Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Powerful Trainers in Cinnabar Island.

Chapter 39 Powerful Trainers in Cinnabar Island.

Back in Cinnabar Island, Xia Mu rode his mountain bike around Route 11, taking his Growlithe and Lucario to the seaside.

Cinnabar City is a large city built on the coast. Its development relies partly on the island's own supplies, but mostly on foreign trade through its port.

Otherwise, Cinnabar City would never have reached its current level.

Of course, many people are willing to invest in Cinnabar City as a transit point.

After all, to the south are the Orange Islands, and to the north is the Kanto Continent.

To the northwest is the Tokyo region, and to the southwest is the Hoenn region.

To the east is the Unova region, and to the southeast is the Alola region…

Therefore, many large freight trains stop and transit through Cinnabar.

  …

  They arrived at the beach.

The weather was sunny and the sun wasn't too strong, so the beach was crowded with people.

Countless handsome men and beautiful women.

While Cinnabar City isn't a famous resort destination, its large size and excellent management, along with its well-developed facilities and tourist areas, make it a popular tourist destination.

Even some outsiders come to "check in" on social media.

  Check in?

  Absolutely!

The Pokémon world is quite similar to the world of Xia Mu's previous life.

When celebrities appear in certain places, or when a place becomes famous for something special, it attracts a large crowd.

According to the original owner's memories, Cinnabar City's fame stems from the League's policy a few years ago, where, as a large island city serving as a transit hub, it vigorously developed its tourism industry.

This led to the city government undertaking extensive renovations and improvements to scenic areas.

And indeed, a comparison of before and after photos clearly shows that the beach after the renovations is far superior to what it was before.

Ultimately, the purpose was to advertise the region, letting visitors to Cinnabar City know that it belongs to the Kanto region and has a unique cultural character. If

Cinnabar City is like this, then other parts of the Kanto region are also worth traveling to.

Using Cinnabar City to build its reputation would attract tourists, investment, and development, thus boosting the economy.

Even though Xia Mu knew nothing about politics in his past and present lives, he had at least been influenced by the environment in his previous life.

On the other hand, it also promoted the Orange Islands in the south.

After all, as a southern resort paradise, the Orange Islands are hailed as a paradise for men and a bikini haven in the original work.

  ...

Putting away his mountain bike, Xia Mu, along with Growlithe and Lucario, quickly found the target building along the beach path.

After the battle last night, he had formed a preliminary friendship with that bald guy, Ali, through a fight.

Xia Mu came here naturally to find him.

It was only because Xia Mu possessed sufficient strength that others were willing to establish a friendship with him.

The Pokémon world, too, exhibits a variety of human natures; everyone strives for advancement. Your status and strength determine the kind of people you can associate with.

Ali is a local of Cinnabar Island City, though his family isn't particularly powerful or influential; they run small businesses and have a modest income.

For example, Ali's parents run a small restaurant on this beach, selling specialty drinks, juices, and fruit snacks.

In Xia Mu's understanding, being able to run a restaurant in such a place meant the family must have some assets.

After all, where would an average person get the money to buy such a place?

Although there are several other restaurants and bars nearby, the sheer size of this beach resort and the massive foot traffic suggest a huge potential profit.

Without connections, they wouldn't have been able to open a shop here.

When Xia Mu approached Ali, he warmly welcomed him and explained who the strongest trainers in Cinnabar Island City were.

This was the reason Xia Mu had come to Ali.

Through Ali's explanation, Xia Mu learned that Cinnabar Island City actually harbored several elite trainers who had participated in several leagues.

One of them had even reached the semifinals of the last Indigo League and had traveled to other regions, reportedly achieving considerable success.

"So, how does your impressive description compare to your actual strength?" Xia Mu asked, taking a sip of his specialty drink.

Ali's words were just his opinion; Xia Mu wanted to know their actual strength. Otherwise, with Pokémon all over level 50, challenging those would be like sending them to their deaths.

For example, Ali's strongest Poliwag was level 46, and Xia Mu had to exert considerable effort to defeat it.

All of Ali's other Pokémon were level 40 or higher.

At least among yesterday's group, Ali was definitely the strongest.

If he didn't have that kind of strength, he wouldn't have been able to organize that kind of group gathering, and no one would listen to him.

In Ali's words, he had participated in the Indigo League before, and he had even challenged the Orange Islands Winner's Cup. Although he failed, his strength was recognized by the honorary trainer, Yuji.

"Not to brag, but it's about even. I have my wins, and I have my losses."

Seeing Ali's proud and smug look, Xia Mu had a rough idea.

Perhaps there would be one or two very high-level Pokémon, but the vast majority should be level 40 or higher.

  They could fight.

"Looking at it this way, I'm actually quite interested. So, can you arrange something for today?" Xia Mu asked.

Ali nodded: "Who wouldn't want to make money? A battle with you gives me 10,000 League Coins, which is equivalent to several days' income for most people.

Besides, most trainers with some skill don't want to battle us anymore. Otherwise, do you think I'd want to earn money that costs money? Don't be fooled by my family's small fortune; my allowance is never enough."

Hearing Ali's words, Xia Mu could somewhat empathize.

Indeed, knowing Ali and his group's strength, who would want to challenge them and give them money?

Nobody's a fool, so trainers with some skill in Cinnabar Island City no longer rely on Pokémon battles for income.

Most people, after the age of fifteen or sixteen, stop going on adventures.

Some go to school to complete basic education, so they can have a skill later in life.

Others help their families, and that's it for them.

It's worth mentioning that in this world, after the age of ten, you can go to the League headquarters to receive a random Pokémon, and then choose whether to travel, but most don't.

Most people train their Pokémon for a year or two after receiving them before venturing out to challenge them.

Although Xia Mu still found it absurd, it was the truth.

It just meant that people in this world were more mature; at least ten-year-olds looked eleven or twelve, and their intelligence was quite high.

This was probably related to their experiences, right? After all, traveling alone led to different educational perspectives.

As for the main characters like Ash and Gary from the original series, who received their starter Pokémon at ten and went on trips to challenge gyms, well, that's something ordinary people can't compare to.

How could ordinary people even qualify to receive starter Pokémon?

Most people only get ordinary Pokémon from the roadside.
