Chapter 4 - The Universe Breaker System

When Leo finally came back to his senses, he was already lying in his bed.

The familiar ceiling of his dorm room stared back at him.

For a moment, he simply lay there, staring silently.

Then the doubt returned.

"Was that… all just a dream?"

Leo slowly raised his hand and pinched his arm.

"Ouch!"

The sharp pain instantly answered his question.

"…Definitely not a dream."

Leo sat up on the bed and took a deep breath.

If everything that happened earlier was real… then that meant the system was real too.

He hesitated for a moment before speaking quietly.

"System… are you there?"

Almost instantly, a calm mechanical voice echoed inside his mind.

Yes, Leo. I am here.

Leo nodded slowly.

"So you really exist…"

After confirming that the system was real, another question immediately came to his mind.

"What happened to Ayzer?"

The system responded without delay.

Ayzer has already returned to his original galaxy.

Leo frowned slightly.

"What about his memories?"

The system continued.

He will not remember coming to Earth.

He will not remember bringing you to the clouds.

He will not remember meeting you at all.

Leo leaned forward slightly.

"Completely erased?"

Yes.

The system continued explaining.

Even if the Universe Lord himself attempts to inspect Ayzer's memories, nothing will be discovered.

Ayzer himself will never realize that his memories were altered.

Even higher dimensional beings will not be able to detect the change.

Leo slowly leaned back in his chair.

"…So basically there's almost no chance he'll remember anything."

Correct. The probability of memory recovery is nearly zero.

Leo sighed deeply with relief.

"Good…"

At least one big problem had been solved.

After a moment of silence, Leo asked another question.

"System… what should I call you?"

The mechanical voice replied calmly.

You may call me anything.

However, the name must have meaning. Please avoid irrational or absurd names.

Leo thought for a moment.

Then suddenly his eyes lit up.

"Alright… how about Edith?"

The system remained silent.

Leo quickly explained.

"It's from a movie called Spider-Man: Far From Home. In that movie, one of the legendary Avengers gives an advanced AI technology to Spider-Man, and its name is Edith."

The system responded.

Processing reference…

For a brief moment, everything went quiet.

Exactly one second later, the system spoke again.

Name accepted.

Leo blinked.

"That fast?"

The system replied calmly.

During the last second, all Avengers-related films and their contextual data were analyzed.

Leo stared blankly.

"…You watched the entire Marvel universe in one second?"

Correct.

Leo slowly nodded.

"Alright then… welcome, Edith."

For some reason, he felt slightly more comfortable now that the system had a name.

After a moment, another question surfaced in Leo's mind.

"Edith… who created you?"

For the first time, the system paused before answering.

Then it replied.

This information is currently classified.

Leo frowned.

"Meaning?"

Your current level is insufficient to access that information.

Additionally, even if I were allowed to explain, you would not be able to comprehend the answer at this stage.

Leo leaned back and sighed.

"…Honestly, I expected that answer."

He rubbed the back of his neck.

"From the beginning, it was obvious I wouldn't get all the answers easily."

After a brief pause, Leo asked another question.

"Edith… how strong is Ayzer right now?"

The system responded immediately.

Comparison requested.

A moment later, Edith answered.

If your strength were compared to that of an insect…

Leo already felt uneasy hearing that.

Edith continued calmly.

Then even that insect would be at least one thousand times stronger than you in comparison to Ayzer.

Leo stared at the air in disbelief.

"…Do you have to be that harsh?"

Edith replied softly.

This statement was already a softened version of the truth.

Then she added quietly.

I was being generous.

Leo covered his face with his hand.

"Alright… alright… I get it."

He sighed.

"You're brutally honest, Edith."

After calming down slightly, Leo asked another question.

"So then… what are the power levels of this universe?"

"Ayzer didn't explain anything about that."

Immediately, a glowing holographic screen appeared in front of Leo.

It looked like a futuristic presentation.

Edith began explaining.

Before entering the greater universe, every being from Earth must break through seven fundamental levels.

The screen displayed seven empty tiers.

These seven levels exist within Earth's domain.

The Creator God does not restrict growth above these stages and every being in this planet can't grow beyond these 7 levels but you are different.

Leo blinked.

"…Wait."

His mind suddenly went blank.

"What did you just say?"

He leaned forward.

"You're telling me there are power levels on Earth?"

He stared at the holographic display.

"Does that mean… there are actually people with powers on this planet?"

He looked completely shocked.

"Like… superhumans?"

Edith paused briefly before replying.

You mean to say…

Her mechanical voice sounded almost curious.

You were not aware that superhuman individuals already exist on Earth?

Leo sat there in stunned silence.

Because until that moment—

He had absolutely no idea.
