Kit took the books and sat down, quietly flipping through the pages.

Meanwhile, Ling Shaomiao went to the kitchen. She picked up a recipe book, because she wasn't completely familiar with how to cook the dishes in this place. Slowly, she turned the pages. The dishes that looked the most familiar and simple to her were: vegetable or mushroom soup, bread slices, fried buttered potatoes, and apple pie.

She thought to herself,

"These are simple. They'll probably taste good too. It's better to start with these."

Soft sounds came from the kitchen as she worked. From the next room, Grey Kit asked slowly,

"Can I help with something?"

Ling Shaomiao paused and looked up, then gently shook her head.

"Thank you, I can manage."

A while later, Ling Shaomiao brought the dishes to the table and said,

"The food is ready, Mr. Grey."

They sat down and finished the meal together. The food tasted wonderful; everything had turned out well.

After the meal, Ling Shaomiao slowly began to tidy up. She stored all the valuable items inside her Space Ring. The necessary kitchen utensils were packed into a box, while Mr. Grey Kit stood nearby, helping arrange everything neatly.

Later, Ling Shaomiao went up to the rooftop and stored about thirty flower pots into her Space Ring.

Around three o'clock, two men arrived with a carriage. Ling Shaomiao helped them load the belongings onto the vehicle.

The carriage soon arrived at Unit 13 on Minsk Street. The two workers opened the door and went inside. Within an hour, they had moved everything properly and cleaned the house thoroughly. There was no trace of dust or sand left anywhere.

Ling Shaomiao arranged the kitchen utensils in their proper places, and within another hour everything was organized perfectly.

---

Klein boarded a tracked public carriage to return to Minsk Street. Out of habit, he sat beside the window. The carriage stopped and moved along slowly. Klein half-closed his eyes, trying to recall his inspiration.

Suddenly, he realized something—he was no longer entirely in the real world.

People around him were talking, eating bread, and reading newspapers, but they had no aura or emotional colors. They weren't truly alive—more like illusory forms. Klein pretended to remain calm, but he carefully noticed that clear spiritual power was spreading from several Beyonders nearby.

Then suddenly, a gigantic black dog appeared on the street—demonic in appearance, with bat wings on its back, goat horns on its head, and a mouth stained with blood and rust. It howled toward the sky, releasing a thick black mist that erased the auras of the illusory pedestrians.

Klein quickly hid himself and slipped into the "shadow" of a paper figurine.

At that moment, Klein heard a faint bark coming from across the street. The sound was clearly filled with anger and resentment.

Who is that? That doesn't sound like something an official Beyonder would make…

Klein was stunned, but he didn't dare to push aside his concealment and peek out.

Soon after, several pairs of eyes floated above the crowd, scanning everything without pause.

When it all faded away, Klein saw that the surrounding emptiness shattered like broken glass.

Then the feeling of reality rushed back over him, and he realized he had returned to the real world.

He removed the paper figurine and sat back down in his seat. The passengers in the carriage continued their activities—reading newspapers, chewing bread, and scolding children. Nothing seemed different.

But in Klein's eyes, they had regained their auras and emotional colors.

Moreover, compared to before, the tracked carriage had clearly moved quite far ahead.

Who would have thought that after just one night and half a day, the huge demonic dog would be discovered, sentenced to death, and purified! Klein thought to himself.

Perhaps Miss Nightshade reporting the incident at the police station sped things up. Maybe the Nighthawks obtained information from her.

---

"Miss Nightshade, you're safe now," Grey Kit said, his voice carrying both caution and relief.

"So, are you leaving now?" Ling Shaomiao asked with a light smile.

"Yes," Grey Kit replied quietly.

"You're welcome to visit my house on holidays or anytime," Ling Shaomiao added.

"Then goodbye, Miss Nightshade."

"See you again, Mr. Grey Kit. Take care," Ling Shaomiao said with a warm smile.

---

After Grey Kit left, Ling Shaomiao opened her Space Ring and walked toward the garden. One by one, she took out the colorful flower pots and arranged them beside the balcony. Each pot seemed to tell its own story—small, but full of life.

The pots contained red roses, lavender, whose soft purple flowers released a delicate fragrance into the air; rosemary, whose green leaves added a subtle reddish tint; gardenia, whose creamy white flowers glowed softly in the afternoon light; and helenium, whose bright yellow blossoms brought life to the garden.

There were also pyrethrum daisies, calendula, freesia, hellebore, geranium, leucanthemum, daisies, and asters. Each flower reflected her careful attention.

Ling Shaomiao tended to the plants until evening approached. She carefully checked the soil of each pot and lightly sprinkled water on the leaves, as if allowing the flowers to breathe. A thin mist lingered in the air while the sun slowly hid behind the western sky. At that moment, the garden felt like her own little world, where every petal carried peace and beauty.

---

Ling Shaomiao returned inside, gently closing the door and lighting the gas lamp nearby. The soft gray evening gradually filled the room with a warm golden glow. Shadows stretched across the room, dancing over the small objects from the Space Ring as if each item were announcing its presence.

She took out the tools needed for making clothes. Then her eyes fell on a small box. Though its design was simple, it carried a quiet elegance.

She slowly opened it—and froze in shock.

"Are these… real pearls?"

The pearls looked just as perfect as the ones given to Klein. Ling Shaomiao could hardly believe such precious items were right in front of her.

At that moment, the blue screen appeared again.

The words on it read:

"Mission 2: Success."

A small girl emerged from the screen and said,

"Please receive your reward."

Ling Shaomiao spun the wheel again as before. This time, she received a pair of glasses.

Below it was written:

Abilities: Language translation, seeing emotional colors, detecting Beyonders and their pathway

Usage:

After wearing the glasses, think about the ability you want to use and mentally say "On."

Ling Shaomiao looked at the spinning wheel again. Taking a light breath, she spun it for the second time.

The blue light slowly stopped, and new words appeared on the screen:

"An Adult Black Widow Spider Silk Gland."

Ling Shaomiao slowly read the name. After a moment, her eyes widened in shock.

"That's… an ingredient for Sequence 6 of the Demoness Pathway — Pleasure…"

Her voice carried both amazement and hesitation.

She sat silently for a while, then murmured to herself,

"What am I supposed to do with this? I'm never going to follow the Demoness Pathway."

Even so, curiosity drew her back to the wheel.

For the third time, she spun it.

The blue light rotated again, and suddenly a large message appeared:

"Congratulations! You have unlocked the 'Beyonder's Store.'"

Ling Shaomiao frowned slightly and looked at the small girl beside her.

"What is the Beyonder's Store?"

The girl calmly explained,

"In this store, you can purchase various formulas and ingredients using pounds."

Interest immediately flashed in Ling Shaomiao's eyes.

"Wonderful…" she said softly.

Without hesitation, she placed her finger on the blue screen.

A wave of light spread outward, and in the next moment she entered the interface of the Beyonder's Store.
