Chapter 14 - ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT

Thranvalis Contest, Boulderkeep Stockade

In the Chieftain Box, risen above the fighting pit, in the arena, Chieftain Val'katl hugged Tlandar. "You are now Champion of the Thranvalis Contest! Tlandar, congratulations! You won the contest! You truly are the Protector of Astashica! And if I ever doubted that you were, forgive me. I truly believe, and am sure you are the prophesized Protector, the one who will lead us all to Oasis, the realm of origin of all of us," Chieftain Val'katl said.

"Thank you Chieftain Val'katl. I am happy I've managed to defeat your eight best champions, the mightiest generals of your forces," Tlandar said. "And if Astashica ever needs me to do anything for her, I will! Long live Astashica! For the planet!" Tlandar said. He was standing next to Val'katl in the Chieftain Box. Then Akoros and the rest of his Salgaran spies moved near to watch. They moved calmly. Their holographic projectors concealed their true form and gave them the appearance of random spectators.

"I see Tlandar speaking to Chieftain Val'katl. The Chieftains' attendants are around with them. I see the host, Vraek, is around them. They are all inside the Chieftain Box, above the arena pit," Akoros, the asemtek, leading Salgaran spy said. "Keep your eyes open. Watch out for threats!" Akoros said to his group. "Akoros, have you sensed something wrong?" the second Salgaran spy, a male asemtek, younger, said. "I've perceived someone, not from us, who's been moving around. Be very careful!" Akoros said. They moved their hands to their concealed plasma guns and scanned the environment around, trying to see something. "How did you know?" the third Salgaran spy said, a temsek male. "My heart is racing. My senses are alerting me, something is about to happen! Watch out!" Akoros said. They scanned around their environment againt. "I don't seen anything dangerous," the second Salgaran spy said. Then suddenly, Vraek drew out an obsidian, sharp, long, pointy dagger. It was an asemeri warrior dagger. He got close to Tlandar, and said, facing Chieftain Val'katl, "Chieftain Val'katl, I've served for over twenty years. But I now serve a higher master. This boy, is really the Protector of Astashica, from the oracle. I was sent here by Meiannia, leader of Cosmus' spies. I'm an spy. And spies can sometimes defect. Tlandar, die!" Vraek said. Then he stabbed Tlandar in the side of the neck. Tlandar collapsed, bleeding rivers of blood. "What have you done, traitor!" Chieftain Val'katl said.

"Fire at the assailant!" Akoros said. They drew out their plasma guns and fired dozens of plasma bullets at Vraek, but he jumped high up in the air, whirled in the air, evaded every single plasma bullet. He fell down on the ground, in the distance, and ran away. He drew out his plasma gun and fired at the Valkatlan soldiers who guarded the exit gate. They collapsed without being able to stop him. Vraek disappeared in the shadows.

"Get Tlandar, now! We'll carry him off from the Chieftain Box, down into the first spectator ring," Akoros said. Then and him and his Salgaran spy group climbed up the stairs to the Chieftain Box, seized wounded Tlandar, and carried him off in their arms to the first spectator ring. "Save the boy!" Chieftain Val'katl said. Then Akoros said, "Tlandar are you alright? We're with Chieftain Salgar. We're here to save you!" Akoros said. Tlandar had all is garments drenched in blood. "First, we'll stop this bleeding!" Akoros said. They had placed Tlandar flat on the ground. All the Salgaran spies had surrounded him, and kneeled beside him. They made efforts to heal him. "We need to close all the wounds!" Akoros said. The second Salgaran spy drew out a first aid kit. They opened the kit and took high tech medical utensils. Akoros, the leading Salgaran spy, put on a high tech monocle. "With this I should see an X-ray, 3D image of the entire wound, and its dimensions," Akoros said. "Tlandar, your neck looks fine. The wound did not puncture your neck too deep. The dagger's tip broke off. Here it is. Its broken and stuck in the bone," Akoros said. "I will clean the wound with this antiseptic," Akoros said. He took out a metallic bottle and sprayed a liquid that smelled strongly like alchohol. "I will now remove the obsidian fragments. Some arteries in the neck are wounded. I will suture them with this fine nickel threads." Akoros said. "Success," the second Salgaran spy said.

"I will look at the rest of your body, your heart, your organ. I see… they look fine," Akoros said, as he looked at Tlandar, from head to toe, with his X-ray vision, high tech monocle. "Tlandar, are you alright boy?" Akoros said. "I'm feeling fine, thank you for saving my life," Tlandar said. "You're welcome. We are always with you, Tlandar. Chieftain Salgar doesn't abandon her warriors," Akoros said. "Tlandar, get up," Akoros said. Then Tlandar got up. The spectators were perplexed and scared to what happened to Tlandar. Then Akoros got up, and told the spectators, "Tlandar is fine, he has been restored to good health. We will take care of him. You can leave the arena," Akoros said. Then he helped limping Tlandar out of the entire arena chamber into an adjacent atrium.

The Connecting Atrium

Tlandar was now resting in a large chair, sat in a connecting atrium. The atrium connected to different vital sections of Boulderkeep Stockade. Akoros was using a mobile, holographic scanner, and was scanning Tlandar's body, three feet away. "Tlandar, to help yourself heal better, activate your Aurora Descendant energy," Akoros said. "Concentrate, Tlandar, use your mind!" the second Salgaran spy, younger that Akoros, said. "I will concentrate!" Tlandar said. He closed his eyes, then after a few minutes, his body emitted a light blow and golden flakes. His body began to regenerate on its, all his wounds started to close. His blood vessels reconnected and closed. "I've seen all of your body cells are healing very fast," Akoros said. "Tlandar, you so brave, you really are the best, just hold on," the second Salgaran spy said. They checked his pulse in his wrist and neck. "It's done," Akoros said.
