Chapter 20 - Chapter 20 A Top-Tier Beedrill, Still the 4V

  Chapter 20 A Top-Tier Beedrill, Still the 4V

  Nature Isn't Good... The

Ability Isn't Good... Too Small... Too Few Moves... Too Low Level... It Looks a Bit Crooked...

  ...

  Ten, Twenty, Thirty, Fifty...

By the end, Xia Mu was completely dizzy, unsure if he'd read it twice.

Finally, guided by Growlithe and Riolu, he found a level 29 Beedrill that had regained consciousness.

This Beedrill was different from the others; it showed no fear, instead constantly emitting a buzzing warning.

Upon closer inspection, Xia Mu was certain he had found the Beedrill he wanted.

  The capture process was effortless.

It had no fighting ability to begin with, so where would it get the resistance?

Even after awakening, it was only at its last gasp.

Moreover, most wild Pokémon admire strength; after being defeated by a stronger trainer, most are willing to follow and become the stronger's subordinate.

If Xia Mu hadn't captured it, it would have continued to be hostile, but by capturing it, he had become its master.

  ...

  [Beedrill]

  [LV: 29]

  [Gender: Female]

  [Type: Bug/Poison]

  [Nature: Jolly]

[Ability: Sniper (Hidden Ability: Power increases when hitting a critical hit)]

[Moves: Multi-Shot, Double Needle, Poison Sting, String Shot, Harden, Bug Bite, Slash, Sharpen, Focus Charge, Venom Tackle, Pursuit, Toxic Spikes, Drill Run.]

[Friendship: 49 (Basic acquaintance, still needs work)]

[Mood: Good (A discerning owner chose me as your subordinate; I won't disappoint you)]

  ...

  [Beedrill's IVs]

  [HP: 26 (Very good)]

[Special Attack: 0 (Maybe not good)]

  [Special Defense: 31 (Best)]

  [Attack: 31 (Best)]

  [Defense: 31 (Best)]

  [Speed: 31 (Best)]

  [Overall Rating: Incredible Ability!]

  ...

  Holy crap!

  Holy crap!!

  Holy crap!!

Wild 4V, and with the best four physical attack stats!

Xia Mu was overwhelmed with joy, and his hand holding the healing potion trembled slightly.

This was truly the best of the best.

Moreover, it even knew Drill Run! A move

that could easily hit vitals, combined with the Sniper ability, more than doubled Beedrill's strength.

Ordinary Beedrills couldn't learn this move.

Even after Mega Evolution, this move became dispensable, but the difference between knowing this move and not knowing it was still huge.

You can't just Mega Evolve every time, right?

Trying his best to calm himself down, Xia Mu talked to Beedrill to build a basic bond while healing its injuries.

Naturally, he didn't forget to buy exclusive Energy Cubes from the system shop.

Fortunately, Energy Cubes weren't expensive, 100 League Coins for a box, and a box contained 100 cubes.

If it's just for filling their stomachs, a Pokémon only needs three to ten Energy Cubes a day.

So, a normal daily intake of Energy Cubes wouldn't exceed 10 League Coins.

Xia Mu even considered starting a company that produced its own Energy Cubes, since they're delicious and inexpensive, and can be eaten as a snack when people have nothing else to eat. Even bug-catching kids on the street could afford them.

Of course, this was just wishful thinking.

As Beedrill recovered to its peak condition, the atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Beedrill seemed a bit arrogant, clearly defiant towards Growlithe and Riolu, but only dared not look directly at Red Gyarados, obviously because it had been thoroughly humiliated by Red Gyarados.

Xia Mu could only slowly cultivate their bond later.

In any case, this Beedrill had accepted him as its master; the increase in their affection was somewhat absurd.

Just now it was only 49 points, and it jumped directly to 69 points.

Although initial growth was easy, and various actions could affect the development of their bond, this was indeed somewhat…perhaps it was because it was female…or perhaps it was simply that Bug-types leveled up quickly, which corresponded to the ease of training.

For Xia Mu, this was certainly good.

  …

After capturing Beedrill, Xia Mu also took out some healing items purchased from the Friendship Shop and treated the Beedrill here.

He had achieved his goal and naturally wouldn't leave them unattended.

So many Beedrill had provided him with so much experience, greatly increasing the strength of the three little ones.

On this point, Xia Mu felt he needed to treat the Beedrill here, as it might come back again in a few days.

Of course, this kind of trouble with the Beedrill swarm might not happen again in the future.

Xia Mu was certain that his Beedrill seemed to be the queen of the swarm.

Therefore, he probably wouldn't attack the Beedrill within the Round Island anymore, unless the Beedrill swarm came looking for him again.

"Don't worry, I'll still be active in the forest frequently for a while. Even if I leave the Round Island Great Forest, I can come back every now and then," Xia Mu said to the Beedrill.

His home was in Round Island, and he wouldn't be traveling all the time anymore; he would definitely come back to stay for a while every now and then.

Unless he moved to another place in the future.

The Beedrill understood Xia Mu's words and emitted a 'buzzing' sound.

After leaving this area, Xia Mu took the four little ones back to the shore of Crescent Lake.

The reason for returning here was that Xia Mu decided to use this as a starting point; it was time to challenge the high-level wild Pokémon he had recorded in the past one by one.

Of course, what he thought were high-level a few days ago had now gone from the red list to the yellow list.

The red list is not to be trifled with, the yellow list is safe to fight.

Actually, calling it the yellow list is already being lenient. Even ignoring Growlithe's level 38, a single Flamethrower from a red Gyarados would completely overwhelm any Grass or Bug-type Pokémon.

Add to that the red Gyarados's terrifying size and its maxed-out Special Attack stat.

  What's a 10-level difference?

In fact, Xia Mu can give them an absolute boost from their current level:

  Individual Value (IV) training.

In the game, Xia Mu only does this after reaching level 100, aiming to maximize their IVs through "training."

The system shop does sell Silver and Gold Crowns, and unlike in the game, you don't need to find someone to train to the maximum to activate their effects.

Xia Mu can directly use crowns to increase IVs.

However, they are 100 times more expensive than in the game.

Silver Crown: 500,000 League Coins, can raise a Pokémon's IV for one type to its maximum.

Golden Crown: Priced at 1 million League Coins, it can raise all of a Pokémon's Individual Values (IVs) to their maximum.

  ...

When you don't have the money, you can only watch helplessly.

But when you can afford it, a different thought arises.

Xia Mu isn't short of money now, but he's worried that raising them too much at once will have a significant impact on their Pokémon, creating a burden.

So last night, he only allocated Effort Values (EVs) and at most taught them some moves.

As for IVs, Xia Mu decided to use it on his Pokémon when he leaves Elysium Island for Cinnabar Island.
