Chapter 101 - Chapter 101: Fu Xuan Awakens

"Partner, aren't we going to deal with that villain? Otherwise, if she slanders us for messing with Master Diviner Fu Xuan, will General Jing Yuan suspect us again or even persecute us?"

Mem popped out, somewhat worried. She felt that if they officially went to war with the Xianzhou Luofu, she could deploy her Reality Marble. By using the partial authority over memory she had reclaimed, she could freeze the Luofu while reproducing the mental pollution of all the world's evils. This would ensure that even with the interference of an Emanator, about 50% of the life on the Xianzhou Luofu would go mad and die in a very short time.

As for the surviving 50%, she estimated that a portion would be plagued by various mental illnesses for a long time due to the mental pollution.

But Mem felt this was too extreme, so she wondered if she should tell her Partner not to choose such an extreme path.

"Don't worry, Dan Shu won't choose to frame us to our faces. That would only look too desperate and treat the legendary Divine Strategist General like a fool. She must be cleaning up her tracks right now. When she's called over for a diagnosis, she will calmly state that nothing happened.

And after that, she will surely find ways, even fabricating things out of thin air, to make us look suspicious. Then she'll hand these things to Jing Yuan and suggest that our treatment is also very problematic. But she must never show that she's certain we're the problem. Instead, she must use an uncertain, suspicious, and hesitant attitude.

To deceive a clever person, you must use various pieces of false information to mislead them. Let them think for themselves, let them speculate, let them investigate, and finally, let them doubt for themselves.

Clever people are best at deceiving themselves, believing their judgment cannot be wrong, especially a clever person who has long been called the Divine Strategist and credited with being infallible.

And these past few days, Dan Shu has believed she's been leading such a clever person around by the nose, keeping him busy and frazzled. So, she confidently believes she might succeed.

As for whether things will turn out as she thinks, I don't know either. After all, I'm not the Master Diviner lying in bed sleeping, who can divine the future."

"Then, according to what you're saying, Partner, are we bound to fight with the Xianzhou later?"

"It doesn't matter. I never planned to stay on the Xianzhou for long, nor have I invested any significant emotion in anyone here. If I'm not welcome, I'll just leave. If they want to be my enemy, then we fight."

"Then Partner, should we just expose Dan Shu directly in front of General Jing Yuan later?"

"We could, but Dan Shu likely anticipates this possibility and has already prepared countermeasures, she might even have an alibi. Besides, I can't be bothered to waste my energy arguing with her."

Caelus's indifferent attitude made Mem shrug helplessly. Her Partner was always so nonchalant. If he didn't enjoy recording stories, he'd probably be even more of a slacker.

When the Cloud Knights who had been drugged outside woke up, they immediately panicked. Some rushed into the ward, and even though they found no obvious problems, they still stood there nervously, while others immediately hurried to the Seat of Divine Foresight to inform Jing Yuan.

Even though it was already late at night, Jing Yuan still had not gone to sleep. Instead, he sat quietly at his desk, seemingly lost in thought or perhaps waiting for some news.

"General!"

Yanqing ran in, accompanied by a few Cloud Knights.

"Just a moment ago, the Cloud Knights responsible for guarding the Master Diviner, both those on duty in the open and those in the shadows, all claimed that they lost consciousness for a certain period."

"General, shouldn't we arrest that person immediately?"

Jing Yuan immediately put on a solemn expression, stood up, and said, "Yanqing, come with me to the Alchemy Commission to investigate this matter."

Caelus glanced at the Cloud Knights surrounding him, as well as Jing Yuan and Yanqing, who were walking over slowly. He said nothing, simply continuing to sit in his place and flip through his book.

Jing Yuan glanced at Fu Xuan, who was lying on the bed, her complexion having returned to normal and her breathing steady.

The atmosphere was silent for a moment. Then Dan Shu walked in, checked on her, and said, "The Master Diviner is unharmed."

The Cloud Knights responsible for guarding her immediately breathed a sigh of relief, fearing that their negligence might have caused the Master Diviner some harm.

"Mr. Caelus, how is Fu Xuan's condition?"

"She should be able to wake up by morning. I've prepared a few extra desserts for her. She'll be fine once she eats them."

"That is good. This is the reward promised to you. It records some of the more hidden stories and past events of the Xianzhou Luofu."

"Very well, then I shall take my leave."

"Please do."

With a proper and polite smile on his face, Jing Yuan saw Caelus off, then had everyone present leave, deciding to keep watch for the remainder of the night himself.

After everyone had left, Jing Yuan looked at Fu Xuan and said, "Fu Xuan, what exactly did you see?"

Fu Xuan opened her eyes, looked at Jing Yuan, who was smiling down at her, and said, "When did you realize I was awake?"

"I guessed."

"You!"

"Haha! It seems Fu Xuan is recovering well. You even have the energy to get angry now."

After saying this with a laugh, Jing Yuan said with a serious expression, "The Alchemy Commission has developed a very serious problem."

"I have only just woken up. What has happened?"

"After you fell into a coma, I sent you to the Alchemy Commission and arranged for Cloud Knights to protect you both in the open and in the shadows. I also invited Mr. Caelus to treat you. As luck would have it, just a short while ago, those Cloud Knights I arranged all fell into a coma, losing consciousness for a period of time."

"Just because of this, you think there is a problem with the Alchemy Commission?"

"Yes. Perhaps the person behind the scenes thinks that because I have been so busy and overwhelmed lately, they can look down on my reputation as the Divine Foresight General, believing that even if I suspected something, I wouldn't suspect the entire Alchemy Commission.

Furthermore, their intention to frame Mr. Caelus is a bit too obvious. Have they forgotten that this gentleman is a traveler on the Path of Remembrance? If he had any intentions, he wouldn't need to make the Cloud Knights fall into a mass coma. He could simply do whatever he wanted openly without anyone noticing.

But then again, if they were truly smart, why would they pursue that so-called immortality, that so-called Abundance?"

Jing Yuan shook his head, then said to Fu Xuan, who was lying on the bed, "Fu Xuan, how does your body feel now?"

"It's much better. I reckon it will really be as that guy said. I'll be fully recovered by tomorrow morning... It's truly incredible, how such a terrifying mental injury could heal in just one night."

"Then we must return to that topic. What exactly did you see in the Matrix of Prescience? Why did you end up in this situation?"

"...I can't recall clearly. I only remember that at the time, my entire moral compass, methods of handling affairs, self-perception, and social common sense were alienated and tampered with. If I hadn't seemingly received some help at the end, escaped that state, and had most of my memories erased, I fear I would have already succumbed to Mara-Struck."

"Sigh! This is troublesome. If we can't find out the truth about that child's situation, let alone the Vidyadhara on our Luofu, the Vidyadhara on the entire Xianzhou might hold me accountable."

Jing Yuan looked helpless and troubled again. Regarding dealing with the Disciples of Sanctus Medicus and the Stellaron, he was confident, but he truly had no solution for that newborn Believer of the Luminflux infant that had suddenly appeared.
