Chapter 9 - BLATER

Jay Jay's pov

Lunch bell rang like a battle cry.

Section E didn't walk to the cafeteria they attacked it.

I was just about to ask Ci-N to bring my food when Keifer appeared out of nowhere like a billionaire food-delivery service.

"I'll get it," he said casually.

Before I could argue, he was already gone.

Also he didn't take money. Obviously. Rich people problems.

And I ended up alone in the classroom. There was no one except me.

I stood up.

"Okay," I muttered. "I'll just walk a little."

Outside the classroom, the corridor stretched long and quiet. At the far end, I saw someone standing near the wall.I looked carefully and saw

Blaster.

He was on his phone, voice low, tense.

Instantly

Detective Jay activated.

WOW. DETECTIVE JAY.

"Focus," I whispered to myself and crept closer, footsteps careful.

Blaster's voice drifted to me.

"How long are you going to stay like this?" he said sharply.

"If you're always scared of him, how can you be with me?"

I froze.

With him?

I couldn't hear the other person, but Blaster continued, frustration clear.

"If you want, I'll face him. We can't keep hiding like this forever."

My brain short-circuited.

Wait.

Blaster has a girlfriend?

Then why

Why does he have Elixera's photo as his wallpaper?I thought he love her so,i can him him in the club yuri is in.

Before I could process further

"HEY."

"AHHHHHH—!"

I screamed like my soul left my body.

Blaster jerked up, and I nearly punched the air.

Ci-N stood beside me, grinning.

I smacked his arm. "YOU SCARED ME!"

"I literally breathed," he said, rubbing his arm. "How is that my fault?"

Blaster looked between us, clearly nervous.

"What are you two doing here?"

Ci-N opened his mouth.

I said quickly. "We we were coming back from the cafeteria and saw you, so we came to call you."

Super fast.

Oscar-worthy.

"Oh," Blaster said, relaxing a little. "I'll eat later."

Ci-N again tried to talk.

I grabbed his sleeve and dragged him away before he could ruin everything.

Inside the classroom, Ci-N spun toward me.

"Why did you lie? You were literally spying."

"Shhh," I hissed. "Lower your voice."

"Okay," he whispered dramatically. "Now tell me."

"Don't tell anyone," I warned.

"I swear."

We sat down.

"Come closer."

He leaned in.

"I saw Blaster talking to someone secretly," I whispered. "I think... he has a secret girlfriend."

Ci-N's eyes widened.

"REALLY?!"

"LOWER. YOUR. VOICE."

"Really?" he repeated, much quieter.

I nodded. "You scared me before I could hear more.If you wer..."

"What are you two plotting?" David asked, appearing like a jumpscare.

We both smiled innocently.

"Nothing."

One by one, everyone returned.

And then

My life arrived.

MY FOOD.

My first love.

My everything.

Keifer placed my lunch on my desk.

And that little brat Ci-N reached for it.

I slapped his hand away.

Keifer pulled a chair next to my desk and sat down casually, like this was his assigned seat.

-----

After school, I goes straight toward Aries.

Begging mode: ON.

Because priorities.

Because we are going to eat food. yay!

"Aries," I said sweetly, hands folded like an angel. "Please?"

"No," he replied instantly.

Rude.

"Pleeease." I tried again, stretching the word like it had feelings.

"I said no."

Okay.

Time for desperate measures.

I sniffed dramatically, rubbing my eyes. "Please," I said, forcing the fakest cry known to mankind.

He didn't even blink.

"NO."

Cruel. Heartless. Villain-coded.

So I used my ultimate weapon.

I dropped down and grabbed his leg.

Hard.

People stopped walking.

People stared.

Some probably filmed.

But listen food comes first.

"Jay don't," Aries hissed, trying to pull his leg away.

"PLEASE, ARIES," I begged shamelessly. "I'll die of hunger. You don't want that on your conscience."

He groaned, rubbing his face.

"Fine," he said finally. "But come home early. Or you're dead."

I gasped dramatically.

"THANK YOU."

I jumped up and kissed his cheek before he could escape.

"Yuck!" he said, shoving me away. "Get away from me!"

I didn't care.

Permission secured.

Food secured.

I spun around and ran toward the others, victorious, leaving Aries behind shaking his head like he'd just raised a disaster.

Worth it.🥓🌭

We decided to walk since there weren't enough cars.

And that king of asshole left his car chilling in the garage because according to him he has "too many cars."

RICH rich

Wait I'm rich too.

I literally have an island.

We walked, talked, joked, laughed. Wellmost of us did.

Yuri didn't.

He smiled sometimes, but it wasn't his smile. Not the easy one. Not the warm one.

It felt... fake. Like a plastic smile you put on when you don't want people to ask questions.

Something was wrong.

I noticed it.

I just didn't know what to do about it.

After a while, we finally reached the street food stall the one I loved the most.

My heart was already dancing.

Until I saw it.

Closed.

CLOSED.

I stared at the shutter like it had personally betrayed me.

I stopped walking.

"...No."

I walked closer, staring at the shutter like it might open out of fear.

"No no no no," I muttered. "It's illegal. Against humanity."

"It literally has a shutter, Jay," Rory said.

"I literally begged aries" I said, offended. "I trusted this place."

"Maybe the owner is sick,"Josh said.

"Then he should've thought about me before getting sick," Ci-n replied.

"I'm starving,"Edrix said.

Calix knocked on the shutter. Once. Twice.

Nothing.

"This stall watched me grow," Ci-n said dramatically. "I've eaten here in every emotional state."

"You're being dramatic. It was not here when you were born" Felix said.

"I am being betrayed."

After ten minutes of complaining, blaming fate, and threatening to never love street food again, someone finally said the words.

"Let's go to Keifer's house."

"Why?" I asked.

"It's near," they said.

Lies.

It wasn't because it was near.

It was because free food.

I accepted my fate.

We were almost at Keifer's gate when his phone rang. He stopped a few steps ahead, busy with the call.

I slowed down.

That's when I noticed them.

Two boys.

One girl.

They were arguing.

Not the playful kind.

The air felt heavy. Sharp.

The girl stood between them, trying to stop it, her hands shaking. Tears rolled down her face, one after another, like she'd already lost.

My breath hitched.

I recognized them.

Blaster.

Elixera.

Keigan.
